  1. Shouldn't that be written as an equation, complete with parentheses and brackets?
  2. What's LI? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. Isn't 67%-70% the "break-even" point for stolen base success? If so, a 66% SB% doesn't strike me as something that would sink a team. I remember someone posting 68.something somewhere, and Tangotiger commented that the figure was as good as any. That's just an average, of course. It might have been in the same place where it was mentioned that the necessary success rate varies with game situation. There are situations where you'd better be successful 90% of the time, and other situations where 60% is adequate. A stolen base isn't going to help you much in a 7-3 game but it could really help you in a 2-1 game. Run-constrained situations are among the times to consider breaking out base stealing as a weapon. Stolen bases shouldn't be an all-purpose centerpiece of a team's offense. That's when the caught stealings start to add up.
  4. In 1961, Betty White turned down an offer to be a host on The Today Show. The job ended up going to Barbara Walters.
  5. Thanks to everyone who's helped out with this. Here's the voting information: Important! Please vote on these Yuku issues (including the "blank last page" bug)
  6. As many of you already know, Yuku is asking us to vote on issues in order for them to be addressed by developers. Issues that have a lot of votes will be given priority. Voting is easy. Simply follow the links below, and hit the voting icon next to the reply button in each topic's lead post. Bugs have this icon: http://images.yuku.com/image/png/2a115a5a495c4b0926ef40d92d65f9ac3013baa.png And feature requests have this icon: http://images.yuku.com/image/png/2c3358ce5e7344b75796488d0422d61a3f6e51f.png We're looking for votes on these three issues: ? Clicking on new post icon takes members to a blank page... and related symptoms [bUG] This has been the number one complaint from our membership for two years. We haven't been successful in getting Yuku's attention regarding this issue in the past. Hopefully, with the voting system, things will be different. With the assistance of our members, we've been able to consistently reproduce this issue. Hopefully, that will help. ? Mobile App [feature request] The number one feature request among our members is better handheld support. The posts in the thread are technical in nature, but the concept is not. ? Alt text and tooltips on posticon img elements [feature request] The current omission of "alt" is incredibly significant for blind users. For the non-blind, a request to add unique tooltips to board posticons is included. The tooltips would address AKA Pete's request for a posticon legend. I've written this up on behalf of the owner of another board. In exchange for our votes for this feature, I've asked her board to help us out on the "blank last page" bug. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif We don't have to worry about votes on one request "canceling out" votes on another. So far, things haven't worked that way. The only thing that's a problem is multiple votes per IP: please don't vote with more than one profile. The main thing is to gather a lot of votes. Your participation is important. Please take a moment to help us out. Thanks! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Here's a draft of what I'm going to report. I have to double-check the sample reports to make sure they're recorded properly. I concentrated on the "next manager" thread. If I'm missing something or have made an embarrassing typo, please let me know. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Items 1 & 3 in the message directly above are actually the same thing, so I've combined them into item 1 below. When it's time to vote, I'll post a new topic. [/li]Admin/mod-level:[li]With a moderator- or administrator-level profile, go to this forum: Administrator - moderator pager bug samples. Account preferences can be set to display 10, 20, or 30 posts per page. Note the number of pages listed in the pagers next to each topic title. Open each topic and note that the last page number listed on the forum page isn't the last page of the thread. (If a staff account doesn't produce the results described in the topic titles and leads, feel free to log into support.brewersfandemonium. "He's" a moderator.)[/li] Actual result: In topics with hidden posts, clicking "direct-to-post" links frequently takes members to a later page in the topic than intended. On forum pages, when topics contain hidden posts, administrators and moderators frequently see the pager display fewer pages than are actually in the topic. Expected result: Clicking on "direct-to-post" links should take members directly to the correct message. The pager next to topic titles should display the correct number of pages to admins and mods.
  8. I believe that Chrysler products in general do well with interior room.
  9. Because we were able to lock the the "poster child" topic for the blank last page bug, I've reinstated delete ability.

