  1. I said this yesterday in a different thread... IMO, Kendall's real value is in his handling of the pitchers and his defense. Anything you get at the plate is a bonus. As long as he's not hitting .200 when August comes around, he's fine. Also, nice post by "backupcatchers".
  2. I think we'll see him getting more rest when the weather changes. When we start getting those 80 and 90 degree days. Other than maybe in the Florida series, have they played a game yet where the temperature stayed above 65 for the entire game? Catching every day when the temp is below 60 is much different than catching when it's in the 90's.
  3. Heck if he doesn't improve at the plate, those teams won't even want him. They have plenty of guys who can hit .260 w/ 25 HRs.
  4. That's two. Didn't expect him not to give up any runs. Hold them right there now. Calm down.
  5. Is Kendall already in the HOF or does he have to get to 2,000 hits? DP ball coming up.
  6. Man that stinks. Just so close. Something big is coming up thou.
  7. I'm telling ya. Tonight is a good night for Bush. Pitchin' in his home town. It's set up nice for him. How about a little base hit, Cameron.
  8. Sheets would still be getting to second. Now, how about a wild pitch here.
  9. Sorry not tonight. He's going seven.
  10. Bush was born in Pittsburgh. I didn't know that. Change that, I say he goes 7 strong innings tonight. Get him a couple of runs.
  11. Powell, shut the heck up. Bush is going 6 good innings tonight.
  12. I believe the pitching will look a whole lot better once the offense becomes more consistent and starts hitting like everyone, including themselves, thought they would. I'm not saying they'll magically be the best staff in the league by any means. But it helps a pitcher out a ton when they're out there with a 5-1 lead instead of only a 2-1 lead or being down 0-1. It's a lot easier to pitch when you have a bit of a cushion. I do think they make a trade at some point to bring in more pitching. I wouldn't mind seeing Greg Maddux in a Brewer uniform. Also a few more series against some bottom feeders, like Pittsburgh and Washington, wouldn't hurt either. If Parra could be close to what Gallardo was last year, man that would be cool. He has shown some good things his last few outings, so it's not completely crazy that he could. I hope they are somehow able to leave Villy in the pen, that would help some. I didn't think he was ready to be a full-time starter at the beginning of the season and I for sure don't think he is now. The closer situation? I don't know. How about they just win games by 4 or more runs from now on? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. IMO, Kendall's real value is in his handling of the pitchers, and his defense in general. Anything you get from him at the plate is a bonus. As long as he's not hitting .200 when August comes around, I'm fine with him.
  14. I really don't think they change managers if they still think they have a chance at the playoffs. They especially won't "bring up" a career AAA manager, and expect him to lead them to the playoffs in his first half-year. I just think Kremblas would be a "give up on 2008" move, and a test to see if Kremblas could be the manager in 2009. I believe Yost is going to be the Manager for the entire 2008 season. So the way I look at it, no sense loosing sleep over it, or pissing and moaning about it, then putting yourself in a bad mood all summer. Accept that he's the manager this year and move on. The sooner some realize that, the sooner they can stop stressing about it, and just root for the players on the field. That's all we can do as fans. At least that's the way I'm looking at it.
  15. I don't know if I'm ready to "breathe a collective sigh of relief" just yet, but I do think things are starting to look up right now. I just refuse to believe my summer is over on May 20-ish. I do think you can see little things starting to go their way. Like when Parra was pitching the other day. Not too long ago some of those balls the Pirates were fouling off would have been doubles down the line. Now maybe it's just the Pirates not being very good but I do get the feeling our team's luck is changing. As you said, Weeks is starting to get some hits to fall in there now, Cameron as well. As much as some people want to change up the lineup, I think if they are going to be successful this year, the lineup they are using right now has to be the one to do it.
  16. You feel that? That is the tide turning for this team. What's that I see coming down the road, way out there in the distance? Is that "Mr. Mo"? Is that Mr. Momentum starting to build up for this team? Let's go Crew!! Keep it going tonight guys!!
  17. Cool. Someone else who agrees with me.
  18. Considering Prince has warning track power lately and he was facing a LHP, I didn't mind it. (Yes, I know he hit one in Boston.) Sac Fly scores one, a single scores two, and you also avoid the DP, of which he's had a few of those lately. If Prince was hitting like Braun right now, then no, don't steal. But he's not hitting like Braun right now, is he? Besides Cameron was safe anyway.
  19. Sheets, the team from a confidence standpoint needs you to have an "Ace-type" performance tonight. Yes, the Crew needs that from him most every night he pitches, but especially tonight. the program that I used to compile the stats with; not compatible with vista. And what stinks is by the time everyone finds/updates their programs to work with Vista, they will probably come out with a new OS that nothing will be compatable with again. Thank you Microsoft, but I'll stick with XP for as long as I can hold out.
  20. I thought he was stretching his right arm more than usual.
  21. Parra. Why can't he turn into this year's '07 Gallardo? Why not? Early high pitch count is a concern, but he's starting to throw well lately. Yes, I'm looking for anything to stay positive about.
