  1. lend Almost all games are at 1:05 mon -Sat sundays are off days I was very surprised that they play during the 90-100 degree heat. Dont know about the pre game I got there 5 min before game time because my kid was playing. But I would assume that it would be the same as any other minor league game if someone collects autograph they would be in heaven like I said there was less than 100 people there with 20 of those are scouts. $ 5.00 to get in cheap I thought. Yes they protect ,not a lot of hard play, a play at home was they walked into the tag. Not a lot of hustle between innings . They were pretty loose even laughing at the home plate umpire when he tossed one of the managers. But my overall impression was I thought it was great and I wish I could of gone to more except it was hot. I might be going back in a couple of weeks for a nother long weekend. mike
  2. Rickie looked good at short made a few plays .Ben pitched well execpt for a pitch.Small crowd only about 100 people, I was the pnly one cheering for the Brew crew guys.Dana knew Brad and Ben from his time in Az so he got a hello in.It was also good to see Delmon Young play and other former 1st round pick adrain Gozales he can flat out hit the ball. Besides bieng hot( and missing one of my kids games) it was a great to see so many great players on one field . mike
  3. Fri USA vs MSS Sat MSS vs PES (Brewers) Looks like we will miss have fun mike
  4. If anyone will be there this weekend and would like to meet up to watch a game or two, give me a call at 661 305 1442 I will be there from Thursday - Sunday . Mike Rizzo
  5. Kyle plays on the So Cal Panthers,Yes he is playing Sunday at the Mariner field # 5 at 2.30 On Sat we play at 8.30 am so the rest of the day looks open. www.azfallclassic.com/seniorfall03.htm That is the tourny website I hope it works out that we can run into each othe, I hope you are doing well. Mike
  6. I should be in town next weekend. Dana's brother Kyle has a tourny in Peoria so we are planning on seeing a couple of games as time permits. I think Dana will be going also. Will anyone else be in town ? Mike
  7. Thanks I didnt see it. Dana is having a great time and has enjoyed bieng a closer. He has never done it before and I feel it is always a good thing to try different things, maybe they will put him at first base and let him hit again..(I hope not) He said the team is a pretty tight knit group and get along real well. I guess that is easy when you are winning. mike
  8. Well it wasnt pretty but Dana got the save , It has been a mixed day for us it started off with the good news of his all star selection then the bad news his Grandfather passed away then the save so at this point we will take it with a smile. I have a lot to report as Dana's mom just got home yesterday from a Helena visit I will tell you soon about it. It is all good just dont have the time right now. thanks mike
  9. I was there only once for a pre draft work out in 2002 . It is really nice a great place to play. For a fan I was also impressed with the park,to me it was like Bank one park in Arizona (Diamondbacks) another very nice park. Im sure you will enjoy it a lot of good food at the park so dont eat first. mike
  10. Welcome Please come over to the parents section as well as we are trying to get more parents involved. I hope you will enjoy this site as much as I have as I come here almost daily to get updates on my kid progress. These fans here are as good as they get anywhere!!!!! And they are also fair when one of the guys are not doing so well. Even though I was never a Yankee fan (Mets and Angels) you are still welcomed here http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif mike
  11. The reason Dana is closing is he had so many innings at college they are giving him a little rest with a little work.I also assume that they want to see if he can be a closer. All the talk with the Brewers have always been having him be a starter.I would think that wont be until next year.I still would like to see him end the year at Beliot. mike
  12. I just talked to Dana after reading those comments about his weight.I have to admit I was a little concerned, but after talking with him I understand now. He said that he is 240 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif which is the most he has been. They have him lifting weights right now and he said he is stronger than ever and that he has not added any fat. He is throwing 93 - 94 most times and I will say what they are doing with him is working .For those who have never seen him he is pretty well proportioned his bottom half is thick , his legs are very strong and his upper body has wide shoulders so he can carry his weight very well. mike
  13. A couple of things 1) HD had a triple play against them last night 2) Dana last night was pretty excited. The crowd was really into it . Standing and clapping for the 3ird out in the 9th . The hit he gave up was a bunt that when he tried to field it he slipped and ended up on his butt in front of 2000 people very humbling. He threw well 92 -93 on his fast ball and a really good slider. Anyway a really good start to his pro debut and I am very proud of him. mike
  14. Good News I got the word Mannon Signed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A lot of credit should go to Jack Z , Mr Melvin and there staff for getting all the DFE signed. IMO last draft was a very good one, great job tothe Brew Crew Scouting staff. mike
  15. I just talked to the Harrington family and Matt will back in the draft as things did not work out with the rays. Yes Dana and Matt were teamates and oddly enough Dana's brother and Matt brother were teammates this year as well at varsity for Palmdale high school. We had a party over my house this weekend and the Harringtons were over and they were pretty fustrated about the whole situation, Matt has been doing pretty well acordining to them at Fort Worth this year and feels very strong , since I know them so well I really wish them all the best. We also had the Cables over and Jason would also be a nice fit for the Brewers . Best case would be all 3 Palmdale kids playing for the Brewers but I kind of doubt if that would happen. Mike
  16. Brian Olympia Wa 10/29/83 mike
  17. On Mannon I dont know for sure but I dont think it got done. mike
  18. Late last night we got it done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are very happy to be a BREWER !!!!!!!!!!!!!! mike
  19. We have begun our neogations and they have made there first offer. I really cant say more than that at this time. As far as Wells he is a darn good pitcher and I will assume they were talking about ability. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
  20. Well Dana's season is over and the talks begin on Monday. Im not sure if Draft chat will be brought up I kinda doubt it.They were 1 game away from the State Championships,it was pretty sad there after the game. His last start on Friday was a no Decision he had 11 hits all singles and only 2 of those were hard hit a lot of high bounces and infield hits. There were 4 errors commited which did not help much. The good news was he hit 94 on the Brewers gun !!!! I would say that was good timing for him to do that other than that he was 88-92 .He also stuck out 10 in 8 innings I think his Avg. of 11.3 per 9inn will stay about the same for the year. I am looking forward to the talks I will let you know what happens except for the amount of money. Thanks for wanting him (us) mike
  21. In my opinion We will not know untill close to Midnight EST on the 26th to see if the O's will get him. It will come down to who has the best poker face and guts !!! mike
  22. I have heard story's about Delmon from scouts,I have seen him play a few times,I know someone who has played with him a couple of times ,and I have talked to him and let me tell you HE IS WORTHY OF OUR # 2 PICK !!!!!
  23. College of the Canyons advanced to the Super Regionals. They knocked off Riverside CC (state winners the past 3 years) Dana pitched very well 7 inn 9 ks 5 hits (2 infield) 1 unearned run worked 87-90 topped 92 and that was the 6 or 7th inning. They play a best of 3 series against Saddleback CC this weekend at home. There were quite a few scouts in attendance, which is good to see at this time of the year.Sure wish I could talk to them to see what they thought. This is the farthest the COC has gone in a decade so it is very exciting for everyone.
  24. Any word on nogeotiations between Loewen and the Orioles? There are no talks going on all they can do now is watch and chit chat . I know this because that is what the Brewers are doing to us with Dana . They will not start the numbers talk till after the season they want to get as many looks as possible before they make an offer.I would assume that Baltimore will make every effort to sign him. FYI Jack Z will be out at Danas game tommorrow to watch as they have had someone at almost every game so far I think he will end up bieng a Brewer before the draft would be my guess at this point. He is pitching very well topped out at 95 and working at 89-93. More fyi Parra has hit 97 this spring !!!!!!!!! The future looks bright ( in a couple of years) Mike
