  1. At least we won't be kept in suspense about next year's schedule very long. That, and I can get a magnet schedule for once, without having to be at the drunkfest known as opening day. Am I naive to wonder whether there's a place for Sarfate tonight? (on the field) or maybe should have been sooner?
  2. 2007 magnet schedules available at the September 23-24 games. Woot!
  3. Graffy is due tho Everyone is due. The franchise is due. You know what I hate about games like this? They make everyone whose attention switches to football this time of year feel like they made the right choice.
  4. lets hope im waay wrong and the brewers mash em... I'd settle for just outscoring the 'Stros. To hijack slightly, Daron just announced that Rocket is a scratch for Saturday's game. But that's tomorrow. Go Brewers, tonight.
  5. Hooray for Sharpie. I hope Doug pitches at one of our last three games this season. Double hooray for Corey. Never surrender!
  6. For 10 games we forget how to play baseball at even a Little League level, and suddenly we pick up right where we left off with Colorado. I don't get it. I was thinking this too - maybe not verbatim, but still. It's like the 10 crappy games never existed. Almost. Imagine the fervor on this board had it....ah, never mind. Just enjoy tonight.
  7. Haha tomwopat I just recognized your picture dealy. Brant Brown lol. September 23, 1998. Never forget! (Did you get that from the SI.com link I post every Brant Brown anniversary, tomwopat?)
  8. Wasn't the last 3HR Prince's in that sweep clinching game with Colorado on August 24? (Remember? There was hope then?) I had a perfect vantage point for the entire arc of that hit, which will be one of my favorite memories this off season. Hey! Sharpie didn't give any runs back immediately! Woohoo! I'll answer my own question. Daron's at his grandmother's funeral. While I'm not gladdened by that news, I am glad you posted it, because I was distracted right at the moment it was explained on FSN.
  9. Plenty of BP fans. The terrace corners filled up, which (as seasoned terrace veterans like Shampoo and I can attest) doesn't happen unless it's a BP redemption day, a kids/seniors day or a general sellout.
  10. And nice throw by Hart to nail the runner at home. That was a huge turning point. You've got that right. I think I was so stunned/relieved to see a win that I wasn't dwelling on the details. Props to Corey (never surrender!), as without his throw the game would have been tied, and who knows where the momentum would have gone.
  11. Today was our 12th win in 19 games attended (with three to go, so the hawing ticket has clinched a winning record, yippee). The Brewers also manage to avoid a 100-loss season with today's win. Whoo-hoo. It was just nice to see some effective baseball. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g270/hawing/Brewers%20-%20General/100_0348.jpg In case you'd forgotten what a winning (brief) box score looks like. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Dave Bush takes on this dude who's six weeks younger than hawing. See (some of) you at the ballpark.
  13. Having to trash my plans for my future because of a sickness. Robin19, I'm sorry to hear it. I'll hope for the best possible outcome for you.
  14. On the radio, I can hear "It's Getting Better" by the Beatles being played at the park. Wish I could believe that.
  15. But hey - the fans are still cheering for Vinny.
  16. If Ned Yost dare not have Cirillo and Fielder in the lineup tomorrow when I'm at the game You and I both. Plus the pitching matchup is Bush v. Maddux. This'll be a sight. (No offense, Dave.)
  17. Not to diminish your frustration...but the Brewers would have to get regular attention from MLB and the media before they could qualify as the laughingstock.
  18. When Uecker says "This one is out of hand", it's a new low. Edit: He also said "this is getting ugly. Ugly."
  19. This is sad. It would be laughably bad if it were someone else. Shouldn't there have been a players-only meeting or something, like a week ago? How do you even start to turn this kind of crap around? (Rhetorical questions. No need to answer.)
  20. Hey, In Saturday's game it took a couple of hours to get to 16-17 posts! The bf.net spirit is back. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif Edit: My bad. 18 posts!
  21. Dear Brewers: Please play better today. No one likes double digit losing streaks. Love you lots, hawing.
  22. Anyone remember when the last time that happened was? JP just cited a 12 game losing streak in 2004.
  23. Russ, crunch your numbers and post the probability of the Brewers finishing 62-100. Even with these guys, the % is probably low, and that might make me feel a little better.
  24. I'm wondering about these bullpen choices tonight. Why burn Coco in the 8th? That's not in the manager's book. and why roll the dice on a second inning for Turnbow?
  25. 72-90 here we come. You're a cockeyed optimist. I've begun to fear 62-100. C'mon, guys, let's push this to a page two.
