The Walking Dead (New Show On AMC)
pretendastronaut replied to razzzorsharp's topic in Off-Topic Forum
So, we're one episode away from the mid-season finale, and again I'm sitting with mixed emotions about this show. In general, I think this season has been good, but I'm also somewhat disappointed in it. I think Michonne's character is annoying so far (though ironically she's probably really close to the comic character), and they've failed to make me care one way or the other about the Governor. In truth, at this point I'm far more interested in Merle getting a beat down than the Governor. I don't know, maybe I'm biased from having read the comics. They've tried to focus to much on showing him as the good guy the town-people see him as, and showing bits of who he really is, but it has failed to come off as intimidating in my opinion. The comic was reversed, we really only saw the vile side of him, and some of the characters talked about how he presented himself as a good guy to most of the citizens. I've read reviews that say he's a great villain because he's manipulative and some that feel he's now vile because of what he did to Maggie. I'm just not feeling it from him right now, but there is a lot of potential still there. Also, they've been doing a far share of silly detail stuff lately. Like, how does a crazy guy who supposedly doesn't realize the zombie apocalypse is upon us, survive in the middle of "the red zone" for all of this time? And how does a bite from a zombie give you an infection that kills you, but having rotting zombie entrails all over your exposed gunshot wound, doesn't give you an infection? Nitpicking, I know. -
Episode 5 of The Walking Dead by Telltale releases next week. I can't wait. What a fantastic series.

Yes it was. So far they seem to taking a very long turn with The Governor and Michonne stories. They can't really make him as vile as he was in the comic no doubt, but still. I was surprised by the Lori move, it was good drama and hopefully they don't waste it. As good as it was, it might have been done to early and they might miss a great opportunity with Rick as a result. In the comics, Lori does die eventually, but not now and not like this, but the reasons for it and how it happens, ends up really effecting Rick and making for some pretty heartbreaking moments with him. The way they did this, with Rick basically signaling to Lori the week before that he was done with her, and then killing her the next week, I wonder exactly how they'll have Rick deal with it. -
Season Ticket Packets

Pretty soon I'm going to have as many Brewer towels as I do bobbles. I literally told someone that I would assume the prices were the same because I didn't see any announcement about prices going up. -

I thought it started pretty good. I'm with RobertR, this is a make or break season for me. -
Hahahaha. And yes, that's all I'm posting.

Man Mike Shannon is a tool. I don't know why MLB is only offering one radio broadcast for the playoffs, but I'm not enjoying being stuck with the Cardinals broadcast.

That was an incredible AB by Bruce.

The A's comeback last night was pretty spectacular. And I really wish the Orioles had won their game, though Ibanez was pretty impressive last night.

Great game in Oakland so far. I saw on Twitter, the Rangers have been in first every day since April 9th, and now they're 6 outs away from finishing second on the final day. Crazy. -

Two giant underdogs going for division titles and a likely triple crown winner. This is shaping up to be another fantastic finishing night to the regular season. -

I have to admit, yesterday's loss took away some excitement of going to this game tonight, but as the day goes on, I'm getting excited again. Yes, the position sucks, but two months ago, I would have never believed that there would still be a path to the playoffs coming into the final homestand. That's exciting regardless for me.
