Cubs in another rain delay. Hopefully MLB forces them to play all 3 games this weekend. Would love for that DH to get pushed to tomorrow. Knowing the big market bias though, they'll probably allow that final CHC-WAS game to be played (if necessary) later in the season. -
All the more reason for us not to consider our prospects to be sure things... sometimes getting the proven player is worth giving up several "maybe's"

Man... those garbage add on runs for the Cubs are going to kill us... again! With the off day tomorrow, I don't get why we use our weak pitchers like Jennings... instead of potentially being tied, we're still down 2. Hopefully we go Hader/JJ here even though we're losing.

Different style, but Miley's 12 starts in 2018 for the Crew are getting close to rivaling CC's starts in 2008... This is a small sample, but would 2/$12 get it done? His 2016 and 2017 were awful, so will there be a market for Miley with 15-16 strong starts for the crew? Or would he consider a 1 year "prove it" contract in 2019 and then try and hit it big in FA next winter if he can keep his strong 2018 going in 2019?

6-6 tonight with the Cycle. Cain and Yelich are so fun to watch.... Braun/Moose/Shaw have moments... but man the rest of the team looks awful. Hopefully CY can be a bright spot for the next 6-7 years

I realize we have him signed for 3 more seasons + a club option for 2022, which is part of what made him so expensive to acquire. That said, if he puts up two more .300/.350/.550 seasons in 2019 and 2020, does the window pass for which we can reasonably extend him (without overpaying?) I realize the Braun extension doesn't look so good right now, but at the time it was a huge boost for the franchise to make one of the best players in the league a "brewer for life", especially with the impending departure of Fielder, Greinke, etc... He'll be 30 in that final season (presumably under contract) in 2022, and turns 31 in December, 2022. If he repeats his strong performance next season, do we try and extend him after 2019? Say 4 years/$100 million? Locks in $150m in career earnings for him, and keeps him with the Brewers for his Age 31/32/33/34 seasons. Have to believe he is our franchise player/face of the franchise moving forward..

This must be the absolute worst team in MLB history with runners in scoring position and no outs, or runners at 3rd and 1 out. Beyond pathetic how this team lacks any fundamentals.

Brewers pitching overall has been a dumpster fire since the AS Break with a 4.91 ERA (13th in the NL). Lucky for us, the Cubs has been a dumpster fire as well. We are dead last with a 7.00 ERA in August (doesn't include today)

dang. i hate running into outs like that. i get the idea is to try and score if Yelich singles, but we could have 1st/2nd with 1 out right now. Not sure I understand the value of Cain running with CY at the plate

might as well get rid of stupid replay. they never get the calls right even with reply... and usually we get screwed 90% of the time if they originally had the call right (for us)

Soria wasn't our issue. If he comes in to start the inning and gives up the jack... its 4-3. When Knebel gives the Padres 4 free baserunners, not much you can do.

Pretty clear this team is done... We can't afford to keep blowing games to last place teams if we want to stay in the hunt. CC has easily cost this team 5 wins this year with his terrible decisions. We don't have the talent to overcome giving away wins like this.
