  1. I am not a charter member of the Brian Anderson fan club, by I am certainly not calling for his head either. However...I love Bill Schroeder, not a popular opinion I know, but I think he is a great color man, has a ton of good Brewer stories and just seems like a decent guy. Plus I saw him at 4th base with Tom Crean after a game last year and he was awesome to all the fans taking pictures, shaking hand, and such.

  4. I don't have a problem with him calling the game and announcing that the pitcher has not given up any hits. The way I always looked at it is you are calling the game for the public audience not us baseball fanatics that live by this superstition(like me). How else is Jane Smith from Reedsburg going to know something big is going on if she is a casual or new fan to the game. Its all about the masses not us die hards. PS... has anyone ever tried to call a game on the radio while following this rule it would sound pretty silly.

  10. Way too early to say we will not win tonight. Especially if you look at the 1st two games of this series.
  11. Velocity does not seem to be there for Benny tonight. But it is early.
  12. Wow....Sheets gave that one away not watching Skip as he walked to second base.
  13. Its over, he has to be coming here tonight. No other reason to sit LaPorta. Should we get our final trade guess's in. LaPorta Green Fermaint
  14. I think the team I am most worried about are the Dodgers. If they put together an offer around Broxton or Kemp and then include LaRoche and Hu, we could be in trouble. I am pretty sure Kemp, LaRoche, and Hu out does our offer.
  15. Interesting Note from SI.com today regarding trading for the "Missing piece" to a contending team. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/tom_verducci/07/02/verducci.storylines/index.html?bcnn=yes 4. The fallacy of the one-player-away theory. Look at the biggest trades of the offseason: The Twins traded Johan Santana to the Mets, the Marlins traded Miguel Cabrera to the Tigers, the Orioles traded Erik Bedard to the Mariners and the Athletics traded Dan Haren to the Diamondbacks. Each of the teams that dumped the star player has a better record than the team that gave up young talent to get him. If you asked me today however I would still want to make a swap. I am convinced we will get it done without Gamel or LaPorta.
  16. Over Sized Novelty Hats The Velvet Fog U 71 Package 6 Schlitz's That is my last 4.
  17. I will be there with a group of 20 on Saturday in the LF Home Run Porch. PS if you can get there early for BP in LF. The ball just gravitates that way and there is a lot of action.
  18. Does anybody know where you can get a link to the SI picture of Ned. I have not been able to find it.
  19. I am wondering if anyone knows the location of a picture of Ned Yost without sleeves. Me and my coworker have been talking about this for a while and can not find any pictures of him without sleeves. What's he hiding under there anyway?
  20. Again...if Prince is jealous and wants to get paid now the option is there for him and realisticly it would probably be in the 6 year $80 million range if I had to guess.
  21. I do not think Prince will be publicly or privately upset. The option is there for him and the only time he has been upset has been preseason, which is not uncommon for professional athletes......ala Brian Urlacher, Sterling Sharpe, Geoff Jenkins, etc. Once the regular season starts it is all business.
  22. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=darvish Did anyone else see this? He seems like he will be the next big thing to come to the MLB. Very interesting read and he seems like a Justin Verlander type pitcher. I really hope we get to see him pitch in the WBC before he comes to the US. I wonder what his asking price will be to come to the MLB considering Dice K got $50 million? Based on Dice K's success and the current trends in baseball I would think it would dip a little to the $25 - $30 million range.
  23. I would not be shocked to see Gagne today. He has pitched 3 IP in 2 days. They threw CoCo like 6 games in a row last year. Besides they can easily give him a day off tomorrow on get a way day. I would be thrilled to see Gagne today, it means we have the lead.
  24. I think my argument for the Ned Yost should NOT be fired is that the grass is not always greener on the other side. It seems that a lot of casual fans expect this franchise to go from below average for 2 decades into a perennial World Series contender now that we have a few young stud players. I believe winning needs to be learned by players and managers together. I think our younger players are still learning that and Ned and the rest of his staff is as well. Sure it would be easier to have a Tony LaRussa type Manager that has been there and back and can teach everybody how to do it. But if that kind of coach were available and not to stubborn to teach young players he would have been snatched up in the off season. Again the grass is not always greener.
