Some of you know that I work at the Wisconsin Historical Society in Madison. We're currently between museums right now, with a fancy new one under construction. There's a ton of planning underway for what will be on exhibit in the new building, including a small display of items that represent Brewers tailgating. My museum colleagues asked for my help on this part because they know I follow the Brewers closely, but in all honesty we don't tailgate very often, given how many games we attend and the 156 mile round trip each game involves.
If you have Brewers items* that you'd consider parting with, so they could be included in the exhibit and thus officially part of Wisconsin history, send me a DM and I can connect you and the museum folks to see if what you have matches what they're looking for and can fit in the exhibit space. (The museum also accepts loans of material if you want to have the right to call it back. I can't speak completely confidently on this point, but for a sense of timing, the museum is currently scheduled to open in 2027.)
*Examples of items they're looking for: Flags that have flown over a tailgate, apparel (shirts/hats/jackets/etc) that have been worn to a tailgate (better yet if they are tailgate themed), a Brewers-branded cooler (even a stadium giveaway), maybe a little retired grill... almost anything that if you see it, you think "tailgating for a Brewers game." They are also interested in Uecker memorabilia, though I told them that nowadays, folks are pretty much going to hang on to whatever Ueck stuff they have.
If you're a Twitter/X user, I can also be reached there, and my handle is in my profile on the left.
Thanks for considering this!
