  1. They took him out after 7 innings, with the Nationals-record 14 Ks; and now the Nats radio team says the crowd has grown quiet.
  2. Well, he didn't say the Brewers were THE classiest.
  3. A STL fan I know speculated that STL might try to sign Soup..."he's a typical Dave Duncan project." I don't even want to think about that, or the reactions around here (and in my head) if this happened and were successful.
  4. I'm not looking to be a Sveum apologist, and I don't have evidence one way or another, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this were the case.
  5. On a less snarky note, I wonder if this puts an end to the Soup's Troops promotion. Though it was beyond time for the release, it would be unfortunate to have that end mid-season.
  6. I swear to God, as I was reading about this on a laptop in the Union, this song came up on the Rathskeller jukebox: June 7, 2010: Soup Freedom Day. Thanks for trying, Jeff.
  7. At the library last week, a guy called to pay a library fine, but was obviously talking to someone else when I answered. Then he said, "sorry, I just saw someone I knew." Dude, you want me to help you or not?
  8. Huzzah! The Classies still haven't swept the Brewers in STL since 2003 (a factoid cited on the radio broadcast tonight). Manny Parra gets the radio team's star of the game, and I agree. Manny - dude - you've got to remember how you pitched tonight, and keep doing that.
  9. Lately, everything concerns me regarding the Brewers. Still, come on, John. We need you to be effective.
  10. Well, you helpfully provided that clip early in the IGT, so at least we will be prepared. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif And PrinceEatMeat, you make it sound like you understand Macha's bullpen moves in other games.
  11. Yeah, in a sad way it beats being shut out, almost no-hit and losing by 8.
  12. I hate the Molinas. That includes the day (someday) when the Brewers sign one who's well past his prime.
  13. That was an excellent way for John Axford to break an unwritten rule of baseball. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. My guess is that Tuesday's pow-wow will probably have a more short-term focus.
  15. Well...it'd be nice if Narv-dog could keep things in check. Come on, Chris.
  16. If you'll excuse my asking...if you're only watching Yo's games, why are you posting in between?
  17. The tornado sirens just sounded in Madison, and we can't tell why. The radar shows a spot of red north/northeast of Madison, maybe clipping Madison's north side, but TV, radio and weather radio show no warnings. Edit: now there's a special weather statement online and on TV indicating a strong thunderstorm near Sun Prairie moving northeast. "Funnel clouds, pea sized hail, winds greater than 30mph and brief heavy downpours are possible with this storm." Siren worthy, but not warning worthy. Hmm.
  18. I'm starting a theory that Macha wants out and as such is not averse to trying weird lineups. How is a pitcher with an ERA over 6, who got beaten up by the Cubs, even still on the Classies' roster?
  19. I can imagine others of the current Brewers' pitching staff returning to form, or at least improving on 2010, on other teams. But I can't imagine that with Jeff. And the next two games are nationally televised. /tempted to sob/
  20. You don't think Diego would be motivated to outclass his former team? Otherwise, I'm with you in hoping for something resembling respectability. What's classier: making your opponent look extra good, or bringing a game that could be described as "competitive"?
  21. Come on, Prince. Just keep the inning alive. Edit: ...okay, Corey? Never surrender? Summon the power of the tats?
  22. The Brewers want Dave Bush to be Joe Inglett's personal pinch-runner. That's it. That's the ticket.
  23. I'm just going off memory, but isn't Dave's record vs. CHC nothing to write home about? Or is it even worse vs. STL? Like others, I'm just trying to figure out what field management is thinking.