  11. So far, we've focused on two aspects of this bug: When there are hidden posts in a topic, the new post icon may take members to a blank page. The frequency of this occurrence depends on the number of hidden posts and the number of topics per page the member is viewing. This generally happens to members rather than mods and admins. When there are hidden posts in a topic, the pager next to the forum page topic title fails to display the last page number of the thread. This generally happens to admins and mods rather than members. There's a third lesser-known glitch: When a link directly to a post is created and there are hidden posts in the thread, members may be taken to the wrong page. This is much more likely to affect members than mods or admins. Voilà: The link works correctly when followed by admin/mod profile (@20 and 30 messages per page). The link breaks when followed by member-level profile (@20 and 30 messages per page). At 20 messages per page, the link takes the member to the top of page 25 when the post is actually the 18th message on page 24.[/i] At 30 messages per page, the link takes the member to the top of page 37 when the post is actually the eighth message on page 36. Could I ask a couple of you to follow the link to ELCABALLO45's post and report back? If you're viewing 20 messages per page, you should (hopefully) see the same result as I reported in the red italicized text above. Thanks for all your help. I'm just about ready to report this. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. Thanks TooLive. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif 1992casey @ 30 posts per page 27 pages in forum page pager / 28 pages in threadlast post in topic: admin/mod reply #811 by TheCrew07, November 1, 2010, 5:12 PM CDT (first post on page 28)
  13. "Computer" should be available in the Start menu. If you'd like to display "Computer" on your desktop, folllow the steps provided by the How-To Geek. The "Easy Method" gets "Computer" to display in one step. The "Nearly as Easy Method" demonstrates how to put a number of icons onto your desktop.
  14. I'm guessing that for most members, the new post icon in the "next manager topic" takes you to the correct post about three times out of twenty. Does that sound right?
  15. 1992casey @20 posts per page: properly taken to first new message in topic (admin/mod reply #804 / member reply #795 by crewcrazy, November 1, 2010 3:59 PM)last post in topic: admin/mod reply #810 / member reply #795 40 pages in forum page pager / 41 pages in thread 1992casey @ 30 posts per page 27 pages in forum page pager / 27 pages in threadlast post in topic: admin/mod reply #810 / member reply #795 by crewcrazy, November 1, 2010 3:59 PM)yuku tester casey @ 20 posts per page 40 pages in forum page pagernew post icon takes me to blank page 40needed to navigate to page 39, then navigate to page 40 via page 39 pager to find newest posts
  16. yuku tester casey (member level profile): New post icon (admin/mod reply #802 and member reply #787) takes me to a blank page 40. To see the two new posts, I needed to click on page 39 in the topic-level pager, then click on page 40 from page 39.
  17. 1992casey: admin/mod reply numbers 802 & 803 are newat 30 posts per page, pager properly matches pages in topic (27) pager mismatches at 20 posts per page: last page is 40 when there are actually 41 pages

  19. I've temporarily disabled the ability for members to delete posts in the Major League Forum. The reason for this is to eliminate a possible variable while testing for the "blank last page" bug. I'm not sure how long "temporary" will be. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif At this point, Major Leagues is the only forum where "delete" has been turned off. If you wish to delete a message you've posted, you can do an edit and insert something like "deleted." Sorry for the inconvenience.
  20. After reply #781 (member view) / reply #796 (mod view) was posted by yuku tester casey, the correct numbers appeared on the forum page. The discrepancy appears to be equal to the number of hidden replies in the thread. Shazam! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Last post: member reply #781 (by yuku tester casey, 1 November 2010, 4:52 AM) appears as first message on page 40.
  22. Still 26/39 pages in pager on forum page, even though topic has 27/40 pages (admin/mod view). [currently 15 posts on last page (27/40) at both 20 and 30 posts per page.]
  23. Test post. Mods, please don't hide this. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
