  1. I really hope Sarfate can keep the walks to a minimum tonight. He's got such a good arm it'd be a shame if he put it all together for another team.
  2. any announcements on who the starter for Saturday will be?
  3. WEDNESDAY, May 3, 2006, 5:59 p.m. By Don Walker Bonds hit in the face by a foul ball San Francisco slugger Barry Bonds was hit in the face by a foul ball during batting practice this evening before the Giants' game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park. Bonds was waiting his turn to enter the batting cage as a batter swung and fouled the ball off the netting of the batting cage, driving the netting back and hitting Bonds in the face. Bonds immediately yelled out an expletive, put his hands to his face and leaned back to lie on the ground. Bonds was immediately surrounded by trainers for the Giants, who began to talk to him to find out the extent of his injury. About three or four minutes later, Bonds sat up and was talking to the trainers. He then got to his feet and was escorted to the clubhouse as video cameras recorded the scene. At 6 p.m., the extent of his injury or whether Bonds would play tonight was not known. The Giants are scheduled to play the Brewers at 7 tonight, with Bonds needing three home runs to surpass Babe Ruth's career total.
  4. Lineups: Brewers: Weeks, 2B Hardy, SS Jenkins, RF Lee, LF Fielder, 1B Koskie, 3B Miller, C Clark, CF Bush, P Scrubs: Pierre, CF Cedeno, SS Walker, 1B Ramirez, 3B Murton, LF Jones, RF Perez, 2B Blanco, C Maddux, P
  5. I live in Chicago and they now call the Brewers their 'arch-rivals' (Aramis Ramirez said it in a radio interview as did one of the radio guys) Nice to see we replaced the Cardinals.
  6. 50th Edition of Jewish Sports Review Names Jewish All America Baseball Team New York, July 12, 2005 - The team is headed by former Miami third baseman Ryan Braun (hometown Granada Hills, CA), who was selected in the first round, #5 overall in the MLB draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. Braun hit .388 and led the ACC with 18 homers, 76 RBIs, and a .726 slugging percentage. (He was the ACC Player of the Year). Along with Justin Wayne (#5 overall in 2000), he was the highest Jewish draft pick since the Phillies selected Mike Lieberthal as #3 overall in 1990. hurricanesports.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/071205aab.html
  7. Corbeau, In fairness to BA, I think that list came out before Yo!'s performance yesterday.
  8. Well this game was just the complete opposite of yesterday. UGLY.
  9. I guess Rogers decided striking people out was more fun than walking them. He has 4 K's and no walks so far.
  10. Hernan goes 4 for 5. He is just a singles machine.
  11. Yeah, Bush is throwing pretty well right now as long as he maintains control. He's got 5K's through three innings.
  12. Prince is batting 5th. Clark CF Hardy SS Jenkins RF Lee LF Fielder 1B Hall 3B Weeks 2B Miller C Bush P
  13. It's become obvious that Ned won't pinch hit for either catcher. He does not want to play a game with no catcher on the bench. This should not surprise people at this point.
  14. After 4 innings, Yo has 11 K's. Basically, every out except one has been a K. EDIT: After reading the game log, apprently Yo K'd a guy and he reached first on a pass ball. So really every out has been a K except two.
  15. I really hope Rogers can get more K's than BBs today. Also, will be fun to see what Zach Jack does on the mound.
  16. Jenkins is going yard here. EDIT: When I say 'yard' I mean bloop single. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Let's hope Lidge treats this like a playoff game.
  18. Just wanted to let you know, I'll be saving this quote.
  19. I'm pulling for Krynzel, and I think he has more upside than Gwynn, but this is a make or break year for him. I really hope he can put it all together.
  20. End, what are the odds of those things happening on a BIP? I agree that strikeouts are certainly not that big a deal, but in certain situations I can see where they are worse than a run of the mill out.
  21. Also a big mention of Inman in BA's Daily Dish (free portion) BA Will Inman article There's a pic of Will on BA's home page right now.
  22. He slowed down about mid track, took a look back at the wall, and then timed his leap perfectly. He caught it backhanded about two feet above the top of the wall and maybe a foot past it.
  23. And as far as the Clark steal goes - I thought it was a dumb idea to send him, but he beat the throw. Miles put his foot down right where Clark's hand was headed so he missed the bag. That's why he was thrown out.
