  1. Salome has been pretty good for the entire second half. I hope they do find a wayto keep him, but I think he might want a fresh start.
  2. you have to hand it to Rogers. He must have followed his rehab plan to a T. I remember hearing good things about his demeanor/work ethic while he was rehabbing so it makes sense. I'll tell you one thing, after this terricffic season for the system, the people questioning the medical staff have dissappeared. Well, Mr. Rogers, my excitment for you has jumped two-fold in the last 5 minutes.
  3. Just a tremendous season for Komatsu. More walks than K's, 26 for 33 in steals, hitting .322. Plus, he is a lefty. He did hit a lot of singles, and some question his arm and power. I still think he will end up MiLB POY. At 5'10" 190, he isn't that small either.
  4. Guys we have not heard one way or another yet that I would be interesting in: Matt Miller Maverick Lasker Stosh (you try to spell that last name w/o looking) Tim Dillard Adrian Rosario Mike Fiers Dan Meadows Jon Pokorny Robert Wooten (remember him?) Can anyone help? I think I remember Woot topping out at 90 working mostly 87-89. I'm pretty sure Isom/Hook recently stated that Efrain Nieves tops out at 90-91.
  5. Bucci reportedly can touch 92. (See the 'Your T-Rats' thread.)
  6. I am getting the same editor as BK from my iPhone. Still, just 1-2 months ago, I couldn't post/edit anything from my phone.
  7. I have to say I was not aware of that.
  8. Along with N. Korea, I def. think Europe and Africa are incredibly untapped. I know baseball is a niche sport across the Atlantic, but why can't we open a baseball acadmey there? Is it really just lack of resources? Or is there zero interest in baseball in Africa? I know the Twins recently signed a young Euro named Max Kepler (I think he is 16). There must be others worth a look.
  9. Almost makes me wish there was a DH in the NL. This is unrealistic, but maybe Gamel will start 3-4 times per week via days off for Hart/Fielder/McGehee/Braun. That would be a lot of moving around though.
  10. That is interesting indeed. Still, the competition in the Pioneer League is at best equal to a solid D1 program. Miller and Ross in particular have been more successful in Montana then they were in college. The optimist in me would like to attibute that to biomechanic/coaching, but who knows.
  11. Jdoz! Katin with a huge game. Lamontagne looking nasty so far. Lawrie is slumping a bit. Peralta falters a bit (a lot). What a game for WI. Davis, Davis, Dykstra, and Dennis with big games. Kentrail in particular is doing wonders with the T-Rats. Matt Miller was decent. With that offense, that's all you need.
  12. Scarpetta was so-so. I like the 4:1 K:BB though. Khris Davis (HR) and Dennis (2B) with XBH's for Appleton. Edit: D'Vo appears to have stolen home today! Rattlers up 6-1.
  13. Haha, yea, or if he could field his position. Carlos is still young, so he could still mature impressivly. I'm willing to give him another 3-4 years to try. Last time Ichecked the box, Fredrickson seems to have nasty stuff tonight, but the nastiness has still been attached to some wildness.
  14. I think your reading a little to much into the tone of the post DHonks. I answered the question, stated the obvious, then asked for the opinion of the guy with the question. Don't you think if anyone here knew the answer, it would be old news by now? The question is so broad in scope, that idk how anyone could answer that anyways. With that said (I probably should have just shut up), I am sorry for coming off condescending. I enjoy being a part of this community, and I would like to do as little to jepordize that I as I can.
  15. Fredrickson, and not Miller, with the start tonight.
  16. ? I'm not sure what kind of insight you are looking for here. No one freakin' knows. What do you think?
  17. Crap, is it raining in the dirty south again? Edit: yup Edit 2: top prospect, Phillip Aumont, is pitching for Clearwater against BC tonight. Komatsu welcomes him with an RBI single in the first.
  18. I miss TheCrew07 (football coach, right?). I'm excited for TC07's return, though, as I'm sure he (?) will have a lot to say about our MiLB system. Excited for Wily tonight. His season has been great, but I would love to see a 7 IP 10 K game from him. On another note, I noticed Hunter Morris played some LF, and had an assist, last night. That tells me that the organization sees him and Dennis as rough equals when it comes to their futures. I think that is about right. Holy Helena! Would love for Miller to be solid again tonight. Edit: Btw, Wily = Willie, correct?
  19. Dan 'the Merk' Merklinger, a 2008 6th round lefty, reportedly sits in the high-80's to low-90's on most days. (h/t To poster SpaceCoastBaseball. SCB calls the games for BC).
  20. Lawrie with a BB and then his 30th steal. Impressive, but it will be interesting to see how that translates to the bigs. Does Lawrie have more Kirby Puckett in him then Kentrail Davis? Who else does he remind you of? I m curious, because I can't think of a good comp. off the top of my head. He is very, very strong, confident/cocky, hitting oriented, thickly built, but has some plus-ish speed. He is what Prince would be if he weighed a flat 200 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif. Gennett with a three bagger. Making a strong case for MWL POY unless Trout just cannot be ignored. Hunter Morris with a dinger.
  21. Peaking head up.... Maybe Invader has been as well. If so, welcome to the bandwagon. That said, next year will be very telling for Nelson, Thornburg, Miller, Ross and Holle. Can they keep it up in A/A+? From their peripherals and reports on their stuff, I see no reason why not.
  22. Chris from the blog post MH just posted: "No spectacular plays were needed in this no-hitter. The hardest hit ball for the Kernels was when Randal Grichuk lined out right to Joey Paciorek at third for the final out of the seventh inning." Thought that was interesting and awesome.
  23. Rogers did Rogers. Plenty of good and bad. The cleanup hitter for the Rays squad is 0-4 with 4 K's. I haven't ever heard of the guy (3B named Wrigley), but he is hitting fourth nonetheless.
