  1. Brewer pitchers don't go 7 innings because the Brewers don't want them to. They are fully into 2Xs through the order and then finish. Unless you are cruising or Miz you are not going 7 innings with any regurlarity.
  2. Given we have no idea what form or how long the offseason is next year, yeah I think he may play it safe and instead of trying to sign in like a 2 week free agency period just pick up the option.
  3. He's not going to be cheaper in terms of prospects. Just the opposite. A cheap 4 win pitcher for 2.5 years? At least double the Peralta return.
  4. Or you know, Spencer Jones.
  5. The big issue is that Houston is only 1 game out . The AL West just isn't good. The Angles are only 6.5 games out despite playing so poorly their GM got fired.
  6. Didn't pay that much attention until now, but wow that bracket for Argentina is a probably as easy as you can get to the semi-finals. Not to say there aren't decent sides there but compare that to a France-Germany in the round of 16 and the winner of that likely facing the Netherlands.
  7. After last night, my guess is Egypt wins the group thinking they can handle Iran. But with how bad Belgium looks, not sure that is better for the US.
  8. I guess Chourio has become the Brewers' best player because that is the only thing that makes sense to blame him for that play in that fans always blame the team's best player for all loses. Chourio was tagged right when he began his slide. He was out by a good 3 feet. There isn't some special slide that would save him. With only one out he probably shouldn't have been sent.
  9. @Brock BeauchampAre there rules for exclusions for MLB time? Trying to determine the rules of not having Henderson and Gasser (and Carlos Rodriquez) but having Crow and Black.
  10. At least you got Frelick's arm out in right field to cut down a runner...
  11. Frelick vs RH 95 wRC+ Vaughn vs RH 99 wRC+ Now add in the pinch hitting penalty...
  12. It isn't 2005 where 1/3 of the league is hitting with a 900 OPS. Yelich has a wRC+ of 124 heading into tonight. He's fine for a DH and given Milwaukee's track record for a 1B/DH that is doing really great.
  13. If the Brewers are not going to give Yoho an actual try out in the majors just trade him already. He's going to need time to adjust and if he isn't going to get that in Milwaukee let's not ruin his career.
  14. The worst is you are insulting. Either you believe Bauers is going to be worth it as a big side of a platoon for the next few years and are willing to pay him at least $15 million a year or he's just a bench player in which case given the amount of prospects coming up why would you want him for $6 million?
  15. Actually his outfield defense has been OK. His 1B defense has been terrible. DRS and FRV both have him a -5 runs in only 375 innings.
  16. Somehow I read 63..1 as 33.1. So Miz should be fine with some minor reductions to save him a bit for the post season.
  17. Hamilton is fine for a utility infielder who is incredibly fast. I doubt he can maintain his walk rate with his lack of power which will cause his hitting to continue to shrink. He has a higher bWAR because the DRS scorer loves him. OAA says he's a bad middle infielder and an OK 3B giving him the same fWAR as Ortiz. Is he the worst thing happening with the Brewers' offense? No, that is Frelick, Rengifo, or still giving this current version of Perkins any plate appearances. But hoping a 29 year old suddenly becomes a starting caliber player is usually a bad bet. But given that neither Pratt nor Williams is doing enough in AAA to really push the issue in the infield I expect they'll muddle through.
  18. I think this is a bigger issue that most realize. The Brewers would have to really push some of their pitchers year over year inning increases to get to 150 innings in 2026. Misiorowski pitched 99.1 innings between AAA and MLB last year. Going to 150 would be a large increase and may have future ramifications in addition to tiring during this year. Harrison pitched 111 innings between the minors and MLB last year. He pitched 124.1 in 2024. So while getting to 150 might be pushing it, he likely is OK. Henderson pitched 103 innings last year, so even a healthy Henderson likely couldn't reach 150. Gasser is older so likely less concern but he only pitched 42 innings last year. Counting on anything from Woodruff is risky. Sproat was at 140 innings last year which may explain why he is holding on to his rotation spot. With the hope he can find it again and provide some inning coverage. Patrick pitched 162 innings between AA and MLB last year so it is strange they haven't given him a starting role. This is not just a rotation issue. Ashby of course is already at 50% of his innings of last year.
  19. Last year the Brewers dumped Dunn, Capra, Hoskins and Haase. So yes the Brewers will churn the roster.
  20. Huh? Try explaining the NBA salary cap and exemptions if you think Super 2 is a hard concept
  21. Jung has 2.5 years left (this year and two arbitration years). He's putting up about a 3 win season. It would be costly. The other issue of course is that the Rangers are only 2 games out and trading Jung also opens up future holes for the next two seasons.
  22. Gasser is a 27 year old with a long injury history, no real MLB success and almost 2 year of service time used. Lots of teams won't consider him more than a throw-in at this point.
  23. A bunch of guys (Lockridge/Mitchell/Frelick/Perkins) is not a log jam.
  24. Sproat for Peralta, who says no? (OK, the Mets because that would look bad but otherwise...)
  25. Ahh, back to the good old days where you had maybe three games a week and you liked it! All these new fangled services offering more games is just wrong!
