  1. Wise pitched 2/3 of an inning a week ago... i'm prettty sure he's ready to pitch again. Yost has no love for Matt Wise...but I do, I'd love to see him next inning if its still close.
  2. you what i'd love to see? like 4 more insurance runs and leave Soup in there with a cushion.
  3. that lineup gives me a queasy feeling
  4. ha Beast light I like "eating for the cycle"... thats good stuff. thats definitely what i'll refer to it as. the klements sampler would require one to buy all klements, and i think our hot dogs were some kind of "fun dogs" or something to that effect. i'll keep it in mind though if theres ever a round 2.
  5. the sausage sombrero perhaps? the golden sombrero is 4 k's right? oh well this is 5. a bunch of my friends and i all tried it... and i am probably the smallest eater out of the bunch. it wasn't pretty... but i was committed. being a pizzia guy i would think is the most harrassed profession... people have been pranking them endlessly forever
  6. I'd rather eat day old hot dogs than suck down a chorizo. The combination of spices on those things just doesn't do it for me. Last tail gate I went for it all and had a hot dog, brat, italian, polish, and a chorizo (btw there should be some kind of sweet name for doing this). Maybe it was the fact that I had just eaten 4 sausages before it, but I just didn't like to chorizo. But anyways... happy chorizo bobblehead day!
  7. Thats what I'm saying.. the 90 year old woman who has listened to Ueck for decades is more of a fan than any of us. She's got that tenure. Sabermetrics is just another way to analyze a game, it's a tool... some people act like it's a religion and it drives me nuts. In my opinion, the greatest fan in the world doesn't need to be the most knowledgable... they just gotta have the love for the game.
  8. I agree it has to be Villanueva if its long term, but this seems like a wait and see type of injury. If there no tear or break in the MRI, they won't have much of an idea how long he'll be out. So how do you decide then? Especially if the diagnosis is whenever Sheets feels comfortable, could be 1 start could be 4. I had a hairline, tiny, little break in my thumb about a 2 years ago... and it still affects me when I play basically any sport. Its really annoying, and not something I can get fixed. I sure hope its nothing like that, and its just a sprain.
  9. I loved the pinch hit last night. Ned has always been a "stick with em" kinda guy... but sometimes you need to do whats best for the team and sometimes you also may need to send a message. I think last night was both of those. Theres only so much coddling he can do with the players...a little wake up call for rickie may have some benefit. Not to say he isn't trying, but stuff like last night tends to have a positive affect on a guy like Weeks I think. I don't think he's the sensative type who takes offense, I think he's the type that it will make him want to bounce back just a little more.
  10. It sucks to see Ben with another injury but I'm more excited to see Yo or Villy pitch that any other SP right now. That article does make it seem like Yost limiting Gallardo's innings is top priority.
  11. Stevo... you do have good content, I think your blog is top notch. I ready your stuff from time to time and feel like you've taken the words outta my mouth. p.s. my blog is the best .... jk
  12. called it. thats the only time i've ever been pleased with his standard slow gounder. good call on the pinch hitter for weeks. but i bet they IBB him.
  13. time for a patented gwynn slow roller to move him over
  14. Thank you umpire. That went from having 2 on and 1 out to... out of the inning...huge.
  15. It's like that for me too, the game isn't on the guide. But it was the same for the last WMLW game... they showed it but didn't have it on the schedule. I just figured it would be the same again today, and it was.
  16. what is that now? 4 or so warning track shots???
  17. I'd say minimum 1 start he misses for sure... I could see him coming back after that or missing 4 starts. who knows? It sure doesnt sound as bad as I initially thought when watching. Just because Yo pitched tonight doesn't mean he has to make the next start. Villanueva could very well take the rubber too in 5 days. I guess it depends on the upcoming games and how much the pen is needed.
  18. I just may break my TV and then drive to FSN headquarter and break all their necks... this commercial break in the middle of pitches business is spiking my blood pressure to say the least.
  19. From medterms.com: Distal: The more (or most) distant of two (or more) things. For example, the distal end of the femur (the thigh bone) is the end down by the knee; the end more distant from the torso. The distal bile duct is the far end of the cystic duct, the end away from the gallbladder. And the distal lymph node in a chain of nodes is the most distant one. The opposite of distal is proximal. Edit: BA just said its the knuckle right under the fingernail which makes a lot more sense.
  20. Gallardo or Villanueva? One could make an arguement for either. I vote Gallardo... and I would say that even if he didn't fill in so well for Sheets today. I think Ned values Villanueva out in the pen too much to move him.
  21. Wow I almost just ate my words there...Gwynn gave it a ride, and probably would have been gone yesterday.
  22. I'm cut to a commercial again... come on home run! Edit: haha I forgot Gwynn was up
