  1. Miller Park is very near West Milwaukee, but it's in Milwaukee. Here are crops from a Milwaukee County map provided by wisconline.com. http://images.yuku.com/image/png/69e356445b9949df57954e140408626c06bacbb.png http://images.yuku.com/image/png/4881585541534108a2301e8a321fa6b6b468a81.png The City of Milwaukee is shaded yellow. West of Miller Park Way, National Avenue is the border between Milwaukee and West Milwaukee. East of Miller Park Way, the border extends north of National, but stops short of the parking lots.
  2. What provider do you have, lcbj68c?
  3. Just a reminder that we also have the in-game chat available: Brewerfan Game Chat pretendastronaut has included the link so it'll appear media section of IGT lead posts.
  4. For what it's worth, Google Maps puts my house about two miles from its actual location. Without checking, I bet it puts Tropicana Field in St. Pete, though.
  5. 1GB DDR3 ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 graphics [HDMI] - For Quad Core Processors ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5700 & HD 5600 Series I don't know about the gaming aspect, but it'll certainly drive your 24" monitor and any monitor you might be buying in the next two or three years (up to 2560x1600 using DisplayPort or dual-link DVI). From what I can tell, the CPU isn't from the new Sandy Bridge line. I don't know if that matters to you or not. Which computer is this?
  6. For television, aligning teams according to time zone is a priority. I'd guess that was the reason.
  7. The Good Feet Store is already national.
  8. DisplayPort (or Mini DisplayPort) should be good, too. What you're trying to do may make a difference, though. For instance, on my MacBook Pro, if I want to "mirror" my notebook display (show exactly the same thing on both monitors), the external monitor will display at the same resolution as the notebook's native resolution. I don't ever do that. With "dual display," I can spread my work across both monitors, and each will display at its native resolution. Getting the proper cables at a good price shouldn't be an issue. I have an older computer hooked up to my HDTV with a DVI to HDMI cable. I hook my notebook up to my desktop monitor with a Mini DisplayPort to DVI cable. Each of those cables was comfortably under $10. Bottom line? Ask a lot of questions, and be sure that the person answering them isn't a moron.
  9. You definitely want to run the 24 inch monitor at its native resolution, which I bet would be 1920x1080 (1080p) or 1920x1200 (the 16:10 equivalent of 1080p). I looked up the models Sam was interested in, but I couldn't find anything about supported external resolutions.
  10. Adding to giffted1's information, there are two different bookmark buttons, each with a star icon. The one with only the star toggles the bookmarks sidebar open and closed. The second one allows you to access your bookmarks via a dropdown menu and contains a "down" arrow indicating that. http://images.yuku.com/image/png/4c6251a5db40a5634aa07d85d4f4b2d3e3b5f8a.png
  11. I think I can pose as a silhouette… Or you could go retro and dress up as a blue Kool Aid pitcher.
  12. Text boxes (such as Quick Reply at the bottom of this page) have little grippies allowing users to re-size them. WebKit (Safari, Chrome, etc.) has had this for a while. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
  13. You still have to pick up your order. You receive a text message when it's ready. The app should be around someplace; it's available for iPhone, Android, Palm, and Blackberry.
  14. I'm holding down the fort at my dad's house while he's out of town for a couple of days. Yesterday, I had to have a new Molitor device ignitor installed on his furnace.
  15. The Pinchy extension puts a "face" on the hidden zoom preferences. Installing it is probably easier than going into about:config.
  16. Yikes and Gadzooks! Firefox 4 disables pinch zooming in OS X. I thought something was broken. You have to go into about:config to put it back. If you've never used about:config, you'll see a tongue in cheek "warning" about voiding your warranty. Ignore it. Uncheck the box so you won't see that so-called warning again. To change the values, two-finger-click or control-click anywhere on the preference and choose "Modify" from the context menu. The silver lining for me was that typing in pinch and pressing enter also displayed browser.gesture.pinch.threshold, which sets how far you have to pinch for the zoom to register. I didn't know that setting existed. The default value is 150. I'm trying it at 75. RoCo, maybe it's time for you to set up a new Firefox profile. A tired old profile is frequently the cause of Firefox slowness. Before doing this, be sure to have critical information backed up, especially bookmarks. Extensions will need to be reinstalled. I created a new profile in conjunction with installing Firefox 4. Before doing that, I set up a Firefox Sync account in 3.6 using the Firefox Sync extension. This allows you to save your bookmarks, passwords, preferences, history, and tabs in the "cloud" for syncing across computers. You won't need to install the extension in Firefox 4 because Sync is built in. Before removing your old profile, be sure to save your Sync Key. You'll need it (in addition to your username and password) to set up Sync in a new profile. I only synced my history and preferences. My bookmarks are synced with Xmarks, and I don't have any saved passwords.
