I think it's alright to open these threads and say "hey here's some stuff that people said about this trade". As long as it's not done in a really mean spirited way. I've been right, and I've been wrong. I didn't like the Lind trade, because the guys we got back were all no-names. That one worked out ok, (so far), and Adam Lind is pretty much looking for work now. -
Baez has a great reputation as a flashy/well regarded defender, so I don't think that's a plus in Yelich's column.

How do you start 30 games, pitch nearly 7 IP per start, have an ERA of 1.78, and have a record of 8-9? I KNOW the answer is "because Mets", but still...... that's beyond belief almost.

This post made me curious obviously. Zoilo Versailles won the AL MVP in 1965 with a .273/.319/.462 slash line. Yuck and a half. Marty Marion won the NL award in 1944 with a .267/324/362 slash line. He must have been a HECK of a defender.....

True, but it's good to learn from mistakes too. A lot of analytics had Yelich pegged for a power surge at Miller Park, and they. Analytics actually didn't peg Yelich for much of a power surge at all. As mentioned his launch angle wasn't all that significant from his swing. Thus simply moving to Miller Park wasn't going to necessarily give him a big power surge. The big power surge was on the assumption he would change his swing to favor Miller Park a bit more. I don't know if that is the reason for his surge or not though. I think that is a fair assumption though, isn't it? If you play in a park that doesn't cater to LH power, why would you go up there and try to hit flyballs?

The only thing I saw was one poster in an IGT call him overrated. I think it was immediately after he bounced into his second double play of the game. Perhaps misguided, but somewhat understandable. I saw (again, not just on Brewerfan), more than a few people question why he wasn't hitting for more power, a lot of comments that were "I thought he'd be better once he got out of Marlin's Park"... nobody calling him outright "bad", just more of a sentiment that he should be a superstar in the making (which he is......of course)

I think around the all-star break, there were people (not just on Brewerfan) saying that Yelich was "disappointing" because he was hitting "only" .290-ish with not a lot of power or RBI's and he was hovering around an .820 - .830 OPS.

I just finished season 1 of Lost in Space on Netflix, and I liked (didn't love) it. They made a few changes to the formula, enough to make it fresh. Definitely worth checking out. I binged season 4 of Peaky Blinders this week, and that's made its way into my top 5 favorite shows of all time. The ending of Season 4 pretty much left me speechless. Cillian Murphy's portrayal of Tommy Shelby is brutal and amazing. Adding Aidan Gillen and Adrian Brody to the cast for season 4 was fantastic.

Stearns seems like the type of guy who's going to let other clubs pay players well into their 30's. We haven't seen it yet, but giving players extensions well into their 30's just doesn't seem like his type of move at all.

Black Mirror is great...if you can get through s1 ep1. Peaky Blinders on netflix is fantastic. A lot of the netflix/hulu/amazon original content is really good. Depe ds in your tastes. I got through 4 seasons of GoT and called it quits.

Braun would be a downgrade in RF compared to Phillips for sure, but probably on par if not an upgrade on Santana. Santana had a higher BA, OBP, and SLG than Braun last year. As Santana moves into his prime, and Braun continues to age, I see no reason that wouldn't continue. Santana isn't a good defender, but at this point, neither is Braun. Santana was a 3.0 WAR player. i'd put good money on him being a 3.0 to 3.5 WAR player again this year. I don't know that Braun is going to be that kind of a player going forward anymore.

Does BF1 have a single player campaign? WW1 would be a really interesting & new story to explore Yes. It's great, if not a little frustrating at times.

I also have a ps4 (whiskey7400 .... hmu) I play Battlefield 1 occasionally. I get more into the campaign mode honestly. Some great set-piece moments. I play a ton of Overwatch. Closing in on level 200. Probably one of my favorite playstation games of all time. So much better if you have at least 1 or 2 co-op team mates than just a random queued up team. Probably about 100 hours into No Man's Sky. It's good, not great, and it's certainly not bad, like the hate filled Redditors who say they were 'lied to' by Hello Games want you to believe. The game is super chill, and is even better since they added base building with the latest patch. Star Wars Battlefront was pretty good but I kind of drifted away form that after they started releasing all the paid DLC. Pretty sure I'm getting both Infinite Warfare and Skyrim for X-mas.
