  1. Video of Trenni's interview with Sheets: http://mlb.mlb.com/media/...o.jsp?content_id=7149591 Harold Reynolds analysis of Sheets: http://mlb.mlb.com/media/...o.jsp?content_id=7149611
  2. As long as you're behind a router and you run your updates, I am of the opinion that firewall software beyond the built-in Windows firewall is just overkill.
  3. The point is that the tightfisted tactics of the Twins have scored them tons of division titles but literally nothing else. There has to be a middle ground between the consistent mild success of the Twins and the WS titles followed by terrible seasons of the Marlins. I would just like to point out this outstanding effort from a few pages back. Sorry, but this is a terrible attitude to have. When you get to the playoffs, anything can happen. I don't think it's a realistic goal to have the best roster in the league. You gotta start somewhere, any playoff-level team should make a Brewer fan happy (with increasing levels of happiness the further into the playoffs we go).
  4. PHPBB is outstanding (and free). I host my own fastpitch softball forum at www.wisconsinnafa.com, and have had virtually zero problems with it.
  5. Before you format, try a repair installation first. I've found that to be almost as effective as a complete reformat, unless it is a virus/malware issue. Very simple to do: boot up with the windows cd, choose the repair option and follow the instructions. It basically reinstalls windows but leaves your files and programs in place. It will restore windows to the original disk version, so it will remove any updates/service packs. Just run windows update afterward.
  6. This image of Felix was the first television transmission.
  7. I've had a 50" Vizio plasma for about three years and love it. The picture is outstanding, no burn-in problems, etc.
  8. If you're sure it's not a power setting, it sounds like a hardware problem with the video card. Definitely update the drivers, if that doesnt do it I'd return it if you still can.
  9. Prince Fielder fathead as shown in photo below. Everything shown is included except for the current Brewers logo in the top right of the photo (my son wrote all over it with marker and I ended up throwing it away). In excellent condition, no marks or tears or anything, although the left shoulder area is losing stickiness a bit but not too bad. If anyone wants to buy or trade, make me an offer. FYI I didn't get any of the 09 bobbles yet. Thanks! http://product.images.dreamsretail.com/43-34/43-34081-P.jpg
  10. Just saw Sugar on DVD. Awesome movie. Definitely the best baseball movie in quite a while.
  11. Kendall's "great game calling" = better pitching last year.
  12. Saw District 9 this afternoon, and thought it was excellent. A sequel is sure to come, lots of loose ends.
  13. I thought the same thing. It's certainly not surprising if that is true, but I certainly didn't think I'd ever hear Robin actually say it.
  14. Unfortunately, it'll only allow one to burn an ISO to a CD or DVD. It would be nice if it could create an ISO and mount it. Also, Vista currently allows you to share a DVD drive over the network, so I'm sure Windows 7 will. I've never tried installing software, but I can transfer files from my Vista PC DVD drive to my XP Notebook (it's painfully slow over my network, though). I use a really lightweight free app called ImgBurn for creating and burning ISO's. It can also be used for burning audio, dvd, and almost anything else. For mounting an ISO, I use the free version of Daemon Tools, works great.
  15. I've been using Vista since it was in beta and have NEVER had a major problem with it. I love it. I think as long as you aren't trying to use ancient programs and hardware, Vista is great. And I have been messing around with Windows 7 as well, and like that as well.
  16. Calling chiropractors quacks or whatever is pure ignorance. I have first-hand knowledge that they can be more effective in some cases than traditional doctors. Just one of several examples I could give involves my mother. Her back had bothered her for months and she had been given pain meds by a medical doctor that helped but really only masked the problem. I convinced her to try a chiropractor, and after one visit a week for six weeks, her back pain is completely gone. That was two years ago, and the pain has not returned.
  17. Though we were never married, my ex and I split when my son was 2 (he's now almost 5). We only live a few miles apart, and we get along quite well for the most part-probably better than when we were together. We talk regularly about our son and coordinate things such as holidays and etc very well. My son spends roughly equal time with both of us, and I really don't think he's suffered too much because of the split. But yes, I realize we are not the norm. As for it being selfish to split up when you have kids, I don't think that's a fair statement because every situation is different. Without going into details, I will say that in our case, I am 100% certain that splitting up was the right decision both for us and for our son.
  18. I haven't seen the replay but if it's as obvious as it sounds, my guess is Mike Rivera will be in the lineup the next few days. That a no-brainer suspension - veteran catcher ordering a rookie pitcher to hit a guy, regardless of the history. Edit: ....not that I wasn't thoroughly entertained.
  19. I just happen to have an ASA rule book sitting next to me. This is clearly illegal according to Rule 3, Section 7: The characteristics of any approved equipment cannot be changed. Examples would be icing, cooling, heating equipment. Edit: I would petition the league to declare that team to forfeit all games in which this occurred.
  20. I use both Godaddy and 50webs.com, both are good.
  21. I have one extra standing room only ticket. One of my friends backed out and I hate to waste it. It's electronic so I'll email it to ya. First person to PM me with their email address gets it.
  22. Interview with Mike Cameron. http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/index.php?cl=14435844
  23. I know someone who let his 3 year old name their new puppy. The name was "ball".
  24. I've lived in Western and SW Wisconsin my whole life, and the loyalty to to Cubs is just as strong here as the Brewers or Twins. Heck, a radio station in La Crosse had a fan bus to Wrigley for a game I think last year.
  25. Yeah, they just flip out and kill stuff. They are the ultimate paradox.Ninjas are cool. And by cool, I mean totally sweet.
