    To splitterpfj: I agree with you, but don't forget about the defense. I have nothing to back this up, JMO, but even thou he's only been out there for 40 games, I'd say Braun is already a better defensive player than Lee.

    Well Hardy, you are getting your chance to not hit in front of the pitcher. Take advantage of it. However I still think you are not one of the top 6 hitters on the team and you should be batting 7th or 8th. Weeks needs a 3-for-4 day with a walk. The team needs him in the leadoff spot doing well, I don't like any of the other options there. Hart is too valuable in the 5 spot and would leave a gaping hole behind Prince if they moved him to leadoff.

    I'm opposed to signing Hart though. I think that money needs to be put into pitching. I don't know about that. I think Attanasio will be willing to spend whatever money it will take to get this team in the playoffs and keep them in contention for a playoff spot. 'Till he shows me he can't spend any more money on the payroll, I'll continue to believe that. That means paying Corey AND spending on pitching.

    Kudos to Melvin and mainly to the man with the checkbook, Mark Attanasio, for getting this done. Next up, Corey Hart. Prince, if you want in on this, step up and put your name on the dotted line. If not, they have this guy named LaPorta, who can take over for you.

    I'm thinking Yost was yelling at the ump for disrupting his pitchers routine. Uke explained it. Mota likes the third baseman to throw the ball back to him really hard. Then he's ready to go. The ump probably thought they did something to the ball, so he wanted to look at it. So I think Yost told the ump to mind his own darn business.

    "Because he dove." I know. Doesn't mean I have to agree with it. Maybe I would be too tough of an official scorer. And I also like he left Parra out there to pitch. They need the starters to start going into the 7th and 8th innings. Plus Parra owed it to the pen for making them work so hard in his other starts.

    They did not give Braun an error for the dive play. How was that not an error?

    Yeah, you didn't call much. Parra should be credited with 7.1 innings pitched this game. GREAT game from Manny. He better get the win. Braun, Prince you had better not loose this game.

    That's OK. From now on I'd rather the pitcher just stay out of Prince's way on a play like that.

    Since you're talking about the booing here, I have a theory about why there was not much booing at the game last night. There was what, 26k at the park last night and it holds about 44k? Those 18k drunk "fans" who are normally at Friday and Saturday games booing at almost everything, were obviously not there last night. And since I was, it was a nice break from the drunks, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

    About 40 games into the season... The Crew is last in the NL Central in runs scored and 50+ runs behind the ScRubs. But somehow only 3 games out, above .500, and right in the middle of the pack. Had you told me that stuff at the beginning of the year, I'd have said you were crazy for two reasons. One, there is no way this team will be last in runs scored. Two, if they are, no way are they only 3 games out or above .500.
