  1. The channel switcher is an interesting concept. Chrome has been doing that. My only concern would be frequent channel switching while using the same Firefox profile. If you have a decent backup routine, that shouldn't be much of an issue, though. I've been running Firefox 5 Aurora for a few weeks. From what I can tell, there won't be any visible differences between Firefox 4 and Firefox 5. Rather, the improvements are under the hood. I've been noticing that so far, Firefox 5 has been using somewhat less memory, for instance.
  2. Casey, wouldn't you agree that Hart isn't an ideal #2 hitter? If I think of "ideal #2 hitter," I think of Robin Yount much more than Corey Hart. Well, RRR's description makes me think of a poor hitter. A #2 hitter needs OBP and at least some degree of SLG. If he can offer that, he'll be moving runners over. Without shaking up Rickie, Ryan, and Prince, I think Corey becomes the best #2 on the team. I'd love to see a manager really optimize his lineup, i.e. putting the best two hitters at #2 and #4, making sure there's reasonable power at leadoff, and choosing a #5 hitter that's better than the #3 hitter. Because nobody's doing that, I sure wouldn't expect it of Roenicke.
  3. Do you like me like me or just like me? If I remember correctly, the term on The Wonder Years for being interested in a relationship was "like like." Regarding Like, someone might ask, "Do you like Like, or do you like like Like?"
  4. There's certainly an issue with the bench, and I agree that RRR hasn't been dealt the best hand. But when we're seeing comments like trwi7 points out, you really have to wonder. I would think that a Corey Hart (at least last year's version) would move runners over just fine — probably better than the contact hitter that RRR seems to be pining for.

  6. Moved to Brewerfan.net Issues & Events forum, where it's more likely to be noticed quickly by moderators and staff. http://brewersfandemonium.../Broken-Link-on-Homepage
  7. It's working for me right now. You could be running into a Yuku issue. Please let us know if this problem persists.
  8. If you go way back to the beginning of the Ned Yost era, every Brewer starter had a "personal" catcher. Later on, there was a season where Ben Sheets' personal catcher was Chad Moeller. Of course, people on the message boards read between the lines that Ben wouldn't pitch to Damian Miller. I think a more accurate assessment was that Ned needed to find a way to give Damian a day off, and offering Sheets the choice of pitching to Moeller was a way to do that. As the season went on, Ben pitched some games where Miller caught. And Ben named his son after Damian (Miller Bennett Sheets, after two of his catchers).
  9. This is just a theory, but it seems that Wolf's system of signs makes him a hard pitcher to catch. Last year, Lucroy was brought up prematurely. This year, he missed the opportunity to catch Randy during spring games. It would make sense that it's simpler to allow the backup catcher to concentrate on Wolf while allowing Lucroy to concentrate on everything else, including his hitting.
  10. When is Melvin going to step in and say, what the $%&%# are you doing? Please note that per Fan Forum Etiquette language guidelines, it's the member's responsibility to edit out words that are caught by the cuss filter.
  11. You pasted it very nicely, though. You deserve credit for that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. I wanted to crack it open and drink it, but apparently that sort of thing is frowned upon while at work. I don't see why it should be. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. RR was asked about moving him to 2B. 2B? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif RR certainly has some Yostian tendencies. The difference I see is that Ned would absolutely know what the best move would be, then eschew it in favor of something inexplicable. I'm not convinced that Roenicke has a grasp of what the best moves are. His lineups are constructed in a pre-1990 fashion, for instance.
  14. I don't think the Betancourt remark was meant to be taken too seriously. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. Ok, I should have said there is evidence out there but I just don't feel like looking it up. Actually, the first way was better. [The issue isn't that Roenicke is pitching some random pitcher so many innings. The issue is that it's Loe and he generally hasn't been as effective when used multiple days in a row (I don't have any specific stats, just from what I remember).] Better yet would have been to simply admit that you don't have stats on hand and present the concept as "my impression is" or "it appears to me." There's no problem with floating an idea without statistical backup as long as one isn't too insistent, e.g. "From what I remember, Loe hasn't been as effective when used multiple days in a row." Someone will likely come along and help out like bjkrautk did. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Also, given that bjkrautk had already helped out, I don't think I would have bothered calling out rawbecht for less than thorough research.
  16. homer, I'd make an appointment at the Genius Bar at an Apple Retail Store. In the meantime, if this happens again, take a screen capture of the page and note its URL. If the tab has no URL bar, you should be able to get the address from your browser history. Definitely let us know how this situation is resolved.
  17. Is it sad that one of the first things I did after we got home from the hospital was to register her for Packers season tickets? You'd be negligent if you didn't. Congratulations, NeedMoreFans. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. I don't think the issue in this topic is the hand that Roenicke has been dealt. Rather, the issue is what he's doing with it. While the roster might not be ideal, many feel that there's still room for Ron to be utilizing it more effectively.
  19. Is this the topic you wanted Russ? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

  23. One of my main gurus has soured on AVG. I'd have ask to find out why. He's now recommending Avira AntiVir Personal for virus protection. He recommends SUPERAntiSpyware for removing spyware. Note that the free version doesn't offer real time protection or scheduled scanning. You'd have to run it manually. SpywareBlaster provides real time protection against spyware without using resources or interfering with other programs. In other words, you can use this alongside anything else. Your responsibility would be to keep it updated. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) is excellent. The free version doesn't offer real time protection or scheduled scanning. It's often recommended as a second line of defense when your "main" software fails. It's frequently recommended by its competitors for "secondary" scanning. If malware prevents your anti-malware program from running, MBAM's exe file can be renamed and run. That tack doesn't work with most of its competitors. If you consider yourself to be less technically inclined or somewhat lazy, consider a suite. Norton™ Internet Security has improved in recent years and is much less resource-intensive than it used to be. Suites also offer compatibility advantages as their components are optimized to work together. Antivirus software reviews Adware-Spyware-Scumware software review

  25. I'm seeing rumors on the Internet that Apple is going to be deeming optical drives obsolete and is going to stop including them as internal devices, starting with the notebooks. That might be part of the rationale for Apple resisting BluRay.
