  1. Jenkins has been streaky forever though. I think I am basically numb to his same old routine we've witnessed for years. so it's tough to be frustrated with him when its been so expected.
  2. Then why did he look at his finger/hand the inning before? Its possible he tweaked it earlier in the game and just made it a lot worse on that one pitch.
  3. BA informs us Braun has a chance to score from first if Jenks hits a gapper.....talk about gettin ahead of yourself.
  4. Yeah I'm in Green Bay with Time Warner and they always cut out at terrible times and I missed the entire Hart homer. I just don't get it.
  5. Is it just me or does Braun hit a ton of foul balls that miss home runs by not much... just pulls them a tad too much.
  6. Despite the fact someone here said Powell commented it was a blister, it just doesn't make sense. They were looking at the knuckle and he was shaking it and pulling on it. The trainers were even pulling on it a little...and they were clearly not looking at the inside of his finger.
  7. Are you making fun of yourself there Jason?
  8. that was freaking ridiculous. fsn didn't even show the homer, they were on commercial. that is what happens when you cut out mid at-bat. fsn i hate you.
  9. I'm almost positive that Weeks has been making up his mind on whether or not to swing before the pitcher even releases the ball.
  10. thats because you're probably watching it on wmlw in the milwaukee area i'm guessing. if you're watching on fsn they cut to commercials at terrible times... always.
  11. If its main broadcast is on WMLW, is the FSN camera crew and production people still there? or is the same people? because how the cut to commercials i picture an wmlw crew and some guy at fsn sittin there pushin a button cutting to commercials whenever he feels like it.
  12. mlb didn't always turn a blind eye to cheating... in fact there used to be a time when baseball made efforts to be pure and above cheating. they drew the big crowds "naturally" for years and years... until slowly this wasn't the case anymore, and before you know it baseball wasn't as popular. ...then all this shady business started with steriods and such "puttin the meat in the seats". its not just chicks that dig the long ball.
  13. I know there is probably some decent statistical analysis one can do on this topic. So these comments may not be exactly what you're looking for... But, there is no way I could be convinced otherwise that a home run is not the best possible outcome for every single at-bat. Therefore I just don't buy into any arguement that a team can be relying on the home run too often. The only exception might be if a team is visibly pressing and overswinging to try and hit homers. But I don't believe that is the case with the Brewers. The only guy I think guilty of that was Jenkins every other year but this year.
  14. I don't know how anyone can not respect what Cuban does as an owner... he loves the fans, and the players. It would be some high comedy to see him fight the urge to run onto the field and argue with an ump though.
  15. Some great Rickie Henderson quotes and such: - Rickey? on referring to himself in the third person: ?Listen, people are always saying, ?Rickey says Rickey.? But it?s been blown way out of proportion. People might catch me, when they know I?m ticked off, saying, ?Rickey, what the heck are you doing, Rickey?? They say, ?Darn, Rickey, what are you saying Rickey for? Why don?t you just say, ?I?? But I never did. I always said, ?Rickey,? and it became something for people to joke about.? - In the early 1980s, the Oakland A?s accounting department was freaking out. The books were off $1 million. After an investigation, it was determined Rickey was the reason why. The GM asked him about a $1 million bonus he had received and Rickey said instead of cashing it, he framed it and hung it on a wall at his house. - In 1996, Henderson?s first season with San Diego, he boarded the team bus and was looking for a seat. Steve Finley said, ?You have tenure, sit wherever you want.? Henderson looked at Finley and said, ?Ten years? Ricky?s been playing at least 16, 17 years.? - Henderson called San Diego GM Kevin Towers and left the following message: ?This is Rickey calling on behalf of Rickey. Rickey wants to play baseball.?
  16. ahh I see graffy and negraneau... wow a little slow on that one i guess. Thats where I totally see it... I found a few pics but they commercial is way better. Yost invented an artificial heart, and now he pedals lipitor ads..... face it.
  17. Is that his name, Bob Jarvic? How can you not see the resemblance?? I think they are twins minus the hair. I don't see Daniel Negraneau whatsoever...
  18. Major league officials are just going to deny it. I don't think there's any hard evidence, because they made sure there wasn't any hard evidence. They are the ones that would have to make a ruling and we all know that isn't going to happen because it would mean they would have to admit fault.
  19. Is it just me or does this guy look just like Ned Yost??
  20. speaking of great quotes about loving baseball... i've always loved this one: "Man may penetrate the outer reaches of the universe, he may solve the very secret of eternity itself but for me, the ultimate human experience is to witness the flawless execution of the hit-and-run". - Branch Rickey
  21. I don't think his spot in the batting order has anything to do with his struggles. You think it's making him try harder because he doesn't view himself as an 8-hole type of hitter? It's possible, I don't buy it though... I think it is more likely a physical problem that is affecting his approach. I just don't think he'd be that fragile mentally.
  22. What gets me is that it was reported major league officials warned the Cubs to remove their illegal bats before they were making there inspection after the Sosa thing. At this point I wouldn't be surprised by any form of cheating being revealed in baseball. It's absolutely ridiculous the way major league baseball basically has allowed so much cheating to go on. 70 bats?? thats unbelievable.
  23. Cappy was placing the ball all over the plate for 5 innings? now he has turnbowitis
  24. way to not have a pitcher ready ned...ugh
