  1. It was put together so well, I'm half convinced Braun could have actually stolen home safely even in Lucroy missed the bunt. Braun's jump was perfect. I don't think it was a horrible call, ballsy, yes, but not horrible. Lucroy could have bounced into a double play just as well. For as much as we've defended Sedar sending runners around third lately because of the likelihood of the next batter making an out, I don't see how this gets so panned. Just be happy that for once the Brewers perfectly executed something like this.
  2. Objective? Maybe? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I wish I'd gotten home in time to see go-go-gadget's ITP live. I'm sure it's Carlos' personal "happy birthday" gift to zachlaka. That's what I get for typing on my phone at the in-laws! Time to put the phone down and watch the game I suppose.
  3. Roenicke isn't perfect, and really no manager will be, bit it's exhausting seeing this everyday in the IGTs. A lot of the things people get upset about are marginal at best. Really Kotsay versus Boggs filling in for a couple of games is a decision on the margins at best, and as noted plenty of the decisions he has to make are a choice between two bad options because of injuries and lack of depth. This thread is a perfect illustration of this. Two pages of people calling Roenicke an idiot for not playing Hart, and it turns out Hart is sick. We get it, people don't like Yuni, Gomez and Roenicke, but let's at least be objectionable.

He has given up a home run in all four of his starts in May. Brewers vs. Sanchez Sanchez Game Log Randy Wolf 4-4 | 3.70 Wolf pitched seven innings, surrendered four hits and one run during his last outing. Brewers vs. Lincecum Lincecum Game Log Shaun Marcum 6-1 | 2.37 Marcum won his last six decisions and surrendered just one run during eight innings of work. 6. I think the difference is catchers are allowed to block the plate, and infielders aren't allowed to block the bag.
  7. As a contrast the Posey collision, they were talking about this on MLB Network last night, Molina appears to be jawing at Bartlett for his slide on this play; http://mlb.mlb.com/video/...b&tcid=vpp_copy_15188455 Neither feed discussed it, but MLB Network had a shot that more clearly showed Molina saying something, and Bartlett turns around and looks at him. About the only thing I can see wrong with that slide is that Molina is a Cardinal.
  8. Wow, I didn't expect a season ending injury based on the video. Bad blow for Posey. I read his agent is going to talk to Torre about addressing rule changes for collisions at the plate.
  9. Say what we will about Bonds, this is pretty extraordinary; Full Text
  10. I was pretty excited the Brewers gave Coffey his old entrance when he came into the game Wednesday. Coffey appreciated it as well; Full Text and Video of Coffey's entrance. Well done Brewers and Brewer fans.
  11. Wilson Valdez had to go through Votto, Rolen, Bruce and Fisher too. Edit: And the Giants rally for 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th to head to extra innings. Maybe they could do us a favor and go 19 tonight as well.
  12. This is actually random Brewers news; They just showed a graphic on MLB Network of pitchers since 2007 with at least 10Ks in a game, and a home run. 6 total. Grienke today, Yo had two of them, and Capuano back in 2007 made up 4 of them. The other two were Randy Wolf as a Dodger and CC Sabathia as an Indian.
  13. I agree with your general premise that luck has a role in sport and people fail to understand it's role, but that statement makes it seem that luck is the only thing that matters, which isn't the case. As Ennder got at, there are a lot of variables, and they effect luck, and luck effect them. The better players are able to deal with the luck they're dealt and the luck their opponents are dealt. And sometimes even the best players can do nothing about it.
  14. He else was Roenicke to double-switch? Kotsay was leading off, so you couldn't do the double switch there. His hands were tied by our bench there really.
  15. I agree, I think people are/were expecting a Sabathia type performance out of him, which isn't realistic. I think he's been fun to watch for the most part so far.
  16. Great to hear Coffey get that ovation. They still should have played the Ulitmate Warrior music for him.* *Only half joking.
  17. Wait, they did the music and timer? I couldn't tell they did on the radio call. That's awesome.
  18. But that's just mean, we lost 8-4 that day as part of the sweep in Washington! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Hawing's edit: Oops, I forgot they'd faced Marquis in Washington this season.
  19. Thanks Myday2001 and SoCal Brew Crew and you're welcome.

Marquis was removed from the game with the Nationals leading 6-5. Brewers vs. Marquis Marquis Game Log Zack Greinke 2-1 | 6.43 Greinke surrendered a two-run homer to the opposing pitcher but said he was working with his best fastball on Friday. 21. Or you just assume that Roenicke will make all of his decisions based on what the fans and media want. Haudricourt on Twitter a couple of weeks ago; Link If I recall, the media asked about Gomez batting second repeatedly as well. And Lucroy has been moving up to 6. I think it's just fairly obvious that Roenicke views Kotsay with more value than anyone not married or related to Kotsay. I think most of us agree what the lineup should be, but complaining everyday, or expecting the media to complain everyday, doesn't necessarily mean it's going to change, or that he's not asked about it or any of the other things everyone complains about everyday.

  23. Gallardo had a rough April, which kept people from seeing his May. He went 4-1 in May, with a 2.81 ERA. He nearly doubled his SO, and cut his hits down by half. BBs were up, but Gallardo always has an issue with that unfortunately.
  24. This is the photo that was posted to twitter that is getting spread everywhere. The lady has already deleted her twitter account. None of this is surprising, but its still disappointing and rage inducing all the same.
