  1. I'm seeing the same thing right now. It's absolutely ridiculous on Gameday.
  2. You mean because of his sac fly+rbi and walk+stolen base in the 9th inning setting him up to be the gw run? Yeah, what a poser.
  3. Either way, whether it was a strike or just close to a strike, why would Rickie be content to take a walk in the 9th inning of a tie game with a runner in scoring position? Take a hack, Rickie! Be a hero!
  4. I think the difference is that last year he would have waited to let Soup work out of it, but he would have waited for another guy to get on base before he even got anyone up throwing in the bullpen. At least this time he was prepared. I still don't agree with it, but it seems like a slight upgrade.
  5. Coco up. Lets knock him around for a little while.
  6. Guess it doesn't even matter since he was PHing for the pitcher.
  7. I hate not being able to watch this game. 2 ejections in 1 inning and I'm sitting here reading it on Gameday. This sucks.
  8. Prince looked pretty good when he was 21.
  9. Thanks thablingster and yfinn http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. Someone please explain what just happened. All I saw on Gameday is that Bako was ejected and i'm EXTREMELY curious.
  11. And now when Griffey and Dunn get back up in the bottom of the 9th, our lefty option is ... Stetter?
  12. Okay, I post about Soup and he immediately gets pulled. I understand pitching him against Votto, but why not save him for Griffey and Dunn?
  13. Wow, I just get on Gameday and see Soup get Griffey and Dunn on 3 pitches. He's looking really good. Seems like he always puts one of these together right when we need it.
  14. This doesn't look bad at all. It's a bit of a risk, but not too much considering how low the initial contracts are. Longoria makes a little bit more his first few years, and the Rays might save some arby money. Plus if he makes it all the way through the contract, he'll be in a good position to sign one more big one. I still worry that he'll start whining at some point if he's raking. I realize he can't holdout or anything, but it would probably be a distraction. Then again, I know nothing of Longoria's personality so I probably shouldn't make any assumptions. Maybe he just *gasp* doesn't care as much about the money.
  15. But he's fast and plays center field!!
  16. I don't think they can do that for active players anymore. I could be wrong tho. Thought I heard back before A-Rod re-signed that he would consider signing with the Cubs if he got part ownership. I can't remember if MLB squashed this or not. Edit: Resigned...Re-signed...I hate myself for doing that
  17. I wouldn't terribly mind seeing Jackson, other than the fact that it would mean too many guys are injured. That windup is the anti-aesthetic though.
  18. Need? I'll take Cameron, thanks though. Yeah, that sliding catch that saved a run was so ugly. Who had big predictions? Some people just thought that Gabe Gross had a statistically better chance of being a better fill-in for Cameron. Will you "eat crow" if Gwynn comes back and stinks and Gross knocks a few homers out over the next few weeks?
  19. The reason for this is that a lot of businesses require a doctor's note for any time off now (used to be for 3 days or more only). Seems like every time I ask my boss if I can go home early (when I'm sick), she tells me to go to the doctor. Normally I have the same response you do...it's a cold. I'm going to go there, and the doc is going to tell me that it's a cold. But, if the boss wants a note, I'll get her a note. I kinda like the airborne stuff. If anything, it's at least tasty. Menotti, from what you're describing, I would definitely try some kind of allergy medicine. I used to get a lot of that stuff, too. I ended up going to an allergist, but it really wasn't necessary. He just told me what I already knew, which is that I have really bad allergies towards seasonal things (pollen, mold) and dust mites. Not sure what you're living conditions are like, but I usually feel better for awhile after I dust my place (well, I feel like crap for a day, but much better after that). I used to swear by Claritin-D. Well, the generic version of it, anyways. But recently I just had surgery to repair a breathing problem I had with my nose and it doesn't affect me as much.
  20. I went a completely different route for cheap tickets. And by competely different route, I mean completely different ballpark http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'm going to plenty of games at Miller Park this year, but on my birthday weekend the Brewers just happen to be playing @Pittsburgh. I got Row F (I assume row 5) along the baseline for $26 each. I think I might do this every year until the Pirates put together a team worthy of their ballpark and can finally raise ticket prices. Obviously the cost of travel and everything else will end up being quite expensive, but I just like to road trip.
