  1. Wow, that is all there is to say about that. This thing is over.
  2. You have to keep in mind all of the other revenue as well though. Like I said when I posted the same link yesterday, this wouldn't include parking, concessions, merchandise sales etc. Not to mention increased advertising and media revenue in future years. So I am sure that it is still a decent sum of money. We just have to hope the series' all go the distance as the owner's share increases after the first 3 or 4 games.
  3. I was trying to figure this out the other day and stumbled across this article. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2007/10/04/playoffs_not_ticket_to_riches/ Looks like teams don't make a ton of money. In 2006 the Cards and Tigers generated about $6.8 million in revenue for the entire playoffs from ticket sales and expenses are way up. The majority of the money goes to the players and staff. Of course this does not take into account concessions, merchandise and increased revenue from more fan interest in terms of future ticket sales, sponsorships and media. I am guessing the if CC takes them to the WS that his paycheck will have been covered.
  4. He also states, "LaPorta projects as a "three true outcomes" player, meaning that he'll draw walks and hit home runs, but will also strike out quite a bit." Could we have possibly let a Branyan apprentice go?
  5. Well if the Rays can avoid giving up 6 runs in an inning (although that seems to be the thing to do today), it will have been a heck of a 3 day swing for the Crew. Don't know that you can ask for much more than getting a sweep and having the two teams ahead of you get swept. I guess it could get even better if Zambrano is out for awhile.
  6. I agree. I was surprised that every bar, restaurant or even the Duck Tour I went to had at least one other Brewer Fan. Heck the Luxury Suite I was in even had another Brewer fan in it. Overall a good time even though the game outcomes were not what we were all hoping for. I would like to add $9 Sam Adams beers from the Game On bar outside of Fenway to LouisEly's list of things that won't draw me back to Boston though.
  7. Saturday my girlfriend and I will be sitting in a luxury box which I received through work connections. We are staying in 3 different hotels over the 3 nights we are there (La Quinta in Sommerville Thursday, a bed and breakfast outside of Boston and then finally the Comfort Inn by the airport on Saturday.
  8. I'm in for meeting up with some fellow Brewer fans wherever people want to go. I also have 2 tickets for sale in the front row of the grandstand between 1st and home if anyone is interested.
  9. I was wondering this too. I have a huge project wrapping up on Monday the 7th and probably shouldn't be going to opening day because of it, but if I can get a connection at MP or in the parking lot I will feel better about it.
  10. I wish I had all that stuff lying around here. You're great. Thanks. I would be interested in throwing my name in the hat for the Driver photo.
  11. I just got 2 tickets in a luxury box at Fenway Park for the Saturday Brewer game. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. I agree, there needs to be a better way, although at least it is random and not first one that happned to click like some other places. I got in after 10 minutes with one of my 42 windows. I should have just bought 8 tickets all at once, but didn't want the 2 front row grandstand tickets that were being held to get released back while I looked for more. I figured that since I got in pretty quickly the first time I would probably get right back in, but I haven't gotten in again even with all those windows. I did read some posts on a Sox message board saying last year people were in the waiting room for like 12 hours and still got tickets though. As of right now there are only two games with limited availability and those are the Cardinal's series in June.
  13. I have 42 browser windows going all tiled. The window will change from a header of virtual waiting room to Boston Red Sox ...... so all you need to be able to see is the header of the window. I already got in and bought 2 tickets in the front row of the infield grandstand for the Saturday game. Since they were first row I decided to jump on them since they only hold them for 90 seconds. Apparenly after completing the one transaction you have to start all over in the waiting room to get more.
  14. I know there has been some occassional chatter around here about wanting to make the trip over there. Looks like single game tickets will all go onsale this morning. Added link: http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/ticketing/index.jsp?c_id=bos&affiliateID=edBOSonsale120807
  15. Happy B-Day to you too, uecker9. I'm celebrating my 30th today and can't think of a better golden birthday present than the Brewers sending the Cubs back below .500.
