  1. Fab Melo ruled ineligible. Syracuse cries in the night.
  2. No, it's not kind of like that at all. If it was synthentic T then yes it is.
  3. If they meet, I think Virginia could knock off Missouri. Missouri runs and guns and doesn't play a whole lot defense. Virginia is the complete opposite.
  4. I don't see how the games against Cornell and Davidson matter at all. And Butler didn't really shoot all that great, UW just shot worse. UW has just run into buzz saws the last few years. Davidson was good. They lost to eventual champion Kansas by two points. Cornell smoked a very good defensive team in Temple before beating UW. Butler played in the Final Four two years in a row. UW has just had bad matchups. As for this year's team, yes they defend the three very well. Not necessarily due to percentages (which are very good) but due to the fact that they don't allow other teams to shoot many threes. They're third in the country ins 3pt FGA/FGA
  5. Vanderbilt will not make the Final Four simply because Seth Davis predicted they would.
  6. Right but there are new fast acting steroids that leave the system rather quickly. And the arbitrator sided with Braun on the technicality. It doesn't mean he didn't put something into his body. Kinda like a murderer getting off because the cops didn't read him his rights.
  7. I think it is. It's one of those "sleeping giants". It wasn't so long ago they were awesome for like 20 years straight. Just takes a guy that can recruit Chicago and they're right back up there.
  8. Now that the dust is settling, I just think Occam's Razor takes over - he probably took something and got off on a technicality. I don't want to believe that and I'm glad he's not suspended but this seems to make the most sense. All the other stuff just seems like we're trying our best to make facts fit the version of the story we want to be true. Square peg, round hole and what not.
  9. MU had 26 turnovers. Louisville had 19. Eek.
  10. Twins fans held a grudge against Bud Selig for years.
  11. Didn't he have like 25 innings in a row without an earned run?
  12. I wear my Brewer gear to Cubs games all the time. As long as you aren't in the bleachers you won't get a hassle. Not to mention there are usually plenty of Brewer fans there to back you up.
  13. Excellent write up. As good if not better than the big boys....and free to boot! I'll be making more trips to PG for sure.
  14. Anyone read "The Art of Fielding"? It's by a Wisconsin native and earned a good review by the NY Times. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/11/books/review/the-art-of-fielding-by-chad-harbach-book-review.html
  15. pebadger, I realize this is asking a lot but if you have the time I'd appreciate you writing an article on this topic. You seem to have a definite point of view and can back it up with facts. I'd be fascinated to read something. Maybe it gets bounced around the internet and others can learn what we have. At the very least, we can replace the Shea Vucinich article that's been on the front page since June of 2010.
  16. Well it's possible he shot up and then was told to go pee in a cup. How much warning do they get? I thought it was minimal to no warning at all.
  17. Martha Marcie May Marlene Psychological "thriller" about a young girl's attempts to get back to a normal life after two years with a cult. Within ten minutes, Elizabeth Olsen shows how much better an actress she is than her famous twin sisters. The movie is slow at times and I could see how the ending would tick off a lot of people but I found this film fascinating. The line between reality and paranoia dissolve as the film wears on through some very clever editing. You aren't quite sure what's a flashback and what is happening in the now. Basically a replication of what the young woman is going through. Some beautiful shots as well - maybe with use of a tilt lens or something. Not sure how they got the shallow DOF on some of the really wide shots.
  18. I haven't seen this written anywhere and don't think it's in this thread (although there's a bajilion posts so maybe I missed it) but how does the existence of synthetic testosterone get explained? Is the only answer that the sample was tampered with and synthetic testosterone was added after Braun handed it over?
  19. Dino Laurenzi, L-ATC, MA, MBA, TRX Trainer, graduated from the University of North Carolina with a degree in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training. He has worked with clients ranging from professional to fitness athletes. Dino has developed various sports medicine and athletic performance training programs to assist his clients to achieve better performance and improved fitness The irony of ironies is that he helped people improve athletic performance. Then again, maybe that means he had access to PEDs and what not.
  20. Yeah that's the impression I get. I hope the ESPN mouth breathers read his article and go "Oh." Although I'm sure it will be written at an 8th grade reading level at least so it might be asking a lot for them to actually comprehend it.
  21. Boers and Bernstein. Usually pretty funny. Second on Chicago radio only to Tom Waddle IMO, mostly because he is really objective which gets him into trouble with a lot of the Chicago fans at times. Oh yeah. Duh. They're hilarious but super cynical. Not surprised they're PO'd
