  1. I'm in Milwaukee right now, but my neighbor plowed 10 inches out of my driveway in north central Wisconsin. I'm hoping I'm clear for a drive home tomorrow.
  2. I've gotten the main page to load a handful of times over the past couple of days. Other times, it either hangs or whitewalls. Until this is fixed, if you really need to see the main page and it doesn't cooperate, you can Google it and load the cached version. Other pages on the main site seem to load just fine.
  3. I was just going to post that, Al. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. I'm seeing the same thing as crewcrazy. If I hit any of the links in the Brewerfan navigation bar here on the board, I can get in. It appears that everything on the main site is available except for the home page.
  5. I'm not getting to the main page right now. Has anyone been able to access it since I last posted?
  6. I'm not getting in either. The site is hanging. That happened for me the a few days ago, but it self-corrected before I got a chance to e-mail Brian to take a look. I'll e-mail Brian right now.
  7. Here's Ron's Hall of Fame Trial topic: ARTICLE: Hall of Fame Trial - Ron Santo I remember looking up OPS+ stats for Hall of Fame third basemen a few years back. Ron's would fall right in the middle of that group. I would think that should make him a worthy candidate.
  8. Reporting is helpful. We can get in touch with Brian so something can be done if it doesn't self-correct.
  9. If you click on any of the features above the forum (Power 50, Player Index, etc.) -- you'll then see the left-side sidebar all the team choices and such. You'll also find the sidebar items in the Fan Sites / Resources topic that's placed near the top of most forum pages in the same group of links as Fan Forum Etiquette. They're in the last category in the Resource List in the first reply.
  10. Hall of Fame Trial - Ron Santo
  11. This is sad news for fans everywhere. I've always felt that his playing career was underrated by many. He was certainly dedicated to his team.
  12. I personally felt that Prince's trade deadline comments were wide open to interpretation. Some felt that they indicated that he was hoping to be traded. It could have easily been that he was just sick of all the questions and rumors. After that final game of the season, however, Prince made comments on how great his teammates were, how great the Milwaukee fans were, and how he liked playing in Milwaukee. I guess it just depends on which comment you latch onto and what meaning you attach to it. I try not to read much into things and assume that we're not always getting enough context to be able to fully interpret what someone is saying.
  13. The link is broken. Fixed. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif An extra slash got in there somehow.
  14. Frozen pizza would be awfully impractical to transport. A cooler isn't enough to keep it properly frozen. I think the only practical hope is to be traveling when the temperature is below zero. At that point, the pizza should stay frozen in the trunk (if the vehicle has a trunk).
  15. If you want to get technical, New Glarus beer is from Green County, not from Milwaukee.
  16. I don't own a lot of socks that I care much about, I tend to buy them in packages containing several pairs, and often, one sock wears out before it's mate. So I don't get too bent out of shape over an odd sock in my drawer.
  17. $5.3 million isn't a huge posting fee. And the amount of the posting fee indicates that a huge contract shouldn't be required to sign Nishioka. I'd surmise that this is well within the Twins' budget. The only question is how good Tsuyoshi is likely to be.
  18. I don't know of any Flash substitute. What happens if you remove Flash entirely (for troubleshooting purposes)? That way, you'd be able to confirm if it's the cause of your problem or not.
  19. only 60 HZ It's 600 Hz. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif 60 Hz caught my eye right away because that's way too low for plasma.
  20. It's amazing how much trouble Flash causes. Steve Jobs has been quoted as saying that Flash is the number one cause of Macintosh crashes. Apple refuses to allow Flash on iPhones, iPods, and iPads. The company's feeling is that it's totally replaceable via HTML 5.
  21. Other than that, it does seem that bonuses are paid for games started, games finished and games played. You can add plate appearances and innings pitched to that list.
  22. My biggest complaint, and it's a big one, is that each song seems to come in at a different volumes. Kind of like television commercials. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'm going to guess that the music industry is eventually going to step in and try to stop this site or demand that they charge a user fee (that they get a piece of). Sites can avoid charging user fees by displaying ads and sending tracking cookies. I've never looked at Grooveshark, but maybe that's already happening.
  23. Are you referring to the main site or the Yuku board?
  24. Yeah, I'd recommend reformatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows. Transfer your important documents to another volume. I'd recommend a key drive simply because it's writable: you can bombard it with anti-virus and anti-virus checks to make sure those files are clean. I'd also recommend purchasing a backup hard drive and getting into a backup routine. Doing that is much less techie than attempting to remove malware. I'd start the backup routine before copying any of your files back to your hard drive... just in case there's an infection in there that you might miss.
  25. I want to learn how to toast bread with the Brewers' logo.