  17. I'm a browser junkie; I could have several running at any given moment. I've been running a Firefox 4 portable installation for about three weeks, and I haven't had a slowness issue. That doesn't mean that others won't experience it, though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I do know that slowness caused Firefox 4 to add two extra betas before it was released. I think that WebKit is definitely the best (and fastest) rendering engine and that Chrome is the best of the WebKit browsers. (The two dominant WebKit browsers are Chrome and Safari.) With extensions, Firefox offers the features that I want in the browser I use the most often, though. One thing I really like about WebKit browsers is the ability to re-size text boxes by pulling on a little "grippie" down in the lower right-hand corner. I also like WebKit's Web Inspector; Chrome's version edges out Safari's. If I make any significant adjustments to our board's skin, it'll be in Chrome. In Chrome, I find the lack of text-only zooming to be a major flaw. Safari and Firefox both offer it as an option. Firefox remembers zoom settings on a per-site basis, which I think is incredibly convenient. RoCo, maybe you want to give Chrome a whirl to see if it suits your needs.
  18. The main thing I would like to avoid is keeping a bad hitter out of the #2 spot. That's probably the biggest thing I look for, too. For a long time, the ability to "move the runner over" seemed to be the only qualification for that spot. After a while, OBP started to be respected and managers realized that good hitters should have more ABs than poor hitters. The gurus are now telling us that one of the team's two best hitters should hit second. That isn't happening in general practice, so I'm not going to be upset when a manager doesn't do it. I'll find fault with him for putting a Gomez-esque hitter in the number #2 spot, though. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. I don't see a problem as long as your critical extensions will work. If you don't have any extensions, I think you'll be good to go. If you want to be doubly safe, you can back up your Firefox profile first. If you do have to revert, having the old profile around might be handy. If you're not attached to your history, cookies, etc., backing up your bookmarks would be plenty. I really don't see any issues, though. This isn't like an IE update where websites might have issues due to poorly coded workarounds intended to address bugs in previous IEs. By the way, 3,777,489 people have downloaded Firefox 4 as of the time of this post.
  20. It's now available for download on mozilla.com. This isn't available via automatic updates right now. You'd need to download and install the whole thing. I've been playing around with a portable version, and for the most part, I like what I see. I'll wait to update my "main" installation until my key extensions are updated. The interface has a significant facelift, especially in Windows Vista/7. Tabs are on top by default, and in Vista/7, the title bar is eliminated. Tabs share that space with the close, minimize, and maximize buttons, like Chrome. This feature was planned for OS X, but it couldn't be completed in time for this version. Once I get going, I think I'll find App Tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) to be useful. App tabs lets you permanently pin a tab while reducing its size to that of an icon. That's good for webmail and other frequently accessed sites. Panorama lets you organize your tabs into groups. It enables one to open more tabs in the same window than what might have been feasible otherwise. Here's a review: It's the best Firefox yet. Is it better than its rivals, too? For what it's worth, IE 9 was released last week.
  21. The last two times I've been in Madison have been on Mondays. Mickies Dairy Bar is closed on Mondays.
  22. Photobucket seems to have eaten my bulldog avatar. I find this very upsetting. You need to log into Photobucket at least once every three months to keep your account active. After three months of inactivity, the account can be reactivated by logging in. After a year of inactivity, the only way to reactivate your account is to purchase Pro. However, this option is only available for a short time before your account is wiped out completely. EDIT: Photobucket accounts expire if you don't log in
  23. Craig Coshun's interview questions are peppered with "you knows," just like the players' answers.
  24. The reasons for batting Fielder 3rd instead of 4th are more convincing. The scenario is avoided where Fielder leads off the 2nd inning, where he will be pitched to but not have any run-producing opportunities and block the running game if he does get on. He gets additional at-bats for batting 3rd instead of 4th. He will hit in the first inning of every game. The flip side of the same coin is that the #3 hitter comes to the plate more than anyone else with two outs and nobody on base. Given that Prince will likely have the best OBP on the team, I think he's a pretty attractive option for leading off an inning. (The #4 hitter leads off innings more often than anyone other than the leadoff hitter.) I think that the longstanding tradition of placing the a team's best hitter in the cleanup spot is a good one. This won't happen, but I'd like this: Weeks Braun McGehee Fielder Hart Lucroy Take your pick While it's generally important to get your best hitters the most at bats, that's not categorically applicable. The #5 hitter tends to have higher leverage ABs than the #3 hitter, for instance. Compare it to a game of backgammon. Rolling a 3 and a 1 doesn't move your checkers very far, but it's an excellent opening roll because you can cover a strategic spot.
