  1. Thanks for the tread hawing. I totally didn't think to grab your Cardinals lineup though and put it in, sorry about that.

  3. In your lead post, you said if the Brewers had only 8 blown saves, versus 16, then they'd be atop the division. But it was shown that they still went on to win 7 of those 16 games, in effect nullifying those 7 blown saves, which basically disproves that statement. What exactly constitutes a league average bullpen? Yes, the bullpen is below MLB average for saves and holds, but they also lead the all of baseball in entering the game in high leverage situations and tied ball games, which is going to skew the numbers. They also lead in guys pitching on zero days rest. I'm not defending the bullpen from any blame, it has certainly costs to many games so far, but I don't think the blame resides with only one aspect of this team. The starting pitching has had it's struggles (and in fact, the Brewers are above league average on bailing out SPs who were on the hook for a loss when they left the game) and the offense has certainly had it's struggles, playing at or below league average most of the season.
  4. It's not good, but it also gives you back 7 of those 8 games you said would have put us on top of the division. Yes, the bullpen has been a very frustrating let-down this season, but they aren't alone in the blame of the season.
  5. But that also defies logic. So Melvin is waiting to see how the team fairs in these next six games to decide if he'll pull the trigger on this trade? If he's willing to gamble the season like that, then he'd just trade him now. Not to mention, I hope to never hear the Melvin decided to effect the Brewers' season based on the whims of another GM's preference.
  6. The only thing that makes any sense to me in this, is that every explanation defies logic. I just don't see how you sit someone like Greinke voluntarily out of these next two series, when you've put so much emphasis on them, without a solid reason, and I haven't seen a solid reason offered by the team. And worse, fill in his start in that stretch with someone making his second start, who has had absolutely no solid routine for the past several weeks. If he's hurt and they're worried about being able to trade him, this move clearly doesn't help and would only serve to make teams more concerned about his health and any hidden injury than just coming out and saying it. If his routine being out of whack caused this much of a set-back, that you would sit him in a crucial stretch, that doesn't help trade value either. That doesn't give confidence to a team looking for someone to plug a hole for a postseason run, where they'll likely need him to be out of his routine. All-around I think this is weird.
  7. Early word on Twitter from McCalvy and Haudricourt seems to be that Greinke isn't happy with the decision, but it doesn't seem there'll be any more details than we have now. Greinke goes in game 2 in Philly.

  13. That sucks Bikeage, sorry to hear it. Having a computer stolen has seemed a more horrible situation to me than a hard drive failure. I've had drives fail and have been able to recover data, but a stolen drive is all kinds of trouble. I've moved to managing all of my passwords with 1Password so they're locked and secure. And recently I started using Backblaze for automatic online backup. I would recommend both.
