  1. Would we ever lose? How many of the past 6 games would have had different results if they went with this plan? ___________________________________________________ As utterly frustrateing as the pitching staff (except Sheeter) is at times....the rotation/pitch staff is not the major thing that needs fixing. A single or long fly with RISP and less than 2 outs would come in handy once and a while. Not haveing 4 errors in one game sure wouldn't hurt. Scoreing runs in more than one inning, and or scoreing more than 2 runs would improve the W/L record. If the 2B could find the ball with his bat would help. And finally; not falling completely apart on the road, for whatever reason would change results alot. PS; On paper I like the idea, but as pointed out above, it destroys the BP should any unforseen pitching problem arise.
  2. I always get a kick out of these "should we look at tradeing" threads. Trade who? for what?. You of course will always take a look at any trade that would improve your club. However; it is always a risk, and all trades do not always work in your favor, no matter how carefully you do the homework. Now; look at the Crew; who would we trade that has value to another club, but would not be a lose for us? Who, I ask. The infield is set, and hopefully set for the next several years. OF, trade Hart?(HAHAHAHA), Hall? maybe, but only maybe, on a real sweet deal. Jenkins, you might get lucky and get another Jenkins out of a trade. Either of our catchers? I doubt it would be any improvement unless major cash changed hands somewhere. And spending big money this year only menas less money to spend in the off season to aquire talent for the big run next year, and the bigger run the year after.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. why would anyone have a problem having it? I don't know why either. But on just about every thread, no matter the subject, someone will inject a rip on either Graffy or Counsell.(or both at the same time). They have given the young guys days off when needed, and allowed for slight injuries to be rested, all while maintaining the flow. It is a big silver lining for this team, and I feel a few on this board just don't see it that way.( I relly relly relly am trying not to make this a vent)http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. I was going to put this in the Vent thread, and then I realised it probably actually was better here; Please stop the moaning and really silly complaints about Craig Counsell, and Tony Graffinino.(you know who you are)http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif These two guys are doing all that was and is expected of them, and probably more. Their value as utility infielders is something that a whole lot of ML teams would love to have, and they have proven it time and again. Are they starting material, hell no, they know it, DM and Ned know it, but they can fill in at two or three different positions, and the drop off, while noticable, does not lose games in and of itself. The value of veteran knowledge on a team as young as ours is an a factor that cannot be measured, and even Bill James acknowledges that it exist, just cant put a number on it. This is my thank you to Doug Melvin, Ned, Tony and Craig. (believe it or not, the Crew would be worse without them)http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. This is one game early, but for those who are going to the game Wednesday... That will be the last game we will see Prince before the All Star game. I would like to see a standing ovation for the probable starter at first base. jhart good job on reminding everyone. I hope those in attendance do a great standing O. This should be copied into tommorrow IGT too. ps. I hat teh WOAH SOLVDDD thtraed.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  6. [Any guy who can reach base three times during a no hitter can't be considered cocky.] -------------- Mothership; you should make this your signature. Very funny, and also correct.
  7. I am going to use the Vent thread in the hope that I can then get on with my day and not feel like hurting someone. Why, oh why, oh why, would you let Bush swing with no outs and bases loaded. WHY? The inning before we stranded the bases full. If Ned figured Bushy knew better then shame on Ned, his job is to make sure the guy stands there looking. If Bush thought he knew better and was going to GS the ball, then he needs a good talking to in the clubhouse. Against your division things like this just can't go on. These are mistakes that just cannot continue. This is silly stuff that is very preventable, and yet it goes on and on. Boy I sure hope this helps, as I have been furious over this one play since it occured. And if any one can give me a reasonable explanation for how this at bat was allowed to happen please feel to inform me. Thank you for the Vent threadhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. Just like a Walmart, brian cannot prevent somebody from entering his store. Sure they can. Happens all the time. (Strike one.) You can't go to the Miller factory and take a tour and just start drinking the beer for free. Yes you can. the end of every tour gets several free beers to sample. (Strike two) As a business, Brian cannot discriminate. High and outside...Strike three looking.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. If it were up to me (and its a good thing it's not), I would sit Braun and start Counsell. Braun is sure getting his feet wet in a hurry, seeing some of the best right away, and the Crew not hitting to well, I hope the pressure doesn't stunt his progress. Plus as I said in a previous post, in the small sample I've seen, Braun is a sure strike out with anything up and away.
  10. So do we see Counsell start tonight, and drive all the CC haters crazy? His splits look good. Or do you save him for a double switch? I don't think Braun has seen anyone close to Smoltz in AAA. But you can bet Smoltz has seen Braun chase the high outside pitch.
  11. The lack of any production with RISP is whats killing the Crew. Starting pitching for the most part has been above expectations. Go Sheeter.
