  1. Back to the offensive doldrums... *shakes head* Gonna be a long year... they're better than the `03 Brewers, but .500's about as good as it gets.
  2. Grieve's defense is horrible. He should spend most of his time at first... put Overbay in left and Jenkins in right...
  3. RoCoBrewfan Yeah, like NOT tossing Weaver after he hit a batter after the ump warned both benches? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif I dunno, maybe I'mbeing cynical about the umps. EDIT: Scotty, what happened out there?
  4. RoCoBrewfan Maybe it was just some jitters in the first. Plus at least one bad call. It might just be me, but it seems like the Brewers have had to play well enough to not only overcome the Dodgers this series, but the umps as well. EDIT: Scott's on base again... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. I'd be inclined to start him at short over Counsell. Move Spivey to second in the order, and shuffle things around a little: cf: Podsednik 2b: Spivey 1b: Overbay rf: Jenkins 3b: Helms (LHP)/Ginter (RHP) lf: Grieve (RHP)/Ginter (LHP) ss: Hall c: Moeller It might work, it might not. The Brewers need every day power threats, and Jenkins is really the closest they have to one. EDIT: This inning was MUCH better: 16 pitches. Ben might make it through five. Then let Burba take two.
  6. RoCoBrewfan I agree. This offense is closer to popgun than powerful. I suppose it's to be expected to an extent... They need to get Hall out there, but who should sit so Hall could play? EDIT: Allow me to add - if Podsednik DOES have this kind of power for real (I think he had NINE homers all year last year), then it's a good thing.
  7. PrimetimeHater No, just jittery with a rookie on the mound.
  8. A DP doesn't help much... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif EDIT: A K looking even less... two walks to start, and no runs to show for it. *sigh* 1-2-3, Ben. A quick inning, let Scotty take it deep again, and it's a whole new game.
  9. RoCoBrewfan Well, if Jackson keeps walkin' `em, I'll feel a lot better. Preferably if the offense can stake Ben a decent-sized lead. BTW - What's with these home runs? Has Scott Podsednik found that bat Sammy Sosa gave him last year? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. MassBrew What does that 86-88 reading mean for Hendrickson as a pitcher?
  11. Sorry, folks... I want Ben to do well. I guess I'm just being a little nervous, that all... Here' hoping Keith can knock that ball outta the park.
  12. It's getting ugly. This is NOT good. Maybe they should have recalled Saenz instead... EDIT: Out of the inning, but 31 pitches? Ben needs to get over the jitters - FAST. And the Crew has to light Jackson up. Big time.
  13. The Crew needs to have a big half-inning in the second... I dunno HOW they will get out of this inning with out allowing at least a run. EDIT: Lead is gone... Crew down 2-1. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  14. A four-pitch walk? I think he's got the jitters. EDIT: ANOTHER WALK. Bases loaded... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif Ben's pitching a LOT this inning...
  15. Hendickson seems to be missing a bit... The offense NEEDS to pick it up.
  16. The Crew needs to play well enough to beat both the umps AND the opponents...
  17. I should note - even in a slump, Scotty Podsednik is getting on base once a game.
  18. Glad to see Ned make adjustments, but I'd rather have Overbay batting third, Ginter fifth, and Grieve sixth...
  19. I wanted the Brewers to go for Ishii... too bad they didn't go for him. I think it would have been a good pickup.
  20. Same here. Heck, I was agitiating to put Hall in RIGHT FIELD. He'd be a good option there - and his bat sure seems to be producing the runs.
  21. Doug Davis goes six innings - he has NOT allowed a home run since April 11 of this year. This is a stretch of eight starts and fifty-one innings. Solid is an understatement.
  22. One thing for sure: Ned made the right call in switching starters.
  23. Bill Hall might need a reverse platoon - does the Crew have anyone who kills lefites?
