  1. Oh COME ON!!!! We have to win this game.
  2. Eveland/Jackson, Dillard, & Cruz to the Royals for DeJesus. The Royals wanted to build around DeJesus, but this deal is too good for them to pass up. I'm going to come out say it. Dayton Moore isn't an idiot. What exactly about this deal is good for the Royals? Getting a bunch of 4A spare parts and soft tossers for their one, young, cheap, Major League ready talent? DeJesus stays with the Royals. Heck, he's only six months older than Cruz. His major league equivalent is Mark Kotsay. And the A's had to give up Ramon Hernadez to get him at the same age. I hate to say it, but the days of fleecing the Royals are over.
  3. I'm crossing my fingers that Fermaint gets promoted along with Iribarren. That'd actually give the Stars a pretty solid lineup from top to bottom for the first time in a few seasons. I think with Chuck's agressive posting to West Virginia in the first place that the Brewers are trying to keep the three latin players (Fermaint, Irribarren and Escobar) together like they tried to do with Weeks, Gwynn and Fielder. It's not going to hurt any of them to stay at A+, but I think that any one of them would struggle in the Southern League right now.
  4. Gamecast had Prince as a righty. It's the little things that bug me.
  5. LeCroy? Are you serious? Not really. But my point is how much do you think the trading price on a backup catcher is? Not much methinks (See: Dionner Navarro)
  6. All Hands on the Bad one was really the turn there. I prefer the more raw stuff obviously, but it all started happening when Janet joined the band.
  7. Words can only describe how much I hope Mike Rivera isn't hurt. Matt LeCroy (Rymes with Pork Boy) got DFA'd today. I don't think Chad's coming back soon.
  8. Should be 2nd and 3rd one out right now By that logic, Feliz should have never booted it. I don't disagree, just that old hindsight thing.
  9. I got to watch the last third of that game! Hey Look! Corey Hart 'aint dead. everybody else in the world had to be used first 'tho . . .
  10. I just gotta say that I think shooting crabs is just unsporting. Unless it is in self defense of course. http://ww2.lafayette.edu/~hollidac/crabpinch.jpg
  11. I nominate Kodiak Quick. 33rd Round by the Tigers kuathletics.cstv.com/spor...iak00.html http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/schools/kan/sports/m-basebl/auto_headshot/403612.jpeg
  12. weeks needs to sit Corey Hart needs to play.
  13. What happened to Jenkins, kids?
  14. Just got home. Can somebody give me a Jenkins update and explain why all the sudden Corey Hart = Mike Adams?
  15. ah dulcid tones of Bob Uecker coming over the intenet. GAME ON!!!
  16. If I were the Brewers I would be looking at a high school hitter (OF most needed) unless one of the big pitchers on their board falls. Sliding College pitchers will probably still be around inrounds 3-4 with the same talent level of who is going to be left at #16. A Cody Johnson type on the other hand might be there since everyone else will be playing it safe. With the growing success of Jack's drafts, (what would we have given to get an Inman in the 3rd round in most previous years?), I think this would be the year to gamble
  17. I went and saw Lincecum pitch last night and while it was like he playing against a little legue team in BYU, I still couldn't really see him as anything more than a big league reliever in the Tom Gordon mold (not that that isn't valuable). I certainly don't know enough about mechanics to be able to judge about shoulder torque, but I would still take Ian Kennedy or maybe even Dallas Buck (who has fallen hasn't he?) over him on what I have seen.
  18. Let's Polka!!! http://www.accordions.com/heathermg/cd_h_s.jpg
  19. Mmmmm....Smoked Cheese!!!!! http://buy.overstock.com/images/products/L937967.jpg
  20. Wow, has Kevin Goldstein's new BP coloumn been great so far. Here's a blurb about Stanford's Greg Reynolds . . . . He also has gsome ood and more bad things to report on Wes Hodges.
  21. I thought this blurb in Kevin Goldstein's latest column was intersting . . . Also this from a scout about Linecum . . . www.baseballprospectus.co...cleid=4855
  22. USS Mariners' Dave Cameron caught the Wake Forrest/NC matchup this weekend and did a nice writeup on Daniel Bard and Andrew Miller
  23. Unless they slide to a later pick, I wouldn't nab either one in the first round, and even immediately after that is questionable. I would be shocked if Linecum went in the first round after falling to, what the 42rd round last year and being all of 6'0" 165lbs would guarentee his being a 4-8th round guy at best . . . Buck on the other hand I'm sure will go to someone in the 1st round. I understand your reluctance about him and even share some of it, but as we saw with another Northwest product, Bobby Jenks, makeup ain't all it's cracked up to be sometimes. In other Husky notes, is Matt Lane's hot start getting any sort of notice? He seems like a decent Catcher and former Alaska Goldpanner. Here's a recent Q&A with him . . . gohuskies.collegesports.c...06aab.html
  24. An update on my two Northwest pitchers .. . . Oregon State's Dallas Buck has been somewhat wild and yet in his first 4 starts, no one has beaten him . . . In 4 Starts 2.35 ERA 3-0 23.0 IP 14 H 13/25 BB/K http://xostech.cache.streamos.com/pics16/400/SO/SOWQVQBJFXAHRTJ.20051214194402.jpg Washington's Tim Linecum's stock HAS to be rising during his Junior season and after being a Cape Cod League All-Star Also in 4 starts 3.38 3-0 24.0 IP 14 H 14/41 BB/K .169 BA Against http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/schools/wash/sports/m-basebl/auto_action/49912.jpeg
