  1. And after striking out the side Yovani was still peeved about walking the pitcher. That's a winner right there, folks.
  2. I look at it as kind of a positive that the games haven't been sold out the last few days. How well have the Brewers fared at home during sellouts when fans were hanging on every swing and pitch? Well, they were swept in 4 games by the Cubs, 3 by the Mets, underachieved down the stretch against San Diego, Cincy, etc. I think the message that the non sellout sends is that people don't EXPECT them to make the playoffs anymore, which can in turn take some pressure off the players. Hopefully the Brewers can pick up a 1-game cushion somewhat under the radar before the Cubs' series, when it will feel like once again all eyes in Wisconsin, and the country, will be on their performances.
  3. I don't recall Yovani hitting 95 on the gun before.....and ironically he's doing it after only being 4-5 months removed from a torn ACL. His command is as good as ever. Yovani is a bulldog as a competitor and just has a great understanding how to pitch, so you had to figure he would have been fine even if he didn't have his best stuff. Remember when posters here were saying it was unrealistic that he could return to the team even for the playoffs in a relief role? Pitching isn't a very athletic activity fellas.
  4. Save that for if we sweep you on the final weekend. Hypothetical deal: The Cubs take a dive for the Brewers and we'll follow suit for game 1 of our prospective playoff series.
  5. I said I wouldn't follow the wild card race because it was too painful, but I kept one eye on the happenings, and I had to check back in to say, "yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" How good does it feel to see evil eye Ramirez, D-Lee, and the Cubs rip the heart out of our playoff rivals after doing it to us last week?
  6. You're going to need to tell me how to do that. Twirly, if you have U-Verse, the process is: Menu>scroll right to "options">channel options>hide channels>then scroll up and down to pick which channels you want to deselect>then save. I did it during the Phillies' series. I do genuinely mean when I say I want to be done with this team. Whether I stick to my guns is another matter.
  7. http://media.twango.com/m1/original/0096/6ee64c2ea0094f73a2f941a9ca625bc7.jpg I'm done watching the Brewers this year, at the very least. In fact I'm employing the "hide channel" feature through my U-Verse service in order to not accidentally catch one more moment of Brewer baseball. Anytime I hear the team being talked about on the radio, I'm going to change the station as soon as possible. I'm not going to read another sports page until after the season. If by some miraculous turn of events the Brewers make the playoffs, can Brewerfan.net provide me a service where my cell phone will automatically play take me out to the ballgame? You don't get over a loss like this. This is one of the biggest disasters in baseball history.
  8. Did that happen to the Cards too? No, they just have a bad bullpen, so they logically blow a lot of leads. Didn't necessarily have anything to do with struggling under pressure. The Brewers manage to not only blow a 4-run lead with the Bullpen, but also make mistakes on defense, and squander a runner on third and nobody out situation in extras. That's what makes it a product of a loser's mentality. Players in all areas doing the opposite of what every situation requires.
  9. The Cubs are acting like this is extra innings of the 7th game of the World Series. I'm not saying try to lose but it's a bit silly to be getting angry enough to be thrown out in a virtually meaningless game.
  10. This has happened to the Cardinals repeatedly this season.Nope. That happened in the middle of the season. Completely different level of pressure and stakes. This didn't happen in any of the seasons where they were in a playoff race late I'm sure. Do people need to be punched in the face with the fact that we have unique ability to bend under pressure when the stakes are high? Surely, I shouldn't have to convince a Brewer fan anymore. Where have you been the last 17 years? Same teams choking as last year: Brewers and Mets.
  11. I don't know why people were not more enraged by that when it happened. Why the heck wasn't he diving? We had nothing to lose. It was absolutely inexcusable and he should be benched at least one game for that action. Send a message that lack of urgency by any player will not be tolerated.
  12. Any Brewer fan who would ever judge our chances of making the playoffs based on uniform playoff odds for all teams is clueless. Do you really think this crap happens to the Astros or the Cardinals?
  13. Rickie Weeks acting like his bat is a member of the petrified forest in a key spot again.
  14. I might quit being a Brewer fan if they lose this game. Braun should be benched for going half speed after that baseball.
  15. Why would Braun go half assed after a ball when the Cubs just need baserunners. He should be diving, not playing cautious like he was trying to prevent an XBH.
  16. Striking out with a runner on third and less than 2 outs, I like to call that "Brewer Classic".
  17. The Milwaukee Brewers' Franchise: Fail
  18. Yost once again bats two players who have no chance at hitting a homer, when he's down one run. I can see Counsell's gritty battling with one out, but Kendall with 2 outs was just inexcusable. I can't believe one kid on here after the St Louis series when we had a 3.5 game lead in the WC, said that our lead was insurmountable. What a bandwagon fan. If you've followed the team through all the lean years you have to be at least a bit skeptical until the team immediately behind is all but mathematically eliminated. Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us 15 times, shame on us. We're not a franchise capable of being comfortable in the frontrunning role until we overcome our drought. It's no coincidence the Red Sox didn't breakthrough against the Yankees and make the World Series again until they were trailing 3-0 in the NLCS. World Series was to the Red Sox as the playoffs is to the Brewers. It's going to take some futility from our chasers to prevail because it's not like we're going to show any killer instinct.
  19. Really? You must have went to your happy place when we've collapsed in seasons past and had 15 straight non-winning seasons.
  20. He appears to be sending the message to the team yet again that CC's Cy Young/MVP hopes are more important than making the playoffs. The MLB just missed out on a nice 10-0 right there.
  21. Trenni's just happy JJ was the one who hit the walk off.
  22. James Jerry, you got a lot of atoning to do
  23. There was no question that was the correct move by Shousey!
