  1. The thing is, even if they lose this game and the division lead drops to 4.5 games, it's still the biggest division lead of anyone in the NL. Thats because the Central is easily the weakest of the three divisions of the NL. Either way, comparing leads with other divisions is pointless.
  2. Why is Cordero not getting an inning here? So he will be as rusty as possible and blow the game in his next appearance, just like Turnbow the other night. Ned is clueless when it comes to managing the pen. Im sorry, but its true.
  3. Ah hell Sheets can get em tomorrow. Hes our ace, and we need an ace like perfromance tomorrow. Problem is, other than opening day, Sheets has pitched anything but like an ace. I think its fair to say that I don't know what to expect from Sheeter tomorrow.
  4. Lead in the division is down to 4.5 after tonight. Its very realistic to think that it will be gone by this time next week.
  5. Another monstrous at bat from one of our third basemen. A sharp grounder back to the mound.
  6. If the Brewers are gonna do anything this weekend vs. the Twins, they should thank Jeff Suppan. This inning-sucking start is saving the bullpen big-time.
  7. Looks like Hamels got a little too worked up after walking Rickie...definitely Zambrano-esque. Let's hope the meltdown continues. The man gives up his first hit in the 7th inning, and folks are "hoping the meltdown continues". Yes, right now this offense sucks.
  8. Take it easy chief, you're more than welcome to jump off the bandwagon based on their first rough road trip. Im not jumping off the bandwagon, Im merely stating a fact. On this road trip, this team has looked nothing like they looked all april and the first week of may. They look like the team that was on the field last year. Mind you they're beating down on the Central and that's whats going to atleast get them to the playoffs. The Brewers play a grand total of EIGHT divisional games between now and the end of June. That crutch is not there to stand on.
  9. This team has regressed from the '07 Brewers to the "06 Brewers...in the span of about 6 days. We're seeing how this team is handling its first shot of adversity...and its not good. As it stands right now, I dont see how this club can make the playoffs.
  10. For the second straight night, Cordero warms up and isnt put in. This fricken coaching staff needs to know that your closer is not limited to pitching in save-only situations. The free-fall has begun. It was fun while it lasted.
  11. Who pitches the 9th if we don't take the lead? Gotta be Cordero. In extras, you just plan on getting to the next inning, and worry about it later if you dont score. Cordero hasnt pitched in a week, so he's good for 2 innings.
  12. Would love to see Tony drop a bunt down here
  13. Ned was ejected and is back in the clubhouse. Pretty sure he isn't calling the shots from back there. All managers who are ejected still manage their team, just not from the dugout. Its not like the clubhouse is across town, its just down the hall.
  14. Cordero goes from being over-used to not used. In one week. Ned, see what Charlie did? You CAN use your closer in the 8th....
  15. Great. Apparently Ned didnt learn from last night, and brings Turnbow in AGAIN against the middle of the order with 2 guys on in a tight game. I swear this man just does not get it.
  16. Thank God Suppan and Sheets are going the next two cause we have to win them both. If Adam fricken Eaton can dominate this team, Cole Hamels will shred it up and down. Suppan may very well have to pitch a shutout to win tomorrow.
  17. Because hitters 2 and 3 are leading the NL in HR and RBI? My point is that sooner or later, the Brewers are going to need production from them. I love both JJ and Prince, but neither one are going to continue at the clip they are on.
  18. What's next inning look like? Estrada, Jenkins, Gross? Grounder to second, strikeout, pop out to left field. Goodnight.
  19. Dont look now, folks, but were three outs away from starting out 1-4 on this little three week "test". And we havent even gotten out west yet. Yikes.
  20. How does this team lead the NL in runs scored with one of the poorer lead-off and clean-up hitter combinations in the NL?
  21. Now that its 3-2, and Spurling just threw his best inning of the season, look for Shouse on the mound in the 9th.
  22. Well, I guess you can look at it this way...we've stolen a couple of wins so far this year, and today we gave one back. This is why its important to beat up on bad teams at home.
  23. Im not worried so much about Derrick getting shelled as I am about Yost just letting him get pounded out there and not doing anything about it. Cordero was up and ready when it was 6-4, and yet Yost let Derrick stay in and give the game away when he obviously didn't have it. Even great pitchers get shelled now and again. Good managers know when to realize it and get them out of there. He didn't let Bush stay out there and fail when he got in a jam in the 6th, but yet he hung Derrick out to dry with the game on the line in the 8th. The logic this manager has at times is just mind-boggling.
  24. Tonight is a really good example of how managers really don't win games, but they certainly can lose them. Tonight is also a really good example that the Brewers need a second lefty in the pen. If there is a member of the pen to worry about a heck of a lot more than Dessens, its Shouse.
  25. This is what happens when you dont pitch regularly, and when your "routine" is interrupted. Derrick hasnt pitched in 5 days, and Yost made the absolutely @#%$ move of starting the inning with Shouse, something that Derrick has done almost exclusively all season. One word for tonight: Yosted.
