  1. Just out of curiosity; those that are brushing this off as just a bunch of drunk college party boys. Have you read the details that these detective feel make these cases similar? How are the smiley faces that have been found explained.? Why do some of the "drowning" victims have very little water in their lungs? Why was the name of a street in Dubuque Iowa found at the scene of a Minnesota death, and the next death was on that street in Dubuque? Lastly, would the comments be the same, if this involved forty co-eds with blonde hair?
  2. You asked about tips for veggies on the grill. The previous tip on Aspargus is a definite favorite in my family. I drizzle a small amount of good olive oil on it, a little salt an pepper and hot coals. It only takes a few minutes, and there are even grilling pans that make keeping the vegies all in one place. Try mushrooms the same way, put them on wood skewers/oil/salt/pepper and grill. MMMMMMMM,good. Grilled fresh pineapple is Great. Zuchini sqaush is cheap in season. Slice it the long way, about 1/4 inch thick. I've even grilled green beans, the same way as the aspargus. I'm not a vegatarian, but we have a large garden in the summer, and we love fresh veggies, with our grilled meats. Now I'm hungry and its still way to cold to get the grill out.
  3. 2018 There will be no beer sold at ballgames. To drink any type of adult beverage anywhere was banned in 2015. Hotdogs, brats, and nachos were replaced. There will be tofudogs, tofu sausages and tofu chips covered in yellow tofu sauce. Peanuts are available, but are sold raw, and unshelled. Stadium Sauce is illegal because the ingrediants are secret . If you even ask about Polish, or cotton candy you will be arrested. Parking is $1200, do you really have to drive? Yost was fired in 2016, but replaced by Wendy.
  4. Skitch Henderson?
  5. Chi Cubs 63 59 .516 - Milwaukee 63 61 .508 1.0 St. Louis 58 62 .483 4.0 Houston 56 68 .452 8.0 Cincinnati 54 69 .439 9.5 Pittsburgh 52 70 .426 11. Bizzaro World is right. If many on this board were told prior to the start of this season, that todays standings were where the Crew would be on August 20th...... they would say that Ned Yost is a shoe- in for Manager of the year. Instead for 6 weeks, its castrate Ned Yost day, every day all day. Every move is a mistake, every miscue on the field is his fault. He doesn't use the pen enough,oh no, he's burning out the pen. Pitch T-bow in the 8th, oh no, why did he put in T-bow, he's a head case? He should pitch Shouse to the one guy, do we need a LOOGY? Pitch Vargas, let him cruise he always wins, oh no, wht did he leave Vargas in? Man some of this gets real old fast.(Thank You BF for a vent thread.)
  6. http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smokin.gifOh I don't go there to vacation; I live therehttp://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/laugh.gif In the interest of fairness, I own a motel on the Island. But there are a few places that have smaller cottage style places that are reasonable in price. Some of the larger newer places get a little pricey (they are worth it but you pay for it too). Go to www.washingtonislandchamber.com for all the places, or email me at info@vikingvillagemotel.com with any specific questions.( I won't answer between 1pm and the last pitch of the Brewer winhttp://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smokin.gif
  7. Washington Island is still very rural/remote. Great place to moped/bike/hike or just enjoy the peace and quiet. You might not even get cell coverage unless youve got Cellcom out of GB. If you're looking for peace and quiet I can give you the names of some inexpensive places. No phone, no TVs. Just you, the wife, and a Weber grill. (and WDOR for Crew games)http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/ohwell.gif
