  1. On base and slugging percentages are higher as a whole these days, so I'd submit that the gap between Weeks and Molitor is larger than what straight OBP and OPS would show. Weeks has a career OPS+ of 108 while Molitor's is 122. That's a pretty fair gap at this point. If there's an offensive stat out there that would paint a more accurate picture than OPS+ while still adjusting for era, it'd be cool to see what it has to say.
  2. Escobar has been mentioned in 49 posts in this topic. His 2011 offensive performance has definitely been part of that.
  3. Right-click on the button, and you'll get the dropdown.
  4. Roger McDowell has been suspended for two weeks: http://www.cnn.com/2011/S...ching.coach.controversy/ Because both issues are being discussed in this topic, I'll edit the lead to reflect it.
  5. Lucroy has been with the team for a year. It's time for Craig Coshun to learn to pronounce his name.
  6. What really stands out at me is how good Yuni is at making contact. If a pitcher throws him a strike, he is making contact 72.27% (64.52%) of the time, compared to league average of around 56.55%. That could go a long ways toward figuring out why he doesn't take a lot of walks... if the pitcher throws him a strike, he is very likely to hit it. Additionally, he makes contact with 23.89% of the balls he sees vs. around 17% for league average. When you couple the high contact rates with Yuni's low OBP, it would lead one to conclude that a lot of that contact isn't going to be very solid.
  7. WiFi that's available throughout the park would be the best thing. It'd also be an alternative for placing calls if users loaded up a VoIP app.
  8. Has Wolf actually expressed dissatisfaction with Lucroy? Or was it simply that he liked pitching to Kottaras and we're reading in a bunch of things that aren't there?
  9. George and Barbara are at the game, right behind the right-handed batter's box.
  10. Somewhere in this topic, .317 was used as an example. That's below average overall, but it's fine for a shortstop. .300 causes concern no matter what the position, but if the player brings other skills to the table, you put up with it. Sub-.300 OBPs are an issue no matter how you slice them. Players in the .270–.280 range have no business starting, and you really need to consider their worth even as bench players.
  11. YouTube has changed things around since just a bit since the message above was posted. The first tutorial linked to above needs to be updated to reflect the change. I'll submit a ticket to Yuku staff to hopefully have that done. Here's how to post a YouTube video: Hit the Share button under the video.Hit the Embed button that appears to the left of the Facebook and Twitter icons.Make sure the box that says "Use old embed code" is checked. Copy the code that's in the box that appears. In the Yuku post editor, hit the Insert Flash button. In the toolbar that appears, hit the Add From HTML button.Paste in the code copied from YouTube, and hit the Insert button.
  12. I've added this topic to the Designated Threads List. Anything regarding Yuni's offensive/defensive contributions and liabilities should go here.
  13. My comment about "lecturing" was directed toward the lead poster. I put the word in quotes because another message had used it previously. The suggestion regarding specifics of a contract being a better fit for the other thread was directed toward everyone. I made that suggestion simply to avoid the possibility of duplicate discussions. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  14. I don't see the point of "lecturing" the members of this site, either. I think Prince has been treated with the appropriate level of respect and that the Prince wants to stay topic is an example of that. Additionally I can't say that I've even heard the talk show idiots railing on Prince for declining any offers that the Brewers have made. On the other hand, one idiot writer who's no longer in Milwaukee did try to make up a story that Ryan Braun was unhappy here due to the fact that he wasn't making as much money as Prince. Nobody bought it, though. Let me suggest using Prince wants to stay for discussion of what kind of contract might keep Prince in Milwaukee. That topic would seem to be a better fit than this one.
  15. Users of PowerPC Macs or OS X Tiger can now download TenFourFox, which is a version of Firefox 4 revamped to run on those older systems. Download links are at the bottom of the page I've linked to above. Note that each processor has its own version of TenFourFox. While all versions work on all PowerPC processors, a "wrong" version won't work as well as the right one. Note that there are two G4 versions, meaning that you should follow the instructions to make sure you know which kind of G4 processor you have. It looks like the only people not covered would be users of OS X Tiger on Intel Macs. However, all Intel Macs can run either OS X Leopard or OS X Snow Leopard. The developer of TenFourFox has submitted his code to Mozilla, meaning that it's possible that the ability to use newer Firefoxes on the PowerPC platform could be built into Firefox in the future.
  16. The PlayStation hack would be worthy of a new topic if someone wants to start one. This looks to be huge.
  17. 2nd fastest in team history behind 2001. This beats 2010's 2 million date, which is now third fastest. It's interesting that in Brewers history, 2001 and 2010 have only the fourth and fifth highest attendance totals respectively. This isn't a guarantee of 3 million yet. Brewers have sold 2 million tickets
  18. The only thing I'd suggest is that you follow BrewerfanToby as well. And SessileFielder and BrewersBar. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. It seems to me that a number of members felt that the Brewers could scrounge the scrap heap or AAA and come up with a better option.
  20. I don't recall the existence of any 30 day disabled list in recent years, but I kind of thought that there was a 21 day list in existence until fairly recently. The only thing I can really conclude is that there's no decent history of disabled lists on the web. Here's what Wikipedia says about the history of the disabled list: I don't recall a 10 day disabled list anytime in my lifetime, but the real problem is that because Wikipedia's history completely uncited, you can't give it much credibility. Information quoted on straightdope.com in 2004 comes from a personal website that's no longer in existence. Of course, this has the same citation issues as Wikipedia, but it seems to coincide with my understanding of the history at least a little bit: the 21 day list being dominant for a long time after replacing a 30 day list, with the 15 day list taking over in the past couple of decades. We need someone like JohnBriggs12 to chime in here. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Major League Baseball Institutes Seven-Day Disabled List for Concussions Brewers' Almonte is 1st on 7-day concussion list
  22. Isn't it normally the visiting team that gets booed?
  23. I hope you used several words that aren't appropriate to use here. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
