  1. Did I miss something? No Winker for the last 2 games and not in the lineup today? Can't find anything on line about an injury.
  2. Hope its a big return. Someone back up the dump truck.
  3. Well it could be worse, at least it isn't going to be "One call, that's all" Park
  4. I read that tweet as it being one of Long or Stephenson, not both.
  5. I don't think spring records mean much. What I watch more closely is how the teams play the last week of so going into the regular season when the regulars are playing a larger role in the games.
  6. I know some people say strike outs don't matter but take a look at those statistics too. Average team strikeouts for those teams was 1364. AZ 1456, Tex 1493, Box 1224, Mia 1282. Milwaukee had 1571 strikeouts...that is an average of 200+ more than those other teams. No opportunity to move runners along. No driving in runners from 3rd with less than two outs. Some strikeouts are okay but that many more takes its toll. And yes I think with Yelish and Cain in the lineup that it has been addressed somewhat.
  7. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/joey-votto-tried-fatter-succeeded-221020544.html Apparently not every one is in the best shape of their life...
  8. Garcia is Tommy Milone to me, I would take Corbin over him every day of the week.
  9. I can't see Arrieta signing for less than 5 years. This is his one shot at the long term contract. With all the big free agent names next season there will only be so much money to go around. Machado, Harper, Kershaw is going to eat up a lot of that money. Arrieta is not going to sign a one year deal. I don't think he will sign a two year deal either, two years from now he will really be getting long in the tooth so no one is going to give him a long term deal then either. He will hold out for now and he will get that 5 year deal from someone this season. In looking at his numbers from last season one thing really jumped out at me. His numbers were really good except for one thing. Five different catchers caught games for Arrieta. Four of the five catchers had very good numbers while catching him. In games when Miguel Montero was his catcher his numbers were horrible. Why? Montero caught him in 7 games, 35 innings or about 21% of the innings he threw. His numbers were bad across the board with Montero. ERA was almost 7.00, BABIP was extremely high, walk rate was up, hits were up. Was Arrieta just off in those games or was it how Montero called the games? I don't know how good a catcher Montero is but those numbers I thought were striking. I am not advocating signing Arrieta in any way, just found it interesting how bad he was when Montero caught him.
  10. If High Heat's guy did not come right out and say there is nothing going on but would get back to him later tonight....there is something to it...at least discussion of maybe upping the offer. Darvish would be sweet but ugh....if it doesn't pan out ....
  11. I wonder what Neshek would pay for that autograph...my son has a Greinke Brewer jersey autographed by Zack when he was with the brewers...Not that my son would ever sell it...
  12. Interesting the word friends is included.....makes you wonder just who those friends may be....but I would say final offer and walk away....don't bid against yourself.....
  13. Hgh Heat did say the ball is in the Marlins court and now it is a waiting game.....They may be waiting on other teams final offers for a day or two
  14. It makes no sense to call up Brinson if he is being traded....no need to do that....it has to be to cover another outfield spot. If it was a simple switch of Brinson for Phillips because of lefties...that would have been announced right away...has to be for a trade and its one of the outfielders currently on the roster that is moving...either Phillips or Santana...it just could be taking time to finish if say they were trying to figure out something with Verlander to get him to waive the no trade. It could be Santana moving on but that would be for a very controllable pitcher. Should be an exciting day.
  15. Now Magnifico has been traded to the Angles for the Angels minor league pitcher of the year....