  8. I believe the Crew is going to sorrly miss Tony Graf down the stretch run. Good Luck Tony.
  9. Naivin, you sir are a geniushttp://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/roll.gif
  10. Whats that supposed to mean? Any thoughts on that? I wonder what player said that. Could mean any number of things. First of all: It is BigUnit take it for what it's worth. Second of all: As with any second or even maybe third hand story----take it for what it's worth. Third: Could mean the players realize that the manager really doesn't win or lose games in most cases. IT IS UP TO THE PLAYERS. Fourth: No name, no quote, no tape.....BLEH Fifth: See number onehttp://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smokin.gif
  11. I am a HUGE Damien Miller fan. But, I think his days as a #1 catcher are pretty much at an end. He has the talent and the knowledge, and even most of the skills, but he's almost as old as I am.http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/roll.gif
  12. On one level I'm glad to see the frustration is there with them, because they have been putting up this "everything is fine, we're in first" attitude. All players coaches and very much managers, are taught how and what to say to various questions posed to them. This is an ongoing process, and all sports teams have media advisers that constantly update the players prior to any speaking opportunities. Why do you think most Pro Athletes all spout the same cliche's? Any player that speaks outside the line is ussually talked to about it. Only a handful can get away with it.(and they better be very good at their job)
  13. I had (have) a similar problem with an ankle. It was broken, and mis diagnosed in an ER as a bad sprain. After years of trouble, I went to an Orthaopedic Surgeon, who specialised in Sports Medicine. Find one, get a good one. Find out who the Brewers use, Admirals, Bucks, Badgers,etc.... Most of these Surgeons will see new patients. The guy you want is a specialist that the Pros use. I know from experience, they really don't charge any more than a GP, and they know what they are doing(at least in my experience.) I'm not allergic, so I can't help you there. Good Luck.
  14. Thanks brewcrew00, I'm glad its not more serious than that.
  15. I did not get to hear the pregame, did they give an update on Lopez(?) that got HBP last night. (he's going to get a few days off too I'd bethttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif )
  16. mikerollins, "according to people around here" and "I'm so glad that nobody around here is in the coaching/managing profession" lean toward the condescension category. ___________________________________________________ casey, those two lines may be leaning toward condescension, but I for one thought the rest of the comments were 100% correct.
  17. Good trade, Linebrick, Turnbow, Cordero. We have Gallarado, Villaneoeva, Para, Sheets, Capuano, Bush were set at SP. ___________________________________________________ You forgot Ballfourhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  18. A espn poster on the brewers message bard said he heard Lidge for balfour and rottino and a spec. Putting aside that its an espn poster (c'mon, thats how rumors get started)http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif , unless there was a problem agreeing on the prospect to be named later, I would think Doug M. would pull the trigger on that deal in a second.
  19. jazzy; I wasn't really referencing just yeterdays game, but the fact that just because a runner is not thrown out on a steal attempt the catcher is immediately at fault. As you point out, Bush (and youhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ) are not concerned with keeping Klesko or whomever close to 1st base. The runner gets a dandy jump, the pitcher throws low offspeed junk, and the runner advances. The catcher is just one part of the whole equation. In fact stealing second is mostly based on the timeing and speed of the pitch as opposed to your catchers ability to toss to second base.
  20. 1) Throwing out a basestealer really is more a function of the pitcher than the catcher ( I will agree that Estradas arm is a little soft). The P must keep the runner close to 1st, and not throw out of the stretch. 2) Pitcher tossing offspeed junk, won't improve the throw to second either. The catcher is more concerned with catching the ball/or blocking it than the runner. 3) Late in the game, its a 4 hit shutout, how concerned should you be with a guy moving to second? 4) Bonds was coming up, you would walk him withthe open base any how. Who cares that its a steal. 5) The ability of Estrada and or Miller to do any aspect of Catching at the ML level did not cost the Crew this game or any other. IMHO. They were stranding Weeks on base for cryin out loud.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. The Brewers are just lucky to have 2 fine catchers like they do, most every team has a black hole as a reserve, except the Twins, and maybe the Pirates. dado; you are exactly correct. I opened the thread fully expecting a rant about either " Brewers catchers/Who do we get rid of/ or some other sillyness. Both of our catchers would be starters on the majority of ML teams. Catchers are right up there with LH pitching as a commodity in baseball. I for one hope there is a way to keep Miller next year, or the drop off will sure be noticable.
  22. Guess I don't see that it's obvious. ___________________________________________________ Yes you dohttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif "Six weeks doesn't seem like a full time committment is necessarily in order yet. "
  23. Well, if you reverse the genders, ie; your roomie was the girl, and she met a guy that treated her this way.....it would seem the answer becomes rather obvious.
  24. Nice find. I for one have long wondered how you lose money in real estate in an area where land and buildings ( which pretty much covers real estate investing) was going up at mindblowing rates. Yet Larry managed to do it with millions of his brothers dollars. I don't know if Robin bailed to soon, because I am not privvy to specific investments. But I do know, that loseing money on RE was tough to do when and where they did it.
  25. Thanks Robin, I knew I forgot one.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
