Also written in the past few days was an article on a rays fan site that the Brewers could by the mystery team that could swoop in and get Price. According to the author of the article the package the Brewers would have to send would be along the lines of Nelson, Coulter and Thornburg. Not sure how many would be willing to give that up for 1 1/2 years of Price.

Wow, we are finally going to have a rotation to be excited about and some want to start trading pieces away. I am not excited about SS or CF either but I am not down on them enough to start trading away Starting pitching. There is plenty of time to pick up alternatives before the season starts, lets not do something foolish.

I havent got a reply either, nor my wife. Would freak me out if we both got selected. Naw....that would never happen.

Seems to me at this point, unless Melvin has something up his sleeve, just about anyone with a little experience and a pulse we could use for depth. As long as they come cheap.

Here is something I havent been able to find anywhere else. I dont even know where I got it from but I have a 5inchx5inch square cloth that I believe may have been for use as a coaster or something. Each corner of the cloth has a "base" on it with things on the base like a glove, baseball, bats. There are two pennants on it, one says A.L. the other says cleveland. There is a player swinging a bat with the name Bassler under him. I have no idea the value and no way I would sell it but it would be nice to put some type of dollar value on it. Thanks in advance if anyone can provide any info.

And now Melvin has confirmed they met with Suppan and made a 4 yr offer. LINK (fixed link -TC) Thanks TC...someday I may learn how to do those things right. Oh Oh I wrecked it again..I'll stay away.

According to the Nats website a contract offer was given, no word on a signing. Also the Mariners were talking with Ohka earlier.

There was also a blip in Maller's stuff speaking with Damian Miller, apparently the Phillies are looking for a catcher. Maybe something could be done with Miller and an outfielder to Philly to get Pat Burrell if there is still any interest in him.

One of my biggest beefs over the last couple of years has been because of games likes this. The fans start to get a little excited about the team and they get a nice crowd. Then the team seems to come out and lay an egg. How many fans who seldom go to a game see a game like that and say "gee, I can't wait until I can go to another one." The effort was nonexistant. With efforts like those they will drive the fans away fast.

js online is reporting the thumb is indeed broken and Jenks is probably out for the year. Ginter may play left but I doubt it will be in the next few days with a gimpy knee and leg cramps today.
