  1. Foul territory has decreased about 20% after the last run of new ballparks were built. Presumably the dugouts are much closer than back in the day when men were men. I can see making those safer. If a guy hits a 100mph screamer at your head you won't stand much chance even if you are paying attention. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/ballpark-playing-surfaces-are-shrinking-in-a-surprising-way/
  2. "You will not be able to lease these out for less than 31 days. You can do a month-long lease, but you can’t do a ... weekend lease," he said. Some homeowners might treat them like their cabin up north, using them only on weekends, but Policy expects many to be living there year-round." https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/2019/12/12/packers-titletown-district-prices-set-townhouses-expect-first-occupancy/4354799002/ There are currently no Air BnB listings for any of the Titletown apartments or townhomes for the game against New Orleans on Sept 24th. Ed Policy states quite clearly in that article they want it to be a year-round destination. The next phase is more entertainment (bars, restaurants, etc.). They know that won't work if the place is empty in the summer.
  3. From post above: They can't be leased for less than a month at a time.
  4. I have a good chiropractor I can recommend to you, Jesse.
  5. The whole point is to make it a year-round destination. Titletown has something like 150 apartments and 50 townhomes. Those aren't going empty if the Packers start losing.
  6. Apparently, Mark Murphy wants to set up train service from Chicago/Milwaukee to Green Bay for the draft: https://urbanmilwaukee.com/2023/05/26/wisconsin-planning-passenger-trains-to-green-bay-madison/?fbclid=IwAR31TyGf88elL9LdnAGTf8LwdhOjkAPpBFBxLMTcPixKt4aDvLosRLyV5GQ
  7. I think the idea is to develop the land so it is used year round. Titletown is a mix of hotels, offices, bars, restaurants, and residential (with a football field in the middle).
  8. He has a PhD. I thought that was interesting.
  9. The idea of developing the land around Am Fam is not new. Interesting article about that: https://urbanmilwaukee.com/2022/06/08/murphys-law-about-that-brewers-entertainment-district/ Almost none of the ideas have come from the Brewers though they did float a "what-if" to the city back in 2011/12:
  10. I read somewhere that the houses for sale in the Milwaukee market are down 49% from a year ago. There is just no supply right now. Stuff goes up on Zillow/Redfin and is gone within 24 hours unless it's at the high end of the market.
  11. bullpen game schmullpen game says Julio
  12. This is only part of the problem. The county, for example. has to provide state-mandated services (e.g. courts) but the revenue they get back from the state to provide such services has remained flat the last 10 years or so (assuming the graph on the left is different since Covid): Hence the big kerfuffle going on right now to pass revised revenue sharing with municipalities. I realize this sort of tiptoes politics but I thought it was important to point out.
  13. Well they put the one from County Stadium out by the highway for a while.
  14. Please stop with the condescending tone. Thanks.
  15. The parking lots seem like wasted space to me. Yeah obviously on game day and for concerts they are used but what about the other 250+ days of the year? I would think they could build a parking structure or two and then sell off or develop some of that excess land. If you don't want to tailgate, want covered parking, and direct access to the stadium from your car then park in a structure.
  16. They are trying. Need Brewers to sign off. https://www.fox6now.com/news/beer-district-american-family-field-entertainment-district
  17. They did the same thing with County Stadium.
  18. It's a made for tv event. The people are just frosting. I don't think the NFL really cares if they have to commute 3 hours to get there.
  19. I think snow would be awesome.
  20. That's true. I lived in Chicago for 17 years and I think I saw a sheriff pull someone over south of the border once or twice. Avg speed goes up 10 mph once you are in Illinois.
  21. Tampa's only lost 4 at home this year. Nice to have one of them.
