Yes, but Raji is way to short to play center. Granted, him just standing there means everyone would be at least 3 feet from the basket. Collins was a good defender and three point shooter. I'm gettin' old
Debatable, but what isn't debatable is the play call(s) The right play call would have been like what they did later in the game on 3 and 1 where they faked the handoff and Rodgers rolled out. Agreed. I think the bootleg so perfect there because Rodgers is mobile enough to run for it if need be.
I still think there are some pieces to fill in before this team "contends". They'll be much better in a year or two but to contend for a playoff spot I think they still need another pitcher that's not in the system right now.
So the Steamer projection came out today for Thames.....whoa: http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=3711&position=OF Take it with a grain of salt obviously but if he comes close to this...
Which says what? Everyone likes to pile on him for being "the worst owner in sports" but his team has won more championships under his ownership than most of the rest of the league. He's also (at times) made more of an effort to field a competitive team than the vast majority of other teams. He's won one World Series. He bought the team (well was given ownership) in 2002 and they won it all in 2003. So if you want to credit him for that go ahead I guess. John Henry was owner when they won in 97
Easily? I mean I guess in the sense of he has a 50/50 shot like any player. Nothing really hints at him being an ace though. Lot of room for improvement though...could be a lower-ish 3 ERA guy. What are you hoping for the next Kyle Hendricks? I guess it is possible. Easily doesn't imply that it's "easy" or a given. Just that it shouldn't surprise (and not every player that gets to the majors has a 50/50 shot at being an ace). He showed plenty of reasons that he could turn into something special especially for a 23 year old. He could just as "easily" flame out. Although it bears mentioning that his top two age 23 comps are Dennis Martinez and Justin Verlander.
