I guess I wonder why there's a need to question Yost's response. What's he supposed to do? Bench Hardy in favor of Hall because of 'range factor'? I think his response was entirely appropriate. And no, I'm not a Ned Yost apologist. I wish the word 'bunt' was removed from his personal vocabulary.
My annual thanks to Jim and Co for their hard work during the season. Before I read the morning paper with my cup o' joe, I pop open the lap top and read the Link Report.
I really wish there was a consistent policy on this. It seems like there is locking just because someone with that authority doesn't agree with the post, or a warning just because a person with authority agrees with the post. This goes for both sides. Just want to point that out as an impartial observer.
Is a bunt there really the only call? I'm talking about Clark last half inning. It's only the fifth, why not go for the big inning? Granted it's Smoltz, but the way the bullpen has been throwing it might take more than six runs to win this thing. I'm not too upset they took the bunt call off there. Clark is the donkey for swinging at a crappy pitch.
Wis, I'm sorry you feel that way. There are definitely know it alls on this board but it's no different on any other message board (fansite or otherwise). At least most of the know it alls here make sense most of the time. The manner in which they make their points is occasionally obnoxious, but they usually make a pretty good argument.
sportswriter, Don't blame people on this site. Fans of every sport find something wrong with a team regardless of the situation. It's human nature to point out flaws/remember the bad things.
RD, I know, but this is probably the best played game the Crew has had this year. Timely hitting, stellar D, great pitching.....I was hoping we could go one game thread without complaining about something...and it was a lefty pitcher in there at the time. I'm sure that had something to do with it. (Wow, Cabrera crushed that foul ball)
