    well I WON'T say Fermaint because he is exactly what he was when I found him, an entertaining talented slouch. The bump in the middle where he was good was the aberration. I WILL say that when Glenn Braggs failed to develop into Griffey JR east a little piece of my soul was removed. Friend sent me a link to see what Glenn is up to now. Note despite the tight frame he manages to work that W.S. ring in there a few times.

    the complaints about Ichiro! is always about his indifference and his standoffish behavior to some other players. To the fans and media, he's always great.

    you're not wrong. more importantly is the team's relationship with the fans. If there is one or two jackasses (cough*carl everett*cough) people don't get worked up, they just don't care. now they DO carry grudges after the fact, Spezio better not show his face here anytime soon. as long as Junior and Ichiro! are here, that's where the reporters will go first. Funny now to think that both ends of Bradley's first blowup in Cleveland are here. And Gutierrez is more important.

    you know, back when he was with the twins, i too thought Silva might have some value. Then i watched him pitch more. good luck cubbies. try to keep him away from the buffet. The Bavasi years are almost gone for Seattle. That's tough to imagine. Now if they had only drafted right. Everytime i see Morrow, damn if I don't think what might have been if they had gone with local boy Lincecum instead.

    I really like the hell out some scenes in your guys' picks while not liking the movies as a whole . . . The first 4 minutes of Iron Man are fantastic and finally made me re-evaluate my opinion of Robert Downey Jr. The elevated train scene in Spiderman 2 is transcendent. The apartment fight in Bourne Ultimatum is right out of the train scene in From Russia with Love, and awesome. And the "Tiny Dancer" scene in Almost Famous is only second to the "I've Seen it All" sequence from Dancer in the Dark for best use of music in a movie for the decade.

    AV Club came out with their list . . . . and I couldn't have disagreed more (A.I. ???), but that's what differences of opinions are for . . . . I must admit for mine, I was watching a lot more movies at the beginning of the decade than the latter part (stupid life!) and I'm missing several that I'm sure would sneak in there like No Country for Old Men (it's on the DVR right now), The Assassination of Jesse James, Gone Baby Gone, and Man on Wire being the most notable that I can think of, but here's my top ten as it stands today . . . . 1. City of God 2. Spellbound 3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 4. Yu Tu Mama Tambien 5. Hedwig and the Angry Inch 6. 28 Days Later \ Shaun of the Dead I can't really separate these two in my mind. To me they are the perfect bookends as homages to Dawn of the Dead, much more so than the film remake actually named Dawn of the Dead, which was just awful. 7. Nobody Knows 8. The Incredibles 9. Brick 10. King of Kong

    yea, I know. I just couldn't get worked up over the Hardy trade, and lord knows I tried. my daughter on the other hand, was obviously DEVISTATED. just trying to keep her from the dark side. her mother is using her "cubs win" bracelet to reminder her which side she fed on last. I'm sure she's gonna be an M's girl in the end. That Franklin Gutierrez is cute!

    In Zelasco's defense, the anchor doesn't time the show. Producers make those decisions. Good on-air talent (read:one that wants to have a job tomorrow), does what they're told.
