  1. Tied in the 9th and Yost trots out two hitters who have no chance of hitting a home run and a choker. Sometimes he's more concerned with showing favoritism towards his gritty battlers than trying to win. What are we saving Mike Rivera for, in case this goes to 25 innings and he gets hurt?
  2. Or you can think of it as: Bill Hall is to the Reds as Geoff Blum is to the Brewers. This isn't exactly a new occurrence that he's become a Brewer killer. He hit a game winner against the Crew in San Diego either last season or the one before and I've always recognized him as a pain in our ass.
  3. Great, tack on another garbage run so Russell can mitigate his importance since joining the Brewers, by citing solely his ERA. In fact I'd argue that Sabathia changed his approach once he got a sizable lead, causing his runs allowed to increase. He pounded the plate even more than usual knowing the only way he could get beaten is by walking batters. If Sabathia fades at the end of the season, or even worse suffers an arm injury, it should be Ned's job.
  4. Joke defense, that should be the end of the game. TAKE HIM OUT NOW NED
  5. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif All I had to do was post 4 words and it prompted a spirited multi-pronged defense....good show Russell. Innings eater, not waste of AB
  6. This game was over when Sabathia Rod Carewed that ball.....the rest was just for entertainment purposes.
  7. Bill took the words right out of my mouth when he declared Brady Clark's over the shoulder in Colorado circa '03 was the best catch he's ever seen by a Brewer. I wish we had Youtube back then so I could have watched it repeatedly. I'm still pissed that ESPN didn't even classify it as one of the top 5 plays by a centerfielder that year. The #1 play was a Ryan Freel over the shoulder where he caught it at more of an angle and also had one foot still on the ground when he possessed the ball. So it was more of a lunging than a diving play. What an outrage!
  8. I wouldn't call this a "problem," in that giving up 3 runs in 7 innings is a nice day's work. It's just unfortunate timing. 3 runs in 6 2/3 is not a nice day's work for an ace. It translates to a 4.35 ERA. And he was lucky to get away without more damage as a recipient of some great D and luck at the end of that inning. Sheets has been our #2 starter since C.C. arrived and he's pitched like #2.
  9. Inexcusable, especially against a tough picture when you need to manufacture runs. Cameron reaches third with Kendall up next and probabilities are we score a run.
  10. A double and single should be added to Craig's hit total for two defensive plays that many 3rd basemen would not make that inning.
  11. I like the way you're thinking. It appears the Brewers have a great shot to be 5 games ahead in the loss column for the wild card by night's end. I like being the chasers and not the frontrunners for the division title, less pressure in that role. Even if we don't catch the Cubs we can gain the wild card by catching their draft.
  12. In key situations Weeks acts like his bat is part of the petrified forest
  13. Yost might as well just kept our most reliable reliever in the ballgame if Kendall was our best option with nobody on and one out. Damn, I feel hopeless when either Kendall or Counsell are at the plate at this point.
  14. You could tell Hart was eager to swing 3-0 :{ Thankfully he reached anyways
  15. Whew, I thought that was gone off the bat or at the very least extra bases
  16. The Nationals must be aware of the fact that Rickie Weeks has been a choker throughout his career. Otherwise conventional wisdom says you don't intentionally walk such a low contact guy like Branyan tied with a RISP. Of course Rickie Weeks is a low contact guy himself, but he could gain a 2-run lead without even going yard. On a positive note, I have a man crush on Mike Rivera.
  17. 1. Aaron Rodgers 2. Ryan Braun 3. Prince Fielder 4. Barry Alvarez (still the face of UW football) 5. Bo Ryan 6. Michael Redd 7. Ben Sheets 8. Donald Driver 9. Travis Beckum 10. Andrew Bogut
  18. 1 more inning would be flat out abuse, you realize his arm could fall off while he's employed by the Brewers, right? I could see if we had a 1-run lead, but 3 runs is comfortable enough to deploy our solid closer Torres.
  19. I don't want to see evil Aramis up in the 9th against the Crew again
  20. I don't want to see anybody defending Weeks anymore. He's a choker.
  21. You got to love getting the short end of the stick with the umpires at home. If Corey was meat so was Cedeno.
  22. Weeks once again showing that he's cold blooded under pressure.
