  1. There's two things that haven't happened to this team yet offensively: 1) Have a triple play turned on them 2) Have a perfect game thrown against them Thinkin' positive!!!!
  2. Its just amazing how bad this offense is.
  3. Not trying to dampen anyone's mood, but a reality check: we just needed a 3-run homerun in the 12th inning to avoid a 3-game sweep to the worst team in the American League. We still got a tough week ahead of us, and this team is gonna have to work really hard to return to Milwaukee with a record of .500 or better.
  4. Fielder has swung at anything that has moved in this series. Is his only hit the HR in the first game? 2 walks by the entire team tonight in 12 innings. Shows how much they're preaching patience at the plate, huh?
  5. I still remember the idiots on WTMJ sports central talking about this team as a possible 100-win ballclub. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  6. Next week when the Tigers and/or Twins send us back to .500, there is no reason that Ned Yost's head shouldn't be on the block. Yes, good teams have bad stretches. However, playoff teams don't play badly for one whole month. We still might be talking Packers football in August.
  7. "Spurlings a gamer, a fighter, a worker". I can just hear that annoying ad reverberating through my skull as I watch this gamer and worker proceed to lob straight 88 mph cheese to big league hitters and give away a much needed win. The Brewers will never win anything under Yost because of this exact reason...his love for throwing mediocre players into tight situations just to fulfill his own fantasies that players like he was back in his playing days can do the job.
  8. This Counsell leading off thing has worked quite well tonight. And as a result, we're going to have to endure it until he's back to horrible again. Funny thing is, Craig is probably the best leadoff-hitter on the team with regards to approach. He has a decent OBP and will at least work the count most of the time, unlike most of the rest of the team.
  9. If anybody is watching the Cub game this is exactly why we won't have to be worrying about them this year. Up 4-2 in the 8th with nobody out and the bases loaded and they don't score. Then in the bottom of the 8th they give up two runs to tie it, then when they look like they are going to get out of it, a passed ball scores the go ahead run. Sounds just like another team I know...I think they're from Milwaukee.
  10. It won't be long until we start hearing the "we're battling and scrapping" tune from our idiot manager, like we did pretty much all of last year, as this streak of crappy play continues....
  11. All that's left tonight is for Derrek Lee to plant one in the left field bleachers about 450 ft away.
  12. Soriano did tonight what it takes Rickie Weeks about a week to do...get 5 hits.
  13. I have a bad feeling about this team right now. There just seems to be a malaise about them. I said about the same thing three weeks ago here, and was chastised from top to bottom for being "negative". Folks, this team just isn't that good. I've said it here before in a different thread...I don't see that much difference from last year's team to this year's team. Horrible situational hitting, inconsistent defense, a bullpen that is spotty at best in middle relief, and a manager who doesn't know how to put his players in the best position for success.
  14. This is one game and the Brewers are still a more complete team. Yes this is one game, but the Brewers have been playing like crap for a month now. All Im saying is that if the Cards and/or Cubs go on a couple of weeks worth of playing well, the Brewers can say sayanara to first place.
  15. This is funny...Yost won't use Wise in back-to-back games, but he will let him pitch 1+ innings in a game the Brewers are down 4 runs in. Did I mention this manager is clueless?
  16. Man, its amazing just how bad this offense is.
  17. Do you all forget that the Cubs have one of the worst bullpens in baseball & we have 2 plus innings left You seem to forget that the Brewers mop-up guys have to hold the Cubs scoreless for two more innings.
  18. All it takes is for the Cards and/or Cubs to get hot and remember how good they can be if they want to, and the Brewers lead won't last 2 more weeks.
  19. Estrada is pathetic. A 2-1 count, and he swings at a pitch about neck-high.
  20. Say it with me, Johnny: GIDP! GIDP!
  21. You watch, the Cubs are going to wake up this series and go on a tear. With Ted Lilly going tomorrow and Zambrano Wednesday, who I think will be motivated to pitch a heck of a game after what happened over the weekend, it wouldn't shock me at all to see the Brewers get swept.
  22. The Cubs will score at least 5 in this inning. Thanks again, Ned. You've just seen another episode of Yosted! Tune in next time for more terrible baseball decisions from one of the worst in-game managers in MLB.
  23. You would think a manager could learn from previous experience. He sets up his pitchers for failure time after time.
  24. How many times does Ned have to see this before he does something about it? Double barrel action in the pen, and doesnt bring either of them in after the first two batters reach. This manager is clueless. Of course, he takes him out when the damage is done.
