  1. This is just another reason why I hope Melvin can somehow pull a deal off to get Buehrle. Capuano is #3 pitcher at best in my mind. When he's on he's got some of the best stuff in the league. The only problem, thats only for a few starts. When I think of a #2 pitcher I'm still thinking big time pitcher. A #2 pitcher should be good enough that he has the potential to be a #1. In capuano's case, I wouldn't say he's good enough to be a #1 pitcher on any team.
  2. ^^ I defiantly agree with the lunging part. I really noticed today in that when he was swinging he was off balance and on top of the plate when its hitting the catchers glove. And anything that he did hit was a little dribbler foul down the 3rd base line.
  3. I agree with the original poster. Every runner should matter at every time. We're a team on a rise, not a dynasty. I know that that runner might only hurt us a few times but those few in the end could really hurt us.
  4. "Because Weeks is the long term answer and an old fart like Graffy is not. Weeks will be here much longer than Graffy and has better stats this season. Their defense is about the same and Weeks is a better base runner. Thats why Weeks is playing more." Rock, your advocating that the reason Weeks is starting is because he is young and our long term answer. Weeks should not be listed as our "long term deal" in even the slightest bit. When a player comes from our farm system shouldn't mean they are here to stay. Weeks has been the downfall of the other 3 current infielders and by a long shot. Push Weeks to try harder by sending him down to AAA or have someone else start and make him come off the bench. Not showing him that even if he struggles he's our "long term" solution.
  5. Bruach I believe your statement is wrong. Weeks has prooven very little if any since being in the major leagues. The only thing he is established is the fact he knows how to get hurt, has improoving defense, and his name. Might sound dumb, but if Weeks wasnt such a high prospect he would have already been sent down and the bashing would be ridiculous. I also agree with the first poster, I rather have Graffy playing 2B then Weeks. Play the player who deserves to play rather then the one you want. Graffy has been hot lately and Weeks has been downright terrible since coming off the DL. Yet Weeks plays more?
  6. If its working why change it? Now if your looking about for changes, a la villy in the starting rotation...replace villy for bush.
  7. I might consider this if Hart didn't heat up like he did as well as Hall. At this point he'd be a better 4th OF over Gross, so if he's available cheap yeah why not.
  8. Trading for Buehrle would be an awesome move by the Brewers. If we can show that with him we are even a bigger threat to win the world series what would keep him from signing next year. Theres a lot of talk about him going to the cardinals next year (if they even have the money), but regardless he has a home close to here, chicago, so theres another incentive. In other words, get Buehrle Melvin! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. A good finish to the first half would be 3 of 4 from the pirates and 2 of 3 from the Nats...In the last 7 games finish 5-2....pretty decent if you ask me. Any sweep is just a plus from there. A 7-0 ending would just be a huge confidence booster for the 2nd half.
  10. The scariest part about this is the fact Sheets might have just started to find his strikeout groove. Also, if he cuts down on his walks teams better start finding a different way to win other then swinging the bat http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. "Stand behind Rickie. Stand behind Mench. They just havent found their groove yet. At the end of the season there #s will be where they should be." Aracko, where should his numbers exactly be at? In my earlier post I made the statement of "people need to snap back to reality". That wasnt a post meant to be rude or anything like that. I'm pretty much stating what you see is what your going to get. A lot of people expect him to be pretty darn good, and that he just hasn't gotten to that point yet. I was at the same point last year, now this year I've seen past his expectations and now realize he is what he is...nothing more then average. I hope he makes me eat my words, but honestly that'll take half a season or more not just a hot streak that will boost his stats.
  12. Hahaha I found that to be pretty funny, but dealing with New York people everyday on the phone I know they are nothing more then a**holes who would take offense to that.
  13. Does anyone else except me think he might just be an average 2B. He has shown signs of good power and contact at times, but what player doesnt. More times then none I expect nothing but an out for him, why, simple he hasn't prooven to me he can hit consistently. I don't know why but the Brewer faithful still seem to think he's the next big thing. People, this is his 3rd year. Are we still going to expect the best when the 4th, 5th, or even 6th year come rolling around. I sure think if we can get a better 2B, or a good trade for him I wouldnt hesitate to do so. I'm not saying I hate Weeks or I want him gone. I just think people got to snap back to reality and realize he is what he is....average. On another note, I like him down in the 8th spot. He's got speed so an attempted steal plus a sacrfice bunt gets a runner in scoring position. Lets just hope he snaps out of this slump.
  14. What will scotty deliver better then gywnn or gross? If we want a Scotty Po (better in this case) we can play gywnn.
  15. not a chance on gods green earth that i do that trade.
  16. 999555999, 74 mph for someone in high school is really not that fast. In all honesty thats considered along the lines of "average" to "slow"
  17. 1. Cory Hart or Tony Gywnn Jr. 2. JJ Hardy 3. Ryan Braun 4. Prince Fielder 5. Johnny Estrada 6. Geoff Jenkins 7. Rickie Weeks 8. Bill Hall 9. Ruben Quevedo
  18. i say pull the trigger 100% http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
