  1. Nice to see that about 96 fans decided to show up for the game. Jeesh.
  2. Jenks has been yacking all morning according to the announcers....
  3. So we could see the 3TO logo on the Classic Thong? That could make for some rather interesting coversations... After a little thought, that is really funny.....and dirty.
  4. From jsonline.com: Attanasio said he won't be is a meddling owner: "Judging from my performances in rotisserie leagues, I'm going to leave that to (general manager) Doug Melvin." Funny stuff.
  5. feel free to hop in the chat area anyone/everyone.....it is another good way to discuss the game as it is going on
  6. I think the key to scoop's potion is getting that lock of Allen Levrault's hair supplied to him by Mass Haas.
  7. I did not want to start a new steroid thread, so I will throw this in the game thread as two former Brewers get nailed: By ALAN ROBINSON, AP Sports Writer April 6, 2005 PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Three Pittsburgh Pirates minor leaguers were suspended Wednesday for failing drug tests last year, with Triple-A pitcher Brian Mallette drawing a 30-game penalty as a two-time offender. Outfielder Jon Nunnally, also with Pittsburgh's Indianapolis farm team, was given a 15-game suspension as a first offender, as was infielder Tom Evans, who plays for Double-A Altoona. Mallette and Nunnally were with other organizations when the tests were conducted before signing minor league contracts with Pittsburgh. Both attended the Pirates' spring training camp as non-roster players but did not make the opening-day roster.
  8. i hope Toby is ridiculously cranky after every Brewer game....its good luck.
  9. My preference would be scoopadumass I was going to say I just peed myself at that one, but that's not true, I just laughed real hard.
  10. Cappy's line (so far): 5 4 0 0 0 4 Yummy.
  11. I may be incorrect on Pride, but I believe every player in the lineup for the Angels today makes their opening day roster
  12. It looks like Glover broke the hand of Bobby Crosby, which sparked the little beanball was in which Helms almost charged the mound......and those Krispy Kreme jokes need to get somebody banned, seriously
  13. Dana Eveland, who pitched impressively in a brief tenure with Huntsville, has been impressive in big league camp and might leap all the way to Triple-A. This lil nugget is interesting too....i was certainly not expecting AAA for Dana this soon.
  14. With everyone including myself finding this new Cubs announcing team to be the epitome of banality, I find it very interesting that everyone in the media thought this new duo was going to be excellent, and a good change from Stone/Carey.... Then, the question is, what happened? Is it just the mix, is it just a bad day, or what. I think Stone is amongst the best in the business, and the fact that Dusty ran him out of town (he truly did) for these clowns is proposterous, and shows just how venomous Baker's influence is.
  15. Yes, that is Gammons in the first row, and it looks like it could be George Will next to him. Also not sure waht the outcome of this at bat will be, but Prince is starting to get zambrano measured......edit, and a nicely hit liner.....
  16. Shelmark stated: The arm action of H is horrible. He looks like he is serving the ball. How about we speed things up a bit...maybe get a little bite on that curve...ugh Perfectly stated....now 4-0....Ben is meat right now..... And this new announcing tandum for the Cubs is horrid compared to Carey (who was mediocre at best) and Stone.....drab and trite is not a good combo.
  17. Last on the mound was # 5 prospect and last June?s 1st round draft pick Mark Rogers. Rogers? performance was the most impressive. Showing an excellent fastball he mixed in a devastating curve ball to strike out the first three batters he faced and four in two innings of work. He definitely has # 1 starter potential. Music to my ears.
  18. Just a shout to say congrats to Brian....here's to number 2000
  19. Wow, even more people on the laugh parade regarding Helms....people that talk out of both sides of their mouths....ripping on Helms for not batting well in spring training, then dismissing it out of hand when he does well. this is a personal, psychological thing for a number of people....they have put their line in the sand over Helms, and now they are stuck with it somehow. Personally, I just want the team to do well, however it appears that some people would prefer an 0-4 by Branyan over a 3-4 by Helms Helms had a 1.006 OPS vs. lefties in '03, .842 last year....he at least should be given a chance in a platoon situation, it just makes baseball sense
  20. This gnashing of teeth when Helms does well is just hilarious......if the blood brothers scoop and xisxis keep this up I might break a rib from laughing too hard.
  21. I just want to echo what scoop said about Nelson Cruz, as when i saw him in Maryvale for those 4 days, he looked like a more polished and even explosive hitter than Nelson or Hart....plus he is built like a brickhouse....others that were watching also noted the same thing when I was there.... small sample of viewing yes, but i concur with scoopp from what I viewed
  22. After looking through the All-American list on BA, a couple of guys that I would like your opinion on are Owings and Tyler Greene....where do they fall in the first 50 picks?
  23. Congrats to Cooooooooooop, who treated to me to a 90 minute conversation, along with Jim Powell, 3 years ago at a winter tour stop in ******on at a Gander Mountain where no fans showed up.......classy guy who deserves good things. We will miss you.
  24. Amazing how quick that money was raised....a true testement to how Brewer fans revere this site.....congrats Brian
