  1. I get both google-analytics and googlesyndication. I think it started around the time I began noticing "animated" ads across the bottom of the page. I've been chalking up the slow load times to my dialup connection, but it's occasionally pokey when I have access to a high speed connection too. (I use mostly Firefox 2.0.0.4 at home and mostly IE 7 at the library.)
  2. But it's nice to know that if they play .500 ball the rest of the way, they'll finish with 88 wins. Weren't we struggling to come up with that kind of stat in a chat early in the season? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. Buh bye. My knee-jerk reaction is one of general happiness.
  4. Yeah, today is just about the easiest time to extrapolate, because you need only double the W and L numbers. JSOnline today lists the Brewers as being on pace to finish 95-67. (don't mean to pile on)
  5. A series win would be very nice, and would even up the season series correct? Yes. The Brewers' current record vs. the Cubs this season is 5-6. So far, each series has gone 2-1 in favor of the visitor; and I believe in the series before this weekend's, the visitor has won the first two games, then lost the finale. I know I'm hoping for an even series by the end of the afternoon.
  6. Loretta certainly seems durable, as he survived that shin collision with Prince. My heart says "oh, please", because I've always liked him as a player - not unlike the way I like Cirillo. But I won't base my future happiness on such a transaction.
  7. During the 2005 World Series, each fan attending game one got a XM Satellite radio, well actually a voucher for a free one as well as a commemorative pin. Wow! OK, I at least feel comfortable predicting that a local (i.e. home team) SGA is unlikely in a postseason game.
  8. Hats off to the boys for this response. Indeed. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Welcome to the 40s, uecker9. C'mon, Brewers, bounce back. We know you can.
  10. I have already posted this link in the article tracker thread, but I think it is also worthy of the silver lining thread. It is from The Capital Times in Madison: Link
  11. the current jerseys/logo preceded Miller Park Not to be a total devil's advocate, Peavey, but I think the current jerseys/logo were intended to debut with Miller Park. 2000 would have been the inaugural season for MP, but for the crane accident. Otherwise, I agree with your post.
  12. Ned Yost in his catchers uniform? Zach, zach, zach. Obviously Ned Yost swinging the bat! Preferably with a Green Monster accessory. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I doubt that SGAs would happen in the playoffs.
  13. Todd Finkelmeyer's "Hit and Run" column (that runs Saturdays in Madison's The Capital Times) is often more negative than I'd prefer. But today he made me feel downright better: Link
  14. Wording carefully to not be presumptuous... I'd be surprised if any team in the playoffs would be allowed to wear the equivalent of the Brewers' retro uniforms. If the Brewers were in a postseason, I'd be content if they were allowed to wear the navy tops (my favorites).
  15. I'm glad people are still posting in this thread!
  16. If Jimbo doesn't post here by, say, the end of the weekend, you might try to reach him by PM. He has run marathons (the most recent being some big city in Massachusetts in April; I just wish I could remember the name) and I bet would be glad to talk to you about it.
  17. I was all set to post a lame attempt at reassurance, such as "It could be worse. Think of the bf.net posters who were at today's game!" Until SeriesFinale posted those pictures. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/sick.gif Ew. (send those to the Brewers, for 'bulletin board fodder.')
  18. It would be nice if the Brewers didn't suck in front of a broadcast TV audience. So I can see where you're coming from, Chgo.
  19. Don't you people have a mercy rule or something?
  20. And every time I'm at a game and he starts.. I talk mad smack about him and bam. He does something clutch. Sorry to pile on, Sgt, but don't stop the mad smack. In fact, maybe we should have some designated smack talkers - one for each Brewer on the 25 man roster. Jamie can be the manager of team smack talk.
  21. This shouldnt feel like the biggest series of the year but it sure does. Ah, then the media hype machine is doing its job! Let me try for some more negative cub mojo...ah, here's an oldie but goodie: Link, with all due respect to Rod Beck
  22. I dreamt of cub hatred overnight. The Brewers blew a 20-9 lead and lost 30-29. I told the S.O. that I hated the cubs. Fortunately, my dreams are usually too weird to have much chance of coming true. So I will be not only surprised, but horrified if the score of this dream does come to pass.
  23. So I totally thought this was a metaphor. Just another way to keep Brewerfan beautiful. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. Thanks. This all helps confirm my hunch. I'll probably still check when we are at the park on July 15 (assuming the roof is open).
  25. While at a bookstore today I saw a title whose cover could maybe supply some negative cub mojo: http://www.uta.edu/english/sla/images/miraclecollapse.jpg It's a good read. (Shameless plug: My library has a copy of this book)
