  1. Yeah, that was funny. Makes me wish we could hear Ueck uncensored for a season.
  2. I have one of the free Loge ticket vouchers from the last game of 2011. Can be exchanged for one free Loge level seat for the upcoming series 23-25th against the Astros. Lemme know if you want it. Can meet Mayfair area.
  3. Yeah, it's better to watch zero games, make the same broad generalizations and claim it's a scientific process because you threw WAR in there. Funny that the BoSox were still listed Top Six even though they had played just as poorly to that point. I guess I'm expecting too much from sports writers that they do an ounce of research into the topics they cover. Anyone on this board could have written an equally astute analysis off the top of his/her head.
  4. I agree RWeeksFan. I know to take the Power Rankings with a grain of salt. If you look at the rankings themselves, SI makes a point to mention they're not the usual kind based on record and tries to compare the record to the team's WAR. But then they make a bunch of off-the-cuff statements that reflect no knowledge or research of each team. The Brewers' infield D was a mess last year. To cite it as a strength and to then put the Brewers in the bottom fifth of the league based on the notion that ARam and Gamel are a huge step down from Casey McGehee defensively? That to me suggests that neither writer watched even one full Brewers' game last season.
  5. I thought it was funny that any baseball analyst would assume the infield D got worse by replacing Prince and Casey McGehee. He probably ran out of words to describe the great Yuni B D. He was after all, the best SS in MLB amongst those unable to bend at the waist for a grounder.
  6. Has anyone else read these? Great analysis. Here's the Brewers' portion. "One of the underrated keys to the Brewers success in 2011 was a surprisingly good defense, as they managed to convert a lot of balls into outs that other teams weren't able to get to. However, new third baseman Aramis Ramirez is a defensive downgrade, and Mat Gamel isn't much of a glove man over at first, so the infield defense remains a problem. While the Brewers' pitching is strong on paper, their National League-worst 5.65 ERA shows that the defensive support might not be in place to help the pitchers live up to expectations. If the Brewers are going to hang around in a tight NL Central race all year, they're going to have to address those defensive issues at some point" Read more: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/baseball/mlb/04/16/power.rankings/index.html#ixzz1sH8Yl6mM Keep up the good work. (I added italics for emphasis)
  7. No real opinion on him yet, but Block's pronunciation of Starlin Castro's name (Costro) was really irritating me.
  8. Maybe in 12 years 20M/per is what Craig Counsell Jr. makes?
  9. Yeah, I don't get why him flip-flopping is a big deal. He is clearly wanted back. The game is in pretty great shape, and he obviously loves baseball and his job. Kudos to him. I'm envious. You can buy lots of Gilles with 22M/year.
  10. Good call. I will almost certainly goand may need to swap
  11. No kidding on ARam. Also, he is one of those guys I would find it difficult to cheer for even as a Brewer. Something about him rubs me the wrong way.
  12. I'm looking to buy something autographed by J.J. Hardy for my sister this Xmas. Was thinking mainly about a signed 8x10 or 16x24, or maybe a bobble. Not looking to break the bank on this gift, but if anyone has any Hardy stuff they'd part with for a reasonable price, shoot me a PM.
  13. Also glad to see Santo get in. A shame it couldn't happen while he was alive to see it.
  14. Nay. Or should I say, "Neigh." Sorry...couldn't help myself.
  15. I think hawing is spot-on in her analysis of Beast Mode. I liked it, for the most part and for a variety of reasons. Most importantly, it's one of this team's signatures, and it seemed good-natured and spontaneous. Everything like that begins to get tired. It's not like the Lambeau Leap is as cool today as it was when Leroy Butler first did it. Now every team jumps in the stands. Had Prince stuck around, I'm sure we'd have seen tons of related merchandise in the Brewers' team shops. Sad to see it go, but glad it won't get beaten to death and totally sold-out.
  16. RRR is pure turd on a plate. He has been all year. "Well Casey hit 3 against the Cards..." Lets ignore that he was one of the worst everyday players in MLB for a whole season. Dingus is right.
  17. Are you sure that grittiness can't make up for complete lack of ability?
  18. I apologize, Yuni B for cursing your name every time you bat. I still think you are the worst Brewer, but I heartily appreciate the contribution tonight. Keep it up.
