  1. Thanks Mass. I really really appreciate the effort you put into making all of us more knowledgeable Brewer fans. The Link Report is what keeps me coming back day after day and is one of the coolest features of this website.
  2. Or a 1.75 of Siberean Ice
  3. To be fair, Gwynn had a good half of a season of A ball before being bumped to AA. He then struggled pretty heavily during that first season in Huntsville (623 OPS in 2004.) Maybe they'll take it slower with Gillespie? I personally think that A+ is the place to start Gillespie next year.
  4. I have no idea what is going on... but I like the play list.
  5. I was just going to sign up. (I know that I should have done it years ago, but I have a few spare bucks for the first time in a long time.) Should I wait or is it still worth the investment?
  6. Manny Parra still really excites me.
  7. There should be some kind of phone tree system set up for all the major cities across Wisconsin for nights like tonight. After a big loss or a crappy trade, sometimes it would be nice to go where other Brewer Fans are going to drink away the pain.
  8. Everything that I can remember seeing from Dennis over the years has led me to believe that given the chance to pound the strikezone and truly attack a hitter (like you can in the short-term do-or-die situations out of the pen) his stuff will probably prevail more times than not.
  9. Isn't he like 12 years old or something? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. Welcome to Madison Brian. I just moved to Mad-town about a month and a half ago. So far I've been very impressed with the city. If you're putting together a softball team. I'd be interested. Ryan
  11. This was my post in the other thread about Cappy v Sheets... I'll post it here too. Note that I'm only apologizing if his intentions are not to be a troll. Bucksman: I apologize for calling your arguments stupid, accusing you of being a troll, implying that Brian should consider banning posters like yourself. Again I am sorry. Valpo and a couple of others made it clear that I was ganging up on you and participating in the some of the arrogance that I used to hate that was associated with this site. I guess I was seemingly under the wrong impression of your intentions. I have seen several users over the years who come to brewerfan simply to cause fights and instigate bickering. Apparently they get enjoyment out of riling people up over the internet. Although part of me does giggle at the thought of all these "cyber geeks" bickering on some fansite for the Milwaukee Brewers, overall I've always found it childish and annoying. If those were not your intentions, I am sorry that I jumped to a conclusion about you. I'll let the moderators handle calling activity like this out and dealing with it in the future.
  12. Brian I encourage you to start banning people like this more frequently. It adds way too much time and stress to the lives of the moderators, and annoys the heck out of everyone else. Brewerfan would be much better off with a shorter leash on combative posters. It would free up the staff to spend more time talking baseball (that's what you guys are best at) and allows the website to avoid being cluttered up with a bunch of garbage. I admire your restraint, but it has grown into a problem. Who cares if there are a handful of people out there in cyber space who have grudges against this place. I couldn't see it doing much damage to the overall popularity of the place.
  13. Khalid containes a liquid core, which, if exposed due to rupture, should not be touched, inhaled, or looked at.
  14. Of course, the second I open my big fat face and Khalid does this... 8 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 9 K
  15. Thanks Brian. I haven't heard of any of them either.
  16. I'm not sure what site it is, but I know that there is a data base out there that compairs players to the most statistically similar player from basebally history. Does it work in reverse? If so, I'd like to see which modern players are most statistically similar to Uecker.
  17. Where can I find stats regarding GB - FB ratios? edit: Seems like Yo has been pretty dominant in this category as well, I just want to check up on him and a few others.
  18. Wow... I was bored and just read through the last two threads about this stuff... wow. I don't think anyone truly "worshiped" 3TO, Ginter, Kinney or anyone else there have been vigorious debates about. Heck that is part of the fun of being a fan, is finding novelty players and celebrating them. Looking for an underdog to passionatly support through thick and thin is one of my favorite aspects of following baseball. I hope that reactions and obvious vendettas such as displayed by BrewCityUnit don't jepordize peoples willingness to have "man crushes" or be an avid supporter of a less then stellar player. Despite excessive love he was given on this site for several years, I don't think anyone here truly believes that Khalid Ballouli is going to be a consistent MLB All-Star. I don't feel the need to constantly post his ERA or injury history because people are just having fun following his development. BrewCityUnit... my advise is to let it die man. Even if you think you've been wronged or treated unfairly. Take one on the chin and ignore it.
  19. I think that the more casual "bandwagon" fan is looking at tonights game a test of what we actually have. I know a bunch of my friends started watching after the hot start, but are quickly becoming disenfranchised. I've tried to explain the difficulties of playing really good teams on the road, but it makes no difference to them. As far as they're concerned, if the Brewers drop below .500 it will be a reflection that this is the "same old Brewers." I'm really hoping for two straight wins here, to build the excitment a bit again!
  20. Although it's a total of *4* outs. Yeah, but its part of a pattern of really solid peripherals from Yo. If he is able to pick up his velocity a little bit, he could be one heck of a prospect by the end of the year. Working consistently with a fast ball in the mid-90's and a deceptive delivery could be really effective in the big leagues.
  21. three ground outs compared to his one fly out as well... I really like what Yo does. Any word on how hard he is throwing? I know that in the past he has worked in the 93 mph range. Has he dialed that up at all, or does he have another method of making batters miss? Is it the movement on his pitches that sick, his delivery that deceptive, or is he just hitting his spots like a machine? edit: changed 1st fly outs to ground outs.
  22. I don't know who keeps track of the stat, but I remember during the "great" Kinny v. Franklin debates, that it was frequently busted out in support of Franklin. Ahh... those were the days. I used to get such a kick out of reading people's passionate defenses of some really craptastic players. I'm glad those days are behind us. (crosses fingers)
  23. Wow! I was just typing that we NEEDED to get Hart in, and Jenkins comes through. I think we're in this game again!
  24. Sheets is doing a horrible job of holding runners. That lead by Reyes was insane, and now La Duca is running all over us?
  25. Many times hitters are straight up taking a pitch on 3-0. The fact they aren't swinging at anything would probably account for the low average.
