  1. Great point. Great job Ashby. Let's get this one today, so we can feel a little less pressure in Pitt. I get the games count the same in the standings, but another game up on Philly would be nice. When is Trevor eligible to come off the DL?
  2. This is only the second time all season (per MLB gamelogs) that he's been used in back to back days
  3. Let's go Ashby! I've been critical of Murphy for leaving our starters in too long... if this backfires, I'll give him a pass Sure looks like Philly will have Suarez through atleast 6, maybe 7 today...
  4. Ugh, not great Collins.... Whoops on the "Willy" not sure what I was doing there ... LOL Multi-tasking at work has its disadvantages
  5. Nice job by Joey and Jackson to work the counts this inning on Suarez. Hopefully Collins or Contreras can do something with a baserunner here
  6. Great job by Peralta there. Hopefully we can work the count a bit on Suarez this inning, or better yet, get a couple runs across. Do you run Willy back out there for the 6th with a pitch count of 92? Good News can be, maybe you get 1 more inning out of him Bad News could be, if somebody gets on base, maybe you're not giving someone (Ashby) a clean inning I probably would go to Ashby for the 6th... Keep Willy fresh, and let Ashby work his magic in a clean inning
  7. Ugh.... Terrible there from Jansen, Mona, and Perkins... Good news that Durbin continues to be red hot... Bad news.... we need to string some hits together. Another runner in scoring position with ZERO outs we failed to bring home
  8. Whew! Nice to get out of that without any damage... Willy's only going to get through 5 today though (at best) The offense is going to need to do something, at minimum, work the count. Suarez only at 41 pitchers through 3
  9. Not too many times that I've been glad to see Big Game W on the mound, but following his stellar August, this is an exception. Given his consistency of late and Woody/Miz struggles, I'd be good with a Peralta (Game 1) and Priester (Game 2) start to the playoffs
  10. That is reassuring, but let's go 14-8 instead, get to a 100 wins, and make the Cubs go an almost impossible 20-2 to knock us off :) They do have a pretty weak schedule over the next week. If we can maintain our lead over the next 6 while the Cubs get 3 with the Nats and 3 more with the Braves, I'll feel pretty good up 5 1/2 with 16 games to go
  11. Please Please Please send Seigler to AAA. He made four outs in 3 ABs yesterday, while making an unofficial error in the field. I'd be OK with a DFA as well, but if he can improve in AAA, so be it, he might be a backup at somepoint down the line. I know he didn't cost us a win yesterday, but in other games he has. Bring up somebody that actually helps this team. Send down Seigler and Bauers, bring up Hoskins and Black please. Hats off to Aaron Ashby for getting us out of another jam last night and great job bullpen!
  12. Seigler continues to prove he is a liability in the field. The guy has 68 PA appearances and zero extra base hits... his OPS is .517, which for a poor defender, means you should be playing at AAA. We have better options both on the Roster and on the 40 man that Seigler
  13. We became the team with the best record because we had months of solid fundamentals during our winning streaks. Those fundamentals have been missing the past couple weeks
  14. Q looks pretty solid early. Hoping he can keep this up. When he's on, he's really a valuable asset to this club, especially with Miz and Woody struggling
  15. Nope. That rule only applied to Caleb Durbin for God knows what reason. Durbin is red hot in the past 15 games, and we're sitting him of course against a weak righty.
  16. No... we've seen the Brewers go up 5-1, 5-0, 6-0, etc.... and three innings later, we're losing Good teams find a way to get a run in from 3rd with less than 2 outs
  17. I'm good with that. Perkins is a solid player. He will be a key contributor in the playoffs. We need to get him going again. If memory serves right, he was red hot when he first joined the big league club following a rehab earlier in the season.
