  1. Congrats scoop! I have Prior on my fantasy team, but I still want him to do an imitation of a gas powered christmas tree tonight. GO CREW.
  2. That was brutal. I almost wish the tornado warning coverage for SE Wisconsin would have continued and spared me having to see those last two at bats. Lyle?s at bat was bad, but IIRC he had two quick strikes and was somewhat backed into a corner. Clark should be stuffed into his locker for the whole night for hitting a weak foul popup on a 2-0 count. ARGHHHHH!!!!!11oneone Can we take a trip back to San Juan or hire Tonya Harding? At least Ginter is showing signs of life. Just in time for Helms to come back.
  3. I still don?t understand why some people get worked up over our attendance numbers. Will the added money go into improving the talent on the field? HA! Will more people translate directly to more wins? They won last night with 13k. Does having more people at the game make it harder to park, get good seats, and leave after the 9th? Yes. Stretch out at MP and enjoy it while it lasts. If the only thing that the Brewers could beat for the last 11 years was their fan base, why be surprised or indignant when paying the Seligs for weeknight baseball is not the first thing the frequently flogged think of for entertainment. To the average Wisconsinite, this light at the end of the tunnel probably still looks like train they have been hit by every season for over a decade.
  4. I have not been given the chance. Every time he turns sideways, he seems to disappear. So this is what a winning team looks like... Amazing. Is it just me or does Petco look like they were trying to capture that Camden Yards like feel, but instead got a "look at what this Kansas twister dropped out of the sky on our new baseball park"?
  5. Nedley needs to be ejected more often. Apparently he took the time to look over the lineup and make some tweaks that he must be too busy for during the regular season. With the exception of not starting Spivey, I like it.
  6. Why is Brady Clark still getting playing time?
  7. Nice to see Grieve back in the lineup. I am surprised that Yost did not rest him to allow Clark to battle the difficult turf.
  8. In game chats are one of my favorite features at Brewerfan, but I think they could be even more fun if we could get some players or front office people involved. An off day pitcher in the bullpen, guys on the DL, DM, or scouts could be given a laptop with cell phone access to the internet or I believe the press box has a wireless router that might reach. Of course sponsors may be necessary to pay for the equipment and maybe the access. I don?t know if MLB or the Brewers would allow this or if anyone on the team would be interested, but maybe for a few home games this could really give some insight into the game. I don?t know what kind of connections the site has to the team, but fan outreach is always good for PR. Yeah, I know it?s a pipedream, but I just thought I would mention it.
  9. "I know when Bobby likes to hit and run," Yost said. "I know what counts he likes to steal bases in and when he likes to squeeze. But Bobby knows that I know. And he knows that I know that he knows." I think this helps explain Yost?s bizarre behavior in this series. He must be thinking that if he makes no moves or all bad ones, Cox?s head will explode and we could take 1 out of 3.
  10. When Durrington came in to pinch hit sporting his studly .167 batting average, I began to question if Trent recently got a large NASCAR tattoo or some interesting Polaroids. The game was like watching a train wreck in slow motion grind to its inevitable conclusion. The team looked lethargic and seemed to lack that patented Yost ?battle? enthusiasm. Nedly falling asleep at the wheel in the 9th demeans the great start by Santos. The only good thing I can take away from the hours I invested in watching this game is my anger. It is nice for games to seem to matter so much that I actually get upset when they lose. ARGH!!!111one
  11. Captain Sharpie getting ruffed up by the pitcher? 3-0 Expos I am begining to wonder if the crew likes playing from behind.
  12. I guess the dbacks just answered my question.
  13. Are the dbacks trying to get Brenly fired? I thought bobble-heads were just for souvenirs?
  14. And Yost wants Chad to platoon with that other guy?
  15. Who are these guys and where did they hide the Brewers?
  16. I am excited to finally get this season underway, but I have a feeling that with this scheduling, April will be known as the month of woe. Had not seen that statfox site before, but based on the numbers I wish Morris was pitching for us! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif They seem to think so too. BEN SHEETS vs. ST LOUIS since 1997 SHEETS is 3-5 when starting against ST LOUIS with an ERA of 4.76 and a WHIP of 1.492. MATT MORRIS vs. MILWAUKEE since 1997 MORRIS is 9-2 when starting against ST LOUIS with an ERA of 2.22 and a WHIP of 1.195.
  17. I was not suggesting replacing the EZ board or adding another BBS, just adding an additional category for front page news and BF articles that did not require registration. I don?t think removing registration for the entire board would be wise. I like the idea of just generating a post under the appropriate current forum categories, but sometimes those seem to sink to the bottom under the weight of all the new posts and polls. Just offering my 2 cents of bad advice. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Being the geek that I am, I spend a significant number of my online hours at tech sites. My favorite among them being Arstechnica.com (mostly for their forums). However, I also like the way they do their front page news. They have a few people who write original articles and others who write summaries or commentary with links to the referring articles on newsworthy topics. Then at the bottom of each story is a link to a news and discussion forum for the visitors to comment on the subject. The news and discussion forum does not require registration, which encourages lurkers to actually post and get involved in discussion. The casual visitor to BF might not easily find the forums or be daunted by the by the prospect of registering and posting. I think this type of concept would being more life to the front page and draw more voices to the forum. Here are a couple of links to places that provide better explanation of the concept than my description. www.arstechnica.com www.tech-report.com
  19. I know I am going to need to get a flame retardant suit on for this one, but a significant part of me wanted to see the Crew tank these last games. Something about being cheered on by Cub fans just sickens the soul. But it is still nice to crush you?re the competition! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. My first game on the club level. Decent, but it pales compared to Camden Yards. Shane Nance is a Gas Powered Christmas Tree. I was ready to leave when I saw that Vizcaino and Nance were warming together. Kolb was warming up, was Yost saving him for the nonexistent extra innings? ARGH!
  21. WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!! (Least productive post ever)
  22. I heard on the radio this afternoon that everyone?s least favorite French-Canadian is going to be interviewed by JP. Can?t miss. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  23. It is the terrible tandem of Stat Man and the Hyena. Why did they even bother sending ?the big unit?, this is silly. Just leave Wayne in for 9. This makes me appreciate Bob and Jim even more.
  24. 2 walked in runs... Including the pitcher! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
