  1. Let's be serious. In two games this season, Sheets had one poor game and one outstanding game. Seems inconsistant to me. Hey, that matches his past where he had good and bad games on his way to being an average pitcher! Average pitchers have great games all the time and until Sheets even matches what D'Amico accomplished in a strech as a Brewer you may not want to hold shelf space for the Cy Young award.
  2. JP just said Wendy is on the Expos rellocation committee. I think that explains a lot.
  3. Woohoo!!!! Polish has taken the early lead in the sausage standings!
  4. Yeah, well even St Louis pitchers were able to strike out Counsell and Spivey.
  5. Ahhhhh! There are the Brewers I remember!
  6. He didn't have a low pitch count. He was at least at 90 pitches and just given up two doubles and a walk.
  7. Does anyone know if Yost will be starting Bennett today? Sort of strange to start your backup catcher for your home opener, but then Obemueller wasn't removed yesterday even with the game well in hand, so I suspect we'll be seeing the player who wishes he was as good as Osik.
  8. I've been wanting them to trade Spivey since December, so yes trade him now.
  9. How about we replace Spivey before his value falls through the floor? Isn't it nice we no longer have a black hole at the bottom of the lineup because it was moved to the top?
  10. You can't stop Ginter, you can only hope to contain him.
  11. Is this where I can be snarky and say "thank god Counsell is batting 2nd so we can avoid those Spivey strikeouts"?
  12. Even if they lose they'll be .500 going into the home opener!
  13. If Bennet plays that much, catcher goes from being an improvement over last year to a minus.
  14. Does anyone know Davis' contract status? Can he walk at the end of the year?
  15. Don't you know, when not playing for the Brewers Jenkins moonlights as Barry Bonds.
  16. Maybe Helms thinks the Brewers will only play home games next year...
  17. Why all the interest on this board, and its not just Clancy, of taking good hitting infielders and making them poor hitting outfielders? Not just Hall and Ginter, but also Weeks.
  18. I'm imagining a team of Brooks, Matt Stairs,Jeremy Giambi, and of course Rod Beck.
  19. Why is Clayton batting in the 9th? Are we trying to avoide extra innings?
  20. Good thing Yost isn't giving to much playing time to young players so as to maintain the integrity of the playoff chase.
  21. Wohooo! A 4.50 ERA! Let's start the Cy Young campaign! The Brewers do not have a good starting pitcher. Their best pitcher is Sheets, and he is average.
  22. Henry Aaron is part of the Atlanta organization and so is unavailable.
  23. Well, except for the fact that Pac Bell plays worse for LH hitters.
  24. Rany J. from Baseball Prospectus did a study on this, basically showing pitch counts are more important than innings worked. The reason (supposedly) for injuries occuring after big increases in innings worked os that they often include much high pitch counts per game, not just more games. Its part of the argument to bring back the four man rotation, that the extra games won't hurt if pitch counts are limited in starts.
