  1. Way to Go Perkins!!!!!! Never doubted ya (:P) Seriously though, for how much he's struggled since returning from the bereavement list, that had to feel good to get us on the board. Hopefully it gets him going
  2. Agreed. That was always my biggest fear as a youth pitcher (getting drilled by a comebacker or linedrive) Sometimes you can naturally react, but kids don't hit the ball as hard/fast as grown men
  3. Great analysis. I wonder if Murphy looks at stuff like this. For a guy that sometimes leaves our starters in long enough to start fires...
  4. Alright boys.... bases loaded, 1 out. Let's cash in please and take advantage of opportunities this time. Though Perkins is about the last person we want at the plate
  5. Man, the Cubs and Phillies really aren't giving us any help, each going 7-1 in their last 8 Last night was a clean, comfortable victory. Hopefully we have 2 more easy wins versus the Halos. Looking at the remaining schedules Philly (after tonight) has a cakewalk. I expect them to go 8-1 (or better) in their final 9... with a loss tonight, that gets them to 99-93 Cubs, I could see 3-1, 2-1, 2-1 to finish the season, that would leave the Cubs at 95-67. They've been on a roll lately though, and that 7-3 finish could easily be a 9-1 finish (which would make them 97-65) To keep the 1 seed, feels like the Brewers need to - win the final 2 against the hallos - win 2/3 versus the Cards - get atleast 1 win in SD - win the final series against the Reds 7-4 probably gets us the #1 seed, 6-5 probably get us the #2 seed, 5-6 or worse might get us the wildcard (and deservedly so)
  6. Q made some solid contributions to this effort this season, but I wouldn't want him on the mound in a playoff game that matters. Let's win tonight and keep the pressure on the Cubs and Phillies!
  7. Hard to complain about this one. Let's win a game easily gents. Would sure feel good to pick up a game today on Philly after how close they were last night to climbing within 1 game in the standings
  8. This is how I feel as well. PC/Mac/Fick have ruined Badgers Football. Though maybe it was going to get ruined anyways with this NIL stuff and a complete lack of continuity. In the 1990s, 2000s, and probably the first half of the 2010s, I never missed a big game, Badgers or not. I could tell you most of the Badgers 2 deep in any given season and it would be fun to speculate on who might be the next to take that next step. How things are too focused on style over any substance. Our team is lousy and everything feels "fake" to me. As a whole, I think NCAA football is failing. As older milleneals, and Gen Xers get older and have more interesting options in life, I think the "always bigger" TV contracts are going to go the way of the dinosaur, and the current system will collapse. Outside of the deep south (which sports wise has nothing beyond SEC football), I just see the country viewing CFB is a big "meh". If you take the focus away from building continuity in a program in CFB away, you are left with the NBA G-League, or maybe, at-best, MILB. Nobody pays attention to either of those leagues.
  9. Probably the usual "surrender lineup" today. I know many have posted that they don't see a big difference between the 1 seed and 2 seed. I respectfully disagree. The #2 seed will most likely face the Dodgers in their first playoff series. The Mets/Cubs don't have the same firepower as LA. All three have been struggling as of late, but I'd rather force Philly to play LA. We might get lucky and earn an NLCS matchup with LA instead of Philly. With how hot the Phillies are right now, I want nothing to do with them in October. But first things first, we have to get right. It starts by bringing everything we got today. We had the day off Thursday, another day off tomorrow, another day off next Thursday, and then, if we clinch #1 or #2, a bunch of time off the week later. No reason not to bring our A game and best lineups to close this thing out.
  10. I'm assuming this was meant to be in BLUE? Monsterio was red hot in August, but since then, Murphy has only started him once, and according to https://www.mlb.com/player/andruw-monasterio-655316?stats=gamelogs-r-hitting-mlb&year=2025 he only has five plate appearances in September, including yesterday's walk off. So if you're complaining about Monasterio not getting enough opportunities, I agree. Place blame on our manager where it belongs. Andruw should be getting atleast 2-3 starts a week right now
  11. Perkins past 15 games... .128/.212/.170/.392 Yikes.... he was seeing the ball pretty good before taking leave, but just hasn't been the same player since he returned from bereavement. Not knowing what he went through & understanding his loss, I get that baseball might not be the most important thing right now (nor should it), but his bat has been killing us. That said, his defense at a premium position is so good, maybe he can contribute effectively in that way even if he's a blackhole in the lineup
  12. I agree Turbo, but not sure on the alternative tonight? Bauers isn't playing, and if Collins was in there, either Chourio or Frelick would need to be in CF... I think I read somewhere that they are being pretty cautious with JC and thus far have been playing him in LF I think we can all agree that Collins is a massive offensive upgrade over Perkins, regardless of a RHP or LHP, but Perkins has been playing lately for his defense. To your point on Bauers... I'd love to see Bauers and Seigler get sent down, with Hoskins and Lockridge coming back up. Lockridge seemed to be decent in CF earlier in the Summer, and his hitting was much better before being sent down than Perkins
  13. Feels good to have Yeli back in there.... let's go boys, foot on the gas. No stopping until we've secured the #1 seed
  14. Agreed. It would have been a big statement to keep Detroit out of the end zone today... we basically did it for 59 minutes, but one of my biggest MLB gripes over his career has been the inability of MLF teams to close
  15. Not sure I'm with you on that one... I hope we can win one, but I think MLF is a bottom half coach in the NFL
  16. Great play for his first game in the NFL
  17. Looks like Parsons has 4th quarter energy to me :P
  18. When Hafley starts getting HC offers, can we just let MLF go and promote JH to head coach.... asking for a friend
  19. GREAT game defense. GREAT game. Well done Micah Parsons and DC Hafley
  20. McCarthy would have kicked. I'm glad MLF didn't
  21. Cmon MLF... can we hire an offensive coordinator to call the plays please
  22. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jacobs! LFG
