  1. TLB, I wasn't specifically pointing out Durham for the 09' replacement, rather using him as an example of what we could and should do.
  2. Rob, Weeks has not warranted anything for someone to say he's going to have a better year let alone a "break out" season. Last year at some point I brought up this same exact situation, yet everyone insisted this would be his year(08', once again). A year later and we are STILL saying the exact same things. Why!? How long can we hang onto him? Personally I would throw some competition his way. A perfect example, Ray Durham. I'm not using him exactly, but last years scenario made Weeks realize he's very replaceable.
  3. My guess is, if Melvin does a Cameron-Jenks swap he already has something in the waiting. In one of the other threads it does make mention Melvin has been contacting free agent CF's. In other words, it'll look like we're filling one hole by creating another, but Melvin more then likely has something cooking (one would hope).
  4. Under the ESPN insider rumor they have "Brewers hearing offers for Fielder." Can anyone give an overview of what that says?
  5. I didn't see this anywhere.... Willie Randolph high on Brewers' managerial list "Willie Randolph is expected to be among the leading candidates for the Brewers' managerial vacancy." The article basically states he's a candidate but does not go into depth, etc.
  6. how about prince's back leg moving instead of his front leg....
  7. Obviously the offense stunk it up tonight but that doesn't mean Yost, or any coach, should get a free pass. The offense won't score us 10 runs a game so some type of strategy needs to be used. Going with what Hammer had said, that move was absolutely foolish to say the least. I don't know if Yost knows this, but the Milwaukee Brewers are an MLB team, not some High School baseball team. Something my friends and I keep saying is; does Yost try to make the "hero" call in these situations verses the better option?
  8. sadly, that statement is true.
  9. Exactly why I plan on ditching Charter next year, their lack of service and committment is horrid.
  10. Now if you go the route of Dish or Direct will that include the Bucks as well or is that a separate package on top of everything?
  11. Generally I'm getting ready for work around that time so i'll defiantly check it out.
  12. MAN I lovvvvved Coco's entrance with the song and especially the video montage they did.
  13. You really shouldn't talk about good health until it happens. Now we are jinxed. As long as they didn't mention salad thongs, sneezing, or slipping ( a la Wes Helms) we should be good to go http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. Was he on the air at all? I listened to the 2 parts of the chat and didn't catch him at all.
  15. Might be a dumb question...Are you specifically looking for Milwaukee radio stations or anything MLB/Brewers related?
  16. its all depends on if the person has beer or not in their hands. otherwise, they are fair game.
  17. I'd stand up and round house kick the person to my right.
  18. Briggs you seem to forget about the other 8 innings. the 6+ a starting pitcher can pitch is even more important then the one inning a closer can throw. I could care less who our closer is if we can't have the lead by the 9th inning it doesn't mean anything. If they offered a trade of Street for Villy I'd start laughing then walk away. Villy has shown he can pitch into the 6th+ while giving us the lead. Those innings are more important then the ONE a closer can give us. Yes you need someone who can close the game, but there are plenty of individuals who we could rather sign who can fill that need. ala: gagne, dotel, etc.
  19. I see where you are going but the options we have seem to be running out. Melvin if this is a business you NEED to take a risk or two (riske does not count).
  20. you would do all that for a guy who throws ONE inning every so often?
  21. looks like a garbage for garbage deal with each side hoping one can improve.
  22. When I turn on my tv the last thing I expected to see was that. Defiantly a sad sad day for his family, friends, teammates, fans, etc. Just makes you wonder if his past was an influence in this situation or not. I know he had brandished a gun or something along those lines. On top of that from what I've been reading and hearing is that this was more then likely planned. Whoever broke in last time had left a knife on his bed and took absolutely nothing. I don't know how true this is but over on the espn board they're saying his phone lines had been cut during the incident to.
  23. nice reading up what you have to say, thanks for the updates! keep em up...
  24. yeah i saw the same segment on espn, (site your sources, no offense), i believe most was true to the point of andy pettitte, i think he will be the one to stay as well as jorge. rivera will be gone no doubt, and clemens should retire without a doubt.
